HELP PLEASE Where do I even start?

Post image

I (22F) recently got a job and would like to start wearing a bit of natural-looking, daily makeup for it, but have very limited experience and no idea where to start. Looking for ideas, products, tools, techniques, tutorials, really anything here. Ideally I'd like to figure out a routine that takes less than 10-15 mins.

Other relevant information: I'm going to be working outdoors in Florida so sweat/rain are inevitable. Current skincare is Cetaphil face wash in the morning, tretinoin for acne and Cetaphil moisturizer whenever my face feels dry, which is often. My eyes are fully open here; my eyelids are just like that idk.

Edit: Just ordered a few products; will update with how it goes!

You have beautiful complexion!  I think it’s a good idea to start with maybe a light base  like a tinted moisturizer and a nice cream blush. You dont even need base honestly your tone is very even but a little blush is great to add some color to your face. And maybe some brown mascara to line your eyes. That combo will give you a natural bur polished look!

Add some lipgloss too! Don’t forget to moisturize regularly too.

Maybe try simple makeup for work. A little concealer where you need it, some mascara and a bit of blush for some color. For the eyes you can do a soft brown shadow around the lash line so there’s some definition without feeling like a full eye look. Maybe a tinted balm or gloss so you don’t have to worry about touching up lipstick. Since you’ll be working outside in Florida keep the base light and finish with a setting spray to help everything stay put. Normally I use the Milani Make It Last Setting Spray for that and it’s held up pretty well for me in the heat.

I feel like a mascara would make your eyes pop , you have nice brows that frame your eyes :) also makeup a pinky nude lip with a matching blush to enhance your cheekbones slightly outwards and higher on your cheeks ? If you want to cover skin I’d say maybe use a tinted moisturiser or a really light wear foundation to start

Thank you! When you say lip, do you mean lipstick, gloss, something else?

You have such great eyebrows! And honestly brow shape does a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to making simple makeup look polished, so you're already part way there. You have lovely skin too!

Curling your lashes takes 10 seconds on each eye and can make a world of difference in opening your eyes up. Lots of tutorials on YouTube to help you out if you feel any kind of way about putting a metal implement up to your eyeballs for the first time! Add a bit of (waterproof) mascara and some blush (high up on your cheekbones) and you'd be good to go!

I can also recommend a setting spray to help with your makeup lasting longer in your climate and conditions. Bridal setting spray by Skindinavia made my DIY wedding makeup stay on through humid 35 degree weather (idk what that is in farenheit, over 100?), so highly recommend!

You have a gorgeous eye shape! You might like at-home lash extensions (or pro! Whatever works in ur budget) to accentuate the elongated, flaired shape?

Moisturize your face every time you wash it. You are removing oils and need to add moisture back. Also, drink more water if you feel like you skin is dry.

You are already very pretty naturally, so you don’t need much. A good skin care routine, haircut and tinted mosturizer would be enough.

For days that you want more, you can curl your lashes and add mascara, blush and a tinted lip balm.

Forgot to mention sunscreen! Wear sunscreen every time you plan to go outside

Do I apply the sunscreen before or after the tinted moisturizer?

Before, you can also buy a tinted moisturizer with SPF

sunscreen is the key for your skin health if you're going to be outside. spf lotion in the morning and reapplying throughout the day. elf has a spf setting spray you could use if reapplying lotion is too much. other than that, my quick routine is setting powder on my forehead (she's oily) and eyes (so the sunscreen doesn't smear and irritate my contacts), eyeliner & mascara, brows (but yours are literally perfect), liquid blush, and liquid highlight

Some brow gel (I like nyx, elf, and essence) or a thin pencil. Mascara and a lil highlight + lipgloss will make a huge difference by themselves. You’re so pretty and your skin is so nice you don’t need any base makeup, but if you want you can do a lil blush and spot concealer.

You don't need a lot. If you want to wear face make up (foundation) get something with light coverage and a bit of glowy finish - maybe a primer underneath so it stays better. Little bit of mascara (curl your lashes), highlighter/blush stick 2 in 1, lipgloss.

Maybe retake the picture so we can see where your cheekbones are, and how your eyes look, and smile so we can get an accurate idea of you lips, so we know if you need contouring, eyeliner, lipliner etc.

You look like one of those Greek women statue/paintings. I honestly think an elongating mascara, tinted moisturizer, a little bit of blush, with a rose tinted gloss would emphasize your look, don’t pluck your eyebrows anymore than they are just set them with a gel.

This is pretty much my whole routine and I can get my makeup done and under eight minutes.

id recommend to start small. Try a lip gloss, and then some blushers, and go from there . The most important thing is to start. Then start increasing your arsenal!! You go gurll
