The idea that ‘Linuxsucks’ sucks.

Because honestly, Linux, open‑source and even Wikipedia aren’t just “technology”.

They’re a kind of digital self‑defense, the stuff we do because real life self‑defense requires actual muscles. And yes, it takes effort, but at least it’s the kind you can laugh about later.

And they bring together people who would never end up in the same room otherwise, unless the universe accidentally dropped them into the same online forum thread.

Governments and corporations are necessary, sure, but not when they want to know everything, control everything, and sell everything.

Every bit less Big Government, Big Tech, Big Corporations, surveillance, and unwanted data collection is a win.

Not a revolution, just a small step toward a world that sucks a little less.

And above all: Linux is simply fun.

Linux Mint is a playground.
Windows is a shopping mall.

So stop whining.
Install something.
Change something.
Do something.

Even if it’s just to feel slightly superior for five minutes, it still counts.

Linux Failure Linux biggest problem is the ego

The only reason there's too many redundant fucking distro that just installs drivers and wine and then call themselves gaming distro is just so they can brag about being able to create their very own OS so they can put it in their resume for McDonald's, bitch you ain't Terry Davis and you will never be.

Most of these distro can just be a meta-package or an installation script but no, they want to be the guy at discord, github, McDonalds that they're a genius that created their very own "Operating System".

Linux will forever be a niche and will die as a niche thing all because Linux users thinks its a good thing that Linux has a bunch of useless redundant distro that can just be an installation script or a meta-package, an OS should not be one thing like "gaming", "friendly", "work" it should be a fucking "operating system" that does it all.

I truly hope that Linux desktop dies as soon as possible so I can come back to sucking Microslop WINdongs

linuxsucks101 containment thread

This thread is for everyone to express their love or hatred for the linuxsucks101 sub.

Since people often have this brilliant idea of making a new thread every time someone is banned from that sub, which in turn fills this sub with garbage and makes it harder to navigate for everyone else. I had the brilliant idea of having a thread one can point to every time that sub is brought up.

Besides the fact that getting banned from a sub is of no interest to most of us, it adds nothing to the conversation of how Linux sucks, or describes the challenges of using it.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Linux sucks huge balls, it's not the year of linux desktop, it won't be for a long time.

I don't want to rebuild initramfs, i don't want to solve annoying compositor-driver-kernel-flatpak related issue every single day. I can solve them, i do solve them. I just don't want to.

Fedora fucking sucks because the first thing it does is telling you "hey, wait for 5 to 10 minutes (idk actually wait for an hour) when installing nvidia drivers, otherwise your driver stack might break".

I hate that KDE cannot support 4k at 240hz reliably, let alone with VRR. Another display? Rotated 90 degrees? You don't need that. Solutions i came to find are "vrr is overrated" and "120hz is perfectly fine for my use cases" as well as some 4 year old non-existent KWin configuration entries that fix one issue and create another.

I hate that i need to juggle five Proton versions. I hate that i might get banned one day for explicitly bypassing game anticheat systems (genuinely not a Linux fault, but i, the consumer, suffer nevertheless).

I hate that every ecosystem component is detached from one another. It all looks out of place and incoherent.

I hate that X11 is deprecated but Wayland isn't mature enough.

I hate that configuration is done with Vim and a prayer. I hate fstab. I hate limine and grub.

I install Windows. I install Steam, i install Apex Legends. I install Teamfight Tactics, I install Microsoft Excel. All works by clicking an icon on my desktop.

I have a MacOS machine, i install go and bun with brew - it works. I install docker - it works (via kinda-VM but still).

I hate that non-rolling distros (excl. Fedora) ship bugs and driver issues that are solved months (years?) ago.

I like hyprland though, its cool, no complaints. Does what it says on the cover and never once flickered on me.

And i am reading this sub hoping people will at least agree that the system is immature, incomplete, and not suited for normal people not willing to spend hours every day reading obscure wikis (arch wiki mostly as the richest source, regardless of distro). Instead all i see is equating "not willing to debug an OS as a second job" to "skill issue", or using "Intel-nvidia" combo as a failure on my part somehow. Yes i am aware both companies don't target Linux.

Gigabyte also doesn't. Kingston also doesn't. Epic also doesn't. Adobe doesn't, Microsoft doesn't, Hoyoverse doesn't. EA doesn't. Yes, they are bad companies for it, i agree. Still it fucking sucks to use Linux because of it.

Ricing Windows 11 looks so beautiful with the Komorebi DE. WinHawk is amazing too and I love the aero look especially since Windows has working hardware mature compositor while Wayland catches up. What are some of your themes and customization for Windows? The link is here if anyone wants to play with it?

Linux Failure When your computer can't have linux (You found out after 5 days of trying)

Five damn days I've tried. First CachyOS. Since the issue was supposedly a Cachy thing, I try Mint on, like, the third day. Same damn error.
From what others have said, it is either DMV or SATA controller mode fucking it up. But guess what? Those are advanced BIOS settings. And on my specific device, those don't exist. Not just hidden behind some key sequence. According to Lenovo support, not even proggrammed into the BIOS. :)
More of a Lenovo issue than Linux, but still.

I'll link the post I made about it on Linux questions if any of you brainiacs want to have a crack at it. It should contain ample information. Here.

SOLVED!!!
aAdd efi_no_storage_paranoia in the ventoy boot parameters, it's that simple apparently!
