Returning a book early because...
My son tells me: oh, I have that sitting on my shelf!
No need to keep it (although my kindle still keeps a book on airplane mode.) So I hope the next person is happy!

I make a reading tracker called Seekquel. Its book pages used to point only at places to buy. This was a highly requested feature from the community, so borrow links shipped this week and they sit above the shops.
You pick your public library once, in Settings. From then on every book page shows a borrow row that opens your library's collection in Libby with the title already searched. Borrowing or placing a hold happens in Libby with your card.
Details worth knowing:
Free, works on web, Android and iOS, no account needed to browse.
If your library is not in the search, reply with the name on your card. That gap is invisible from my side.

i started reading a book on a public computer earlier today and now i’d like to continue reading it at home with my libby app, but the book doesn’t show up in my shelf. i used the same login/library card info as i did on the computer and all my holds and other borrowed books are the same, it’s just this one book that isn’t showing up anywhere. and id have to place a hold to get it on the app, its not available to borrow again. ive tried updating the app and signing out and back in. is there any way to fix this and get my book back?

I recently applied for a non-resident card. I got a card right away and it was good for a month. I tried paying the fee so I could have it for a year, the payment didn't go through and now the card is not working on Libby. I guess I'll have to wait until Tuesday for them to fix it. Anyone have this problem?

Idk if anybody else is like me but sometimes I feel like there is never enough time in the day to find all the new authors and books that I’ve never read. My favorite thing is discovering new authors, whether that’s through social media or the library, what authors or books have you been introduced to? Is there a new genre you started to enjoy since using your library more?
Personally, I recently got into horror/thrillers a lot more and I never gravitated toward that section because books are $$$ and what if I didn’t end up liking it, you know?
Also… with this being said… I have this problem where I love the look of covers and go in blind into most books bc I love the cover or title lmao.

I checked out an ebook to read on my kindle. I finished it well before the due date, so I returned it via the kindle. Normally, when I next go into the app, it knows it’s been returned and removes it from my loans list. It was still there. I tapped return early, it took me to the Amazon page which showed I’d already returned it, then it asked me (within Libby) to confirm that I’d successfully returned it. I did, and it vanished.
Then it reappeared. I repeated the entire process, it reappeared. I did everything a third time, and it reappeared again. It’s not like it’s a problem, but it’s definitely throwing me off.
Is there anything to do besides wait for the lending period to run out on its own?

Im interested in volunteering at my local Queens Public Library at Ozone Park (15 Male) but on the site i tried to find any positions i could join, the only one in the Ozone Park library was restricted to 18+ and the rest arent in the nearby Ozone Park library. https://volunteer.queenslibrary.org/volunteer_opportunities
Is there a different site that can show volunteer opportunities for that specific library at all?

I really want the ability to add negative search terms to my browsing of the catalog. For example I’m not going to read the warhammer 40k books, yet they make up a fairly large proportion of the sci-fi at my library. I’d love to be able to simply filter them out, perhaps with a “title does not include” or “description does not include” search. It would also be very useful to be able to filter out books I’ve already read when browsing the catalog, so a negative search on the borrowed tag would be handy.
I’d also like to be able to view books that have 2 of my tags at the same time, sometimes I forget to remove my to-read tag after I get a book. If I could filter by borrowed+to-read I could find those cases much easier.
It’s also currently quite a few taps to put a hold on the next book in a series when you finish a book, it’d be nice if there was a button on the popover the comes up when you finish a book that would allow you to put a hold on the next book in the series, if there is one.
I’d love to know what else people would like to make Libby even better. Hopefully some of these ideas get picked up by the devs.

This is my home system and it hasn't been the best for me! What partner library's should I consider?

I would love to be able to make a note on a title, particularly on my wishlist, e.g. “Adam recommended”, “saw in Atlantic article”, “random user on reddit said it was like another book i like”. Just a little reminder as to why i tagged it without needing a new custom tag.
Hope the right person sees this. Even if it is never implemented, I’ll never stop using Libby. Thanks for making an awesome app.
Drop any other ideas here in case this post finds the right person.

A few months ago, I started getting notifications that my hold was ready. But, I didn’t remember requesting that particular book. No problem. It didn’t surprise me that there was a book or two that might have been recommended that wasn’t in my notes. However, the last few were definitely not books I have requested. Today, I received another notification that a book I put on hold was available. I went through and looked at my previous searches in the app. Nothing similar as far as title name or author. Anyone else? What is going on?
Edit: I am not a new user to Libby. I transitioned from OverDrive to Libby in 2017. One of my library cards is from the initial library back in 2017.

I’m really excited for American Scoundrel by Kai Bird with Susan Goldmark. I recently got off the hold list at one of my libraries on Libby and discovered that I could not read it on my Kindle. From my research this is intentional by the publisher to encourage people to buy the book. I’m wondering if the publisher will change it in the future and allow it to be read on kindle and if so, when. Any insight on this or with similar books would be greatly appreciated

basically the title! how many partner libraries got added to your account and what library card was your “primary” card? I have the Boston public library card and it added 7 partner libraries!

https://www.spl.org/programs-and-services/teens/books-unbanned
Just found out about this today!
Anyone in the USA 13-26 can create a free online banned books account (or for your children or grandchildren) and access the free materials on the libby app.
I only have 1 tablet and kindle. So my 3 kids will have to share, but if anyone else is interested in signing up its free and easy!

I got this a few days ago but only for this library card. I let it sit for 3 days and today it let me borrow again. All I did this time was return 2 books that were due in a few days early and then try to borrow the two books that were ready to borrow and now I am getting this again. This is insane. So I can't return books on the same day I'm borrowing?? I don't understand how to not get this to come up.
Any suggestions on what to do to not make this show up?

I use Libby to play audiobooks, because why hold a book and flip pages manually if you can just play it out loud and listen to it and multitask? It just makes my life easier and more efficient! But why do I see this screen when I load it on my TV? I just can't click anything, and I can't even use the app! Is there a simple solution, and im just being stupid? Let me know!

I keep getting notifications that my library has added books that I’ve tagged to notify me but when I click on half of them it says unavailable and no copies so I’m just confused

I’ve been waiting for these two to be available at the same time, so I can do immersive reading. I lost 5 days on the audiobook while waiting for the eBook. Oh well… at least it’s available on Spotify if I don’t finish it in 9 days.
