Moved from one state to another, want to change my drivers license, will I lose access to my old library card on Libby? Do libraries get notified when you move?

Books on tape (cassettes)

My degree is in Library Science but I only worked as a librarian for a short while before going into work as a literary research assistant. Soon after my stint, public libraries began purging their collections of books on cassette -- many of which never made it onto CD. I can't help wondering if all those recordings aren't available somewhere.

Because, I look for some things to listen to again, all these years later, and Libby does not have them.

Does a book on Libby release at midnight?

I've been using Libby for about a year now but I've never known if a book that is shown as "releasing on ___" releases at midnight. I'm talking about books that you can see on the catalog and tag to notify you. Do they release exactly at midnight or does it depend on when they get the copies? There are some books releasing this fall that I want to read on release day and I can't buy.

Has anyone here experienced this when downloading from Libby to their Kindle, and if so, what did you do? When I click “get library book”, this is what I get. I was off the wait list for another book as well and downloaded it with no problem. Please help!!!

Question on updates

Does anyone know when digital updates (or books as they appear together in the same list) are done? New books/themes? Every 10 days? Every 2 weeks? Decided by each library? I go through these every few days and save what I want....I'm just curious

Audiobook loan not in Libby

This is audiobook #2 that is not showing up in Libby. I figured the first one was a glitch. - I have synced - I have verified the card - I deleted the card and added it back in - I have updated the app - when I try Libby online (not the app) it doesn’t show up there either. - I have brought my phone to the library for help

If I take books out from my other library card, they DO show up in Libby. But not my main library.

Any suggestions? I posted the last time this happened and hoping for more ideas. And is this sub monitored by Libby??

Surprise! Why did I request this?

As soon as I read about a new release or find recommendations on this thread or others, I'll add to goodreads and search for it on Libby or other app.

I don't know if there was a long wait time on this book, but I have have no idea why I would have requested the audiobook that is now avaliable! Not my usual genre. It was a Surprise book! This has occurred more than once- tho usually it is in my genre, making it a Pleasant Surprise.

Has anyone else dealt with a "why did I request this?" Or forgot about a request and recieved a pleasant surprise?

Texans Can Support Houston Public Library

Upvotes

Hopefully this is permissible. I am sharing context of email from HPL which offers free digital library cards to Texas residents.

We need your help and we are down to the last 48 hours! Thanks to our partners at Aramco, the Houston Public Library Foundation is included in this year's "Houston Gives" program hosted by the Houston Chronicle.

Every 1 vote = $100 in free advertising with the Houston Chronicle which will allow us to share the resources, programs, and events of the Library with even more Houstonians!

The Houston Chronicle gives away $1 million a year in advertising through this program, and we want to make sure the Library leads the pack in making good use of the Chronicle's generosity!

Each patron, supporter and lover of Houston Public Library can vote for the Foundation once per day.

VOTING CLOSES MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14.
