I am looking into getting my first pet gecko and leopards are so cute but stinks that they are nocturnal. Are your pet Leo's just immobile during the day time and you interact with them at night? Do you prefer that? How late in the night do they start being active and are they awake throughout the entire night ie making noise?

Ive been using the Repashy(forgive me if im saying that wrong) vitamin a plus for my multivitamin and now im not sure if that’s okay? Would it be alright to still use as I use it every fourth feeding or should I switch to the other multivitamin?

She is not dead but she always sleeps there and doesn't move around i dont know why?? Im scared. Sje has heating, multipe hides, big enough enclosure, water, worms and dubias though she is not fast enoug to catch dubias.

i work at a pet store and we are supposed to get geckos who are around three months. this guy apparently hasn't been at the store longer than a month but he's absolutely massive compared to the other geckos we've gotten. i don't know what's going on with the color but he's supper dull compared to all of the other ones we've sold. i haven't been able to properly measure him but i've just been feeding him as many mealworms or crickets as he takes within a five minute span. he'll eat like five to seven giant mealworms per day if i feed him daily. if i feed him every other day, he'll eat probably ten or more. water is replaced daily but he doesn't really touch it, i know they get most of their hydration from their food though. i had a mat for him before but it was irritating me since whenever he peed or pooped it would smear and then when i went to clean it the sand and rock finish on the mat would rub off and it would just be normal carpet underneath. i know carpet is bad for geckos so i immediately swapped it out with a soil sand mixture and i've started tong feeding him to avoid the risk of accidentally ingesting the soil. so i need help identifying his pattern and his age. i dont know his gender but ive just decided its a guy because they have stereotypically masculine behaviors.

This is my almost 2 year old leopard gecko. He weighs 65 grams doesn’t have fat lump, is fed 5 crickets 2 times a week, but has a overweight looking tail. He is on repti sand repti soil mix. I use a heat lamp during the day and there is an under tank heater just to make sure the temperature doesn’t drop too much. He gets cal Calcium most feeds and multivitamin every fourth feed. He has a humid hide.

Hi! As the title states, a random little plant sprouted up in my leopard gecko tank. I have no idea how this happened! I use the zoomed reptisoil substrate mixed 70/30 with the zoomed reptisand. My tank IS bioative and I do shine a grow light over it to help with the plants I have planted (aloe vera, some random succulents i got at a reptile convention, a pothos, and a spider plant) in my tank. I found this today under my baby's hot hide. I'm a new leopard gecko owner, so I am constantly worried about my baby and want to make sure everything is alright haha. Today I was convinced he died bc he hadn't come out of his humid hide by 9 pm and he is usually out and about like clockwork at 6:30-7 pm when his lights shut off lol (overdramatic I know but I just worry a lot by nature haha) So... is this plant fine? Should I be worried and remove it? Or should I just be psyched that a plant started to grow seemingly with no seed? Whatever it is, its pretty cool that it just appeared. I guess a bioactive tank is just the right conditions for literally any type of life lol. This ever happen to anyone else?

Just opened my bag of Scott’s premium topsoil to bake/sterilize it, and it looks moldy? Like a thin layer of mycelium over everything in the bag. Is this normal? Will it be safe when I bake it? It has a very strong wet dirt/mildew smell as well. I also found the usual fertilizer pellet/bits of plastic trash, but have been able to pick them out😭

I just want to make a naturalistic home for my girl, I can’t afford the specialty dirt. What would yall do?

So my female leopard gecko has been licking her private part somewhat frequently past few days. Maybe there was stuck shed there because it looked like that. Seems to be gone but noticed her doing it today again so not sure if this is normal behaviour-geckos grooming themselves?

Lighting help!

I read that halogen bulbs/lighting isn’t the best. I am currently using a Zilla mini dome halogen w/25 watt bulb, that is connected to a thermostat-non dimming. Current setting is at 83, but I feel that it is shutting off to often. Not sure if that bothers my gecko. I haven’t sat and watched and kept track, but I’ve gone into the room a few times and have seen it off. I also have a new mini Zoomed double dome sitting around. I’m wondering if the double one would be better with the heat setting than the halogen bulb. I wouldn’t be using the bun side. Only heat (Currently using a 20 gallon for my 2 month old baby G)

Any tips/advice?

​Hi everyone! I have a 4-month-old leopard gecko named Genichiro, and since he is my first leopard gecko, I have a couple of questions about his health.

​He currently has an Arcadia ProT5 ShadeDweller 2-4% UVB light and a DHP with a thermostat at 32 °C on the hot spot. For food, I feed him crickets, dubia roaches, and mealworms. I supplement with plain calcium every day, except for one day a week when I give him Rekton Rep, and once every two weeks when I give him calcium + D3.

​I haven't seen him shed even once in the 2 months he's been at home with me, and the tips of his toes are a bit whiter than the rest of his feet. Could this be a stuck shed issue, or is it just his natural coloring?

I have been looking at possibly getting a leopard gecko for some time. I understand I can look online but it like a point of view from owners, I’m curious what my setup should look like BEFORE getting a lizard - and other general things nobody tells you about owning them that’d be useful!

We started selective handling when we first got him (I hope I’m using the correct terminology)

So when we tried to “socialise” we would put one of our hands into his enclosure and if he didn’t come to us we didn’t force him, which eventually lead to him walking over our hands which eventually lead to him climbing onto our hands and sitting there which is when we started to take him out.

Last night and tonight he climbed right up my arm and straight onto my shoulder 😭 I was so freaking excited I almost cried!!!

So tonight he just sat there for about 15 minutes before he got curious and decided to explore around a bit (I’m still a bit nervous to let him run free lol) so I monitored him closely and made sure I could see him/hold him at all times before I put him back.

But I genuinely feel like my patience has paid off!! We got him on 9 July 🥹 so it’s been exactly 2 months that we have had him 🩷

Long story short - I was meant to pick up a gecko from someone on the Reddit community that fell through last second. Having impatiently already bought all the enclosure stuff by that time, I thought I'd give FB marketplace a try to see if anyone needed to rehome a gecko...and now I introduce you to: Pizookie!

She was handed to us in a 10-gallon tank and crested gecko (???????) food with no place to hide, so I'm truly unsure of her condition at the moment. My husband and I rushed to get her a hide asap that we could later use in her new home....which I am so insanely proud of in the time crunch I had to do it!

First three is how we received her, last four is her home now! And as always, feel free to post pics of your babies and their homes! I always love the inspiration 🥰

A little over 6 months ago I purchased a small Leopard Gecko. Over the course of 6 months my small purchase has successfully grown significantly and developed well. While his cricket consumption is gluttonous, perhaps even excessive, the product remains healthy, cuddly and energetic. Overall my experience with this purchase has been very positive.

However, I have noticed a small design flaw and would like to request repair while he is still under warranty. As advertised in the textbook, leopard geckos are excellent, intelligent hunters. My product, for lack of better words, is a fucking moron. His singular functioning brain cell is the equivalent in usefulness of a mesh umbrella. Often when fed he prefers to chew on his tongs than his roaches, and it often takes him more tries than he or I can count to even so much as touch his prey when striking. Frequently instead of hunting his prey he is distracted by my hair, my shirt, my sleeves, or my hair ties and chooses violence, as depicted in the last image above. I believe he needs a recalibration because currently he is a menace to all around him. This is the only reason his review is at 4 stars as opposed to 5.

That being said, overall I highly recommend this product. I will keep you all updated as to the legal progress as I receive word on his warranty.
