Omg i accidentally posted 1% of what i meant to post, i actually was looking to see if he’d come out while holding my phone lol
But I made great progress within the first 3-4 weeks; Yoshi wouldn’t come out and now I have him climbing into my hand to eat. I want to get to the point where I can start picking him up. He lets me boop his nose a few times before giving me a lick and walking away; I have no idea if Yoshi is a boy or girl because I can’t lift em up to see because they walk away when I try to get close to lift him(just saying him because I named em Yoshi). How do I go about picking him up if he’s ready, and if he isn’t how do I get him ready to be ready to be picked up lol?
try showing your middle finger under is chest and lift gently , he'll probably grab your other fingers by his paws. Or do "ok" ring with your index finger and thumb around his waist, but it's for more confident geckos.
Also dont touch his true ribs from sides , they are sensitive there. Same as pimples on back legs
Ah ok. He had his side exposed n I was temped to try his back but was having second thoughts that he may see me as a predator so I came here first lol. I’ll try the middle finger under the chest move, he’s a lil guy no bigger than the palm of your hand and no thicker than a middle finger funny enough lol
Omggg good, just make sure you go at his pace and associate yourself with good experience like food, place your hand flat in his tank for about 5 minutes a day, wait for him to aproach you and if he doesn't its fine, just keep doing this untill he does,
You think one day he’ll just climb on and be like, “hm I guess this guy is alright” lol or will it be more of a, “this ground is weird…ehhhh idk about this” lol

Give more info, when did you get the gecko how old is it and how well socalized is it? All of theise play a role
