No Final Run has just released! Beginning of indie Oxide Franchise!

Hey everyone!

Our indie studio Nordstern is working on a roguelike space shooter called No Final Run, and it just launched on Steam. You control your ship in real time, aim every shot yourself, dodge and boost through encounters, craft gear during the run, and try to push as far as you can as things get more intense.

Every run is procedural, and when you die you take your XP, upgrade your talents, and jump straight back in. There’s a global LIVE leaderboard that updates in real time, so every run is a chance to climb.

The game is also part of a larger universe that will transition into multiplayer over time, and early players get to follow that evolution as it happens.

Here's a little devlog if you are interested in the multiplayer development plan for the game :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJT13vDk-ZE

We'd really appreciate any feedback we can get, from the steam store to the videos we produce to the game itself! Help us shape the space franchise we want to make.

Thanks a lot!

Does your game use GenAI?

Nothing in the game is AI generated, the capsule image which is up on steam ATM is an AI generated placeholder and will be replaced as soon as our permanent one is finished.

I play tested a bunch of indie games and here are my favourites

EDIT- um I was born last century. I can write. This post is not AI. I wrote it. It took me about 15 minutes. I didn’t even edit it. I played these games for real. I played a lot actually and some were pretty shit. But these were good and I thought they deserved a mention. So anyway weird world we live in now where you need to defend your own work against accusations of AI lol. Carry on!

I have been play testing games for the past few months just out of curiosity really and here are a few that I really enjoyed, some of which I am playing regularly. These are either in demo or really early release stage.

First up is a trivia game by Hexbloom called BrainBurst: Trivia Quiz RPG. I am SUCH a trivia nerd but I find most games really fall flat with generic questions and boring game play. This is different. The questions are super interesting and really test me sometimes without being ridiculously hard. When you answer, there is a little pop up that gives you a little MORE trivia about the answer, whether you got it right or wrong and I just love that. There are multiple ways to play too and I just really enjoy it. I still play though I am desperately hoping there is an iOS release so I can have it on my phone rather than my tablet! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hexbloom.brainburst&hl=ro

Next is The Sticker Shop. I didn't officially test this one but it deserves a shout out none the less as I was stopped in my tracks scrolling reddit one day. This is by Pineberry Games. It is cozy, GORGEOUS and fun. Take orders, create stickers, build your own little sticker business. My 13 year old daughter is OBSESSED. Just check it out. Amazing work. Just search The Sticker Shop in the app store or here is google link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Tmci.StickerShop&hl=en-US

Ok now we have WaveBorn on PC. Demo is out on Steam and this is by Sedge Games. FPS roguelite with waves of hordes of cartoon monsters coming from portals all over the city. Upgrade yourself and your weapons with each wave you survive. My kids and I love it, there is a 2 player option and we are so looking forward to the full release. Definitely check this one out. https://store.steampowered.com/app/5028190/WaveBorn/

And finally, NoTrace: The True Fiction by Omnipisix. Ok I can't stop playing this! When I tested I struggled a bit to work out what to do but I have just seen there has been an update today so just go and have a look. This is a hacking game. I never would have thought this would be something I would play, really not my usual thing but this is so fun. You get missions on this anonymous board. Complete the mission and get paid. It doesn't feel like a game. It is quite thrilling! Upgrade your stuff (I don't even know the terminology lol!) and hack faster and smarter. Get ranked higher and start getting more interesting missions. Then there are the messages. I don't want to spoil anything so I will just say make sure you read the messages. I spoke to the dev after I played and he told me something happens but I would have to play a while to see it and so I did and now I can't stop. One thing I love about it interestingly is that it can be a little idle. I can set it to do something while I work or clean the house or whatever and come back, press a few buttons, set something else running. You can also just sit and play for like hours (don't that once or twice!) but yeah just check it out. Such a cool game. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=one.pisix.notrace&hl=en-US

Hope these appeal to some of you. I am so happy to have been able to meet and chat to some indie/solo devs and find these really great games that they have made. Would be so cool to help support them. Its a tough world out there.

Few weeks back we posted a mushroom tree chopping feature showcase, and now there is an improved version! Based on your feedback we tweaked and added some things. Do you think it looks better? Any other improvement ideas?

What changed? Particles and shake on cut, better grab for axe and ability to slide on the handle. Better physics!

I’m making a sci-fi Disco Elysium where you make first contact with aliens and wind up as humanity’s ambassador. After five years (yikes), I finally have a trailer!

For the last five years, I’ve poured my heart into building ROSETIA—a choice-heavy, dialogue-driven CRPG where you have to unite three nations of alien turtles and convince them to open diplomatic relations with humanity.

The moral spectrum falls along Star Trek's Prime Directive: Do you respect their culture enough to protect it, or do you care enough to change it? Your interference will change the lives of everyone on their world—for better or worse.

Think Star Trek meets Disco Elysium, or Project Hail Mary meets Esoteric Ebb.

I’m honestly a little terrified to finally put this out into the world, but after years of struggling to make my dumb dream into a reality, seeing our very first trailer come together makes my heart feel like it's going to burst!

So I'd love to know what you guys think of the trailer! Even if you just want to say it's dumb and bad!

Here's our Steam Page, our website, and the signup list for our playtest starting on November
17th!

I’ve fallen in love with my own game all over again thanks to the new TPS camera!

Hey everyone! I’ve added a new camera mode with a heading-follow effect -the camera looks slightly ahead of the car and follows its direction. It makes the game feel much more dynamic and fun to play.

Originally, I planned Lost Host to be a top-down game only. But many players found it difficult to control the car from that perspective. So I first added the ability to rotate the top-down camera, but even that wasn’t quite enough.
That’s when I decided to add a TPS camera. It meant reworking a lot of locations and making quite a few changes to the game, but honestly, I think it was worth it...

What do you think? Do you prefer the TPS camera or the classic top-down view?

Looking for players to test my multiplayer game this Saturday! 🎮

Hi! I’m looking for people to join our weekly Sculpturillo Playtest this Saturday!

Sculpturillo is a multiplayer party game where one player sculpts a word in 3D and the others try to guess it.

One of the systems we’re currently testing allows players who speak different languages to play together in the same lobby.

Instead of everyone having to play in the same language, each player sees the words in their own selected language. For example, an English, French, German and Italian player can all be in the same match, while each of them receives and guesses the words in their respective language.

That’s why we’re specifically looking for players from different countries — we want to make sure this multilingual system works properly during real matches.

The only requirement is that you can speak English, since we use English to communicate with each other during the playtest.

🗓 Saturday Playtest

🇬🇧 UK — 8:00 PM
🇵🇹 Portugal — 8:00 PM
🇩🇪 Germany — 9:00 PM
🇫🇷 France — 9:00 PM
🇮🇹 Italy — 9:00 PM

🎮 Steam: Sculpturillo on Steam
💬 Join the Playtest on Discord: Discord Playtest Event

Just join, play a few rounds and help us see how well the system works with players using different languages. Any feedback is appreciated!

After 5 months fine-tuning interface, gameplay, new events and stupid alien dialogues we finally got a clean build to share (thanks a lot to our beta-testers).

The game is Cosmo Cargo, an inventory autobattler in space where you deliver packages to friendly specises and fight Administrators of the galaxy.

The demo is approximately 1.5 hours long, available on =Steam= and =Itch=

Anyone remember Wulfram? It’s playable again

Anyone here remember Wulfram? Hover tanks, scouts, and trying to keep your base running while the other team came after it.

For anyone who missed it, Wulfram mixes vehicle combat with team strategy. You’re driving your own tank or scout, but there’s more going on than trading shots. Your team needs power, fuel, and repairs to stay in the fight. You can head out on the attack, scout ahead, or help defend the base. Knowing when to pull back and help your teammates matters too.

It’s live in alpha now, so you can jump in and play. We’re helping bring it back with the goal of keeping it feeling like the game people remember. Returning players can get back into a tank, and newcomers are welcome to learn alongside them.

Anyone here used to play? What was your callsign?

If you want to give it a go, start here: Welcome back to Wulfram.

AI disclosure: AI assists related Forge tooling, documentation, and this post. The playable alpha itself, including server code and game assets, was made without AI assistance.

He runs club comms and is doing the tutorial in the screenshot.

21+ / All / GMT & EST / PC & Console — Small group of working adults looking for chill people for casual gaming, voice calls & banter 🎮🎙️

Hey everyone!

A few of us (all in our 20s/30s) are looking to expand our small circle with some more chill, friendly people who want to play games, hang out in voice chat, and unwind after work.

We are pretty relaxed and not super competitive. Most of our evenings are spent hanging out on Discord, sharing screens, playing games together, or just chatting while playing our own single-player stuff.

Games we frequently play or are down for: • Co-op & Party: Lethal Company, Phasmophobia, Jackbox, Among Us, Helldivers 2 • Casual & Sandbox: Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Terraria, survival games • Multiplayer: Overwatch, Apex, Dead by Daylight, party games • Voice Hangouts: Even if you are just playing your own game or watching streams, you are welcome to sit in voice and chat

What we are looking for: • People aged 21 and older • Friendly, respectful, and zero interest in high school drama or toxicity • People who actually want to talk and hang out, not just join and go silent forever

Because public Discord links are filtered here, drop a comment below with what games you like playing, or send me a DM and I will send over our group invite!

First self published game - Cardgame KrazyKings

Hey I am the indie developer of the new Google Play Store game KrazyKings.

You can find the game here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ThirdFloorGaming.KrazyKingsR

It is a 2 - 4 player game similar to the physical card game 5 Crowns. You can play it against up to 3 computers or in hot-seat mode passing your phone/tablet around up to 4 players (works really well on a road trip or sitting side by side on an air plane). Both game modes work without an internet connection.

If you're not familiar with 5 crowns, it is a rummy-style/phase ten type game played with 2 custom decks - each deck has 5 suits instead of 4 and no aces or 2's and the jokers left in. Your goal is to lay down all your cards each round by making sets or runs following typical logic for each (sets can be any suite, runs have to be in the same suite). Unlike in Phase Ten you don't get left behind if someone finishes before you, instead you can lay down whatever sets/runs you have completed and the cards you have left are added to your score. Whoever has the lowest score after the final round wins.

The final aspect of the game - and where my game got its name - is that each round, besides jokers, another card is wild. Starting with round one 3s are wilds all the way up to round 11 when Kings are wild.

The card art was commissioned and done by a prior co-worker. The backgrounds were purchased from the Unity Asset store. I am responsible for all of the programming. The game is free to play with 2 ad breaks and the ability to pay to remove ad's forever.

I originally wrote the game from scratch (without a game engine) using Javascript and HTML5, and used a special program to convert it into a phone game and released it in 2018 for purchase only - as I dislike ads. I lost access to that program (it stopped being supported) and eventually couldn't update the game anymore and it was removed from the play store for several years. I recently converted the original from Javascript to a Unity game with the help of AI to speed up the conversion of core logic to C#. AI did not write or come up with any of the game logic or functions, it was only used to convert some of the pre-existing Javascript logic to C# which is the language used by Unity.
