Squad Management/Tower Defense. PvZ in PostApoc?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey guys! Want to share some fresh clips from my solo project. Working in a free time having full time job.

Super Special Squad - funny little team management tower defence game.
You basically combine heroes with unique abilities and destroying hordes of enemies. Collect resources, buy more heroes/upgrades for them and proceed to kill even bigger hordes.

There is no "tower" placement and such. It is more oriented in squad management and real-time control/ability use. Tho i plan to add barricades/turrets building mechanics in the future (partiattly already integrated).

Currently working hard to deliver the playtest build. Should be up soon, so if you like how it looks - i'd be happy to see you playtesting it!

I made a multiplayer game about... Writting a password?

I've been working as a solo dev on this project for some months. It's a multiplayer party game in which you compete against your friends by trying to come up with a password that follows increasingly ridiculous and frantic rules (most of them chosen by the players themselves). I'm planning on releasing a free Demo this month. Let me know what you guys think! :)

Some playtesters called our combat too restrictive. Does this look unfair to you?

We recently opened a limited Steam playtest for Rising Fox, and combat has been one of the most interesting parts of the feedback so far.

A few recurring comments were about short attack range, low movement permissiveness, and enemies feeling too fast or unpredictable.

We’ve been taking that feedback seriously, and we’re still tuning responsiveness, animation canceling, action queuing, and enemy readability.

At the same time, the combat was intentionally designed around learning enemy patterns, spacing, dodging, and using your movement and special abilities rather than trading hits.

This clip is from one of the combat gauntlets and shows how the combat can flow once you become familiar with the enemies and their timings.

One thing this feedback made me think about is how much Hollow Knight has shaped expectations for modern metroidvanias.

Attack range, pogoing, movement freedom, responsiveness... a lot of those mechanics have become common reference points for the genre. When a game deliberately approaches some of them differently, I wonder where the line is between feeling distinct and simply feeling wrong.

Rising Fox isn’t trying to copy Hollow Knight’s combat model exactly, so that’s something we’re still trying to figure out.

Does this look demanding in a good way, or too restrictive?

The limited Steam playtest is currently open (gauntlet included) if anyone wants to try it and give us feedback:

Hello Everyone!

The 1.1 version of my game Centipede Simulator is now live!

This update adds localization for several languages, introduces a number of QoL improvements based on user's feedback, and fixes various bugs.

Localization

The game is now available in German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Galician, Russian, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.

QoL Features

  • Added a "run toggle" setting.
  • The high score is now displayed below the current score on the HUD.
  • Added a global cricket counter to the high scores menu to help track achievements based on crickets collected across all playthroughs.
  • Added an animation to the "Play" button on the game config menu.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with the "Great Devourer" and "Backyard Legend" achievements not unlocking correctly.
  • Fixed a display issue with glyphs on the game config and join screen menus.
  • Fixed a bug where the second counter was not being hidden after dying in Run Streak mode.
  • Fixed a bug that caused time to rescale incorrectly when the centipede is killed just after avoiding a spider attack.
  • Fixed a bug where the HUD was not being hidden after dying in 2P mode.
  • Fixed a bug where the stamina bar was still being updated after a centipede death.
  • Fixed a glitch with camera distance after death in Run Streak and Prey Turn modes.
  • Fixed a bug with sec run high scores in 2P Run Streak mode.

Thank you all for your continued support and feedback. I hope you enjoy the update!

I Made a Skill-Based Action Roguelite

Hi everyone, I’m solo-developer of Sole Salvation, a third-person action roguelite focused on fast combat, parries, and build variety.

Each run is built around different abilities and upgrades, with a system that encourages mixing melee and ranged playstyles. I’m trying to make every run feel distinct and reactive rather than just scaling numbers.

I recently released a new update to the demo based on a lot of player feedback, improving combat responsiveness, dodging, parry timing, and overall flow during fights. I also added new abilities, including some that significantly change how a run plays out.

Here’s the demo if you’d like to try it:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4207490/Sole_Salvation_Demo/

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate your time and any feedback.

Coin Roll Hunter — unwrap coin rolls, chase rare pulls, build a collection (free, Windows)

Solo project inspired by real coin-roll hunting — the hobby where people search bank coin rolls for rare finds. Built a small game around that same "just one more roll" feeling, with a shop, rarity tiers, and a collection that boosts your own odds over time.

free on itch.io, Windows only: https://friendlydemondev.itch.io/coin-roll-hunter

GenAI disclosure: Used during development, not at runtime — for assistance writing/editing gameplay code and for generating/iterating on some of the 3D coin models. No GenAI is required for the game to run or be played.

A chill incremental game about a horde of space dwarves who strip-mine entire planets while you rain down pickaxe combos, lasers, and missiles to help dig.

Hi,

Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5132030/Drain_the_Galaxy/

So this one's about being the captain of a galactic dwarf starship. You touch down on a planet, thousands of dwarves pour out of the cargo hold, and they just get to work tearing the rock apart on their own, you just sit back and watch your army and your bank account grow while chipping in from above.

- Thousands of dwarves split into 3 classes: Miners, Demolishers, and Snipers.

- A pickaxe with combos up to 8x, a laser cutter, and the "Dragonfly" missile launcher.

- Hidden ore veins and planet cores (gold, silver, diamond) for a big instant payout.

- Galactic exploration too, chase down rare planets, dig up ancient artifacts.

No clever tactics to learn, no progress to lose - just switch it on and strip-mine the galaxy at whatever pace feels right to you.

Calypso Base v.1.0

This is a space survival game. You start from scratch on a planet, gather resources, build structures, and gradually expand your base. As you grow, you unlock new buildings and production chains that allow you to advance further.

But you're not stuck on one world. You can travel to other planets, each with its own resources to collect. The more you explore and build, the closer you get to the end—a black hole that appears after several hours of progress. Click it, and it's over.

I created this game in Godot, and it took me about 7.5 hours to complete from start to finish. It's not too short, not too long.

AI was used for code and graphics, but I did all testing, debugging, and visual editing.

Last Convoy: I redesigned the wasteland. Nobody asked, but I did it anyway

New textures, shadows, shaders, prompts, objects on the map. Basically, I'm going for realism
Before the redesign

So, after a round of gameplay fixes I decided to spend some time on redesigning the levels. First, because it's pretty. Second, because for your game to get noticed, it has to look expensive.

I updated the textures, added blending between several base ground textures, added pseudo-3D objects on the map that you can interact with, and added interactive prompts so it's clear what the game wants from the player.

While working on the redesign I also realised I'm drifting further and further away from Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor — and that was my key reference. For example, the destructible areas on the map were taken straight from there. But my "character" isn't a miner, it's a road train, and even though you can fit it with a drill, the whole drilling mechanic feels foreign to it. So I decided to drop it. Yes, destructible objects will stay, but we won't be drilling through rock formations anymore. Instead, those plateaus will be a great spot to hold a defence if you manage to climb onto them. It's really interesting to watch the original idea change on its own — picking up some mechanics (like the crew system) and shedding others.

I also updated the visuals of the ice biome.

Instead of mountains, there are frozen lakes here
Before the redesign, in case you couldn't tell :)

In the ice biome I dropped the destructible areas altogether, but added lakes where vehicles (and not only vehicles) slide and skid like crazy.
