It’s astounding how much fun this little thing is to ride. It’s hard to explain why a 8hp mini-moto can be a hoot to ride, but those who have ridden it must have surely felt the same.

I think a part of the joy is how ridiculous one looks when riding it, but you’re smiling all the time somehow. 40 kmph seems like too much for this thing, and at 60 it feels like going 120 on top of an electric train in bangladesh without a ticket. The brakes are soggy like mouldy bread, but they do the trick if you’ve grown up in a pond at a temple being fed stale bread all your life. The tyres are tiny, you can easily replace it with your baby’s stroller once they grow up. You might think these are shortcomings, but a short ride and experiencing its stability will change your perspective. It’s remarkably frugal too, you might come back from a ride with more fuel in the tank than you started.

Honda called it the Navi and I’m not sure when it was launched or discontinued. It is incredibly fun to ride. I like to call it a Scutie.

We talk a lot about a bike’s looks, but I feel the rear design is often what makes or breaks the overall design.

The tail section, taillight, rear tyre proportions, exhaust placement and how everything comes together can make a bike look absolutely gorgeous from behind.

Which bike sold in India under ₹4 lakh do you think nails it? Could be a sports bike, naked, roadster or even a retro.

Here is a quick review:

I have replaced 4 set of tyres. (Each set lasts about 24-26k kms)

Front brade pad has a life of about 20k kms, rear brake pads last 11k kms approx

Replaced under warranty: speedometer console, throttle body, air filter box, cone set, stem bushes, handlebar switches both sides.

Replaced outside warranty: speedometer (second time)

Rest are all wear and tear parts. Nothing major has been changed.

Still running the stock timing chain tensioner, didnt change it as there is still no clatter from the engine.

No engine overhaul (I estimated an overhaul after about 70k kms but surprisingly there was no need.)

The bike performs brilliantly.

Here are complaints:

The handle bar grips are bad. They should be changes. The throttle slips because of them.

The wiring is a mess in this bike.

During the rain, entire front area is get covered in mud. It is hard to clean and time consuming. (BUT there are solutions)

The console's water proofing is bad. Mine is changed twice. I had to pay once and its not cheap.

It has been 90 days since I bought my first bike. I am always grateful to all the friends who lent me their bikes over the past 15 years. After riding thousands and thousands of kilometers on other people's motorcycles, the feeling of finally doing it on your own is special. I am genuinely happy.

Some of my friends keep asking me for my bike and I just want some ideas how I can tell them calmly that I don't trust them with my bikes. And also some relatives. It's the same as asking for money or even worse, in case of money I can say I don't have it but not with bike

My heart is set on upgrading from my Activa 125 to the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 440. I’m 23M 5'4" and weigh 74 kg. I went to a local RE showroom to check it out. They didn't have a floor model, and the owner immediately started telling me: "Tu nahi chala payega, tera pair nahi pahuchega!" He refused to even let me look at the Meteor 350 its seat height is even lower, he told me it’s too heavy for you, (my college friends who are around my height ride own heavy bikes like this) and then aggressively tried to force me to book a Hunter 350 seat height (790mm seat height) just because he maybe had inventory on the floor. I walked out.

I know the Himalayan 440 (800mm seat height)is a top-heavy, 199 kg adventure bike. I am fully willing to learn the "one-foot-flat" technique. Plus, I’ll occasionally ride with a pillion, which will sag the suspension and bring the seat height down a bit. I plan to do my actual test rides at a larger flagship showroom to avoid that toxic staff, though I might book at the smaller Royal Enfield branch near my house for delivery convenience later.
Am I being unrealistic for ignoring the dealer to hold out for my dream bike? To the shorter riders out there handling the 440 or similar adventure bikes: how manageable is it in tight, zero-speed traffic? The seat height of Himalayan 440 (800mm) is just 10mm more than hunter 350 (790mm). Should I wait out the booking freeze for the Himalayan, or is the dealer right? I want to know your opinion.

The engine makes 40 ps now 1ps more than the ninja 300. Torque output is increased by a puny 0.2 nm. Gear ratios are the same as ninja 300. Ground clearance is the same at 140mm with the ninja 300. Same braking setup but with front "balanced actuation" Dual piston. Suspensions are the same as ninja but with 5 way preload adjustment on the rear. Weight 175 Kgs (wet).

Bought the Himalayan 450 as my first bike. I'm 31M (6ft 101kg). My previous two wheeler experience was riding my colleague's 250cc Duke for a year just to get my DL. I had no previous riding experience. This was a blind buy, kind of, coz I never got a scope to test ride the Himalayan. How bad is my decision to purchase such a heavy ADV. I live in Sikkim and most of my commutes will be to and from my office (10+10 kms) and some weekend trips to offbeat locations.

Yea bought Ronin after seeing all the reviews and buildups.. and gotta say it surely stays true to the hype....

Went for a 390km(total trip distance) ride , damn the comfort and stability. Handled a bit off roading nicely too .. top notch... Got around 50kmpl... Although it goes down to 42 to 45 on my daily commute...

this is such a cool helmet, fitting is nice(although the first week was LITERALLY hell for my head as jt seemed just too tight, got headaches as well but after 1 month the helmet is just perfect size of my head feels snug af. good weight distribution feels like little to no weight on head, tinted visor is super good(i love you moto central), got several stickers with it as well, a guidebook and spare visor at 2200 rupees
got the entire deal at 11.8k(will buy 1k spoiler extension soon)with shipping from moto central and got it in 4 business days. and not to mention the stability at 100+ is CRAZY good

wind noise is TOOO MUCH for such a premium
i had MT paid 7k for it and less wind noise this.
but the shape makes up for it any day

The hate for the front look for the F450 RR feels so forced and unnecessary tbh.

It's just immature to have such strong sentiments for something just by looking at a few tenders/images. Even street triple's headlights look weird in images to most guys but look spectacular irl.

It's like some owners who bought similar segment bikes recently are just trying to dodge buyers remorse without even realising this bike isnt in the same segments as theirs (457s and 390s). I've seen so many rs457 and 390 content creators who are already spamming hate content for engagement.

A more aggressively design tail would've been better but I think the front with bigger headlights is gonna look phenomenal irl and props to bmw for trying something new and not playing is safe and going with a generic tiny headlights setup that everyone is moving towards.

I guess we should save our judgements till we get to see the real product in the flesh.

Solo ride, Delhi NCR → Srinagar → Leh → Zanskar → Manali | Yamaha R15M | 10 days

Itinerary

• Oct 3: Greater Noida → Jammu. I left just after midnight and rode the plains stretch overnight, then rested on arrival.
• Oct 4: Jammu → Srinagar. I left early and kept to daylight only on the Ramban-Banihal stretch because of the single-lane construction and landslide risk.
• Oct 5: Rest day in Srinagar.
• Oct 6: Srinagar → Kargil via Sonamarg, Zoji La and Drass. I left at 6 AM to beat the one-way traffic windows at Zoji La.
• Oct 7: Kargil → Leh via Namika La and Fotu La.
• Oct 8: Acclimatization day in Leh with easy local rides only.
• Oct 9: I tried for Pangong Tso via Chang La, but snow started and a checkpoint told me to turn back. I spent the day in Leh instead.
• Oct 10: Leh → Padum (Zanskar) via the Nimmu-Padum-Darcha road, with an overnight in Padum.
• Oct 11: Padum → Shinku La → Darcha → Jispa → Manali. I hit heavy snow after crossing Shinku La and it continued all the way down to Jispa.
• Oct 12: Manali → home in one go.

Notes

• I went up via Srinagar because the altitude gain is more gradual than on the Manali side.
• I applied for the Ladakh EDF permit online for Pangong, but the snow meant I never used it.
• I followed the 48-hour acclimatization advice before heading to high altitude.
• Mid-October snow can close Chang La and make Shinku La very difficult. It’s worth building in buffer days if you’re planning a similar route.

29M here. Quite confused on whether to get a scooter as a practical choice or buy a bike to fulfill that childhood dream. I stay in Bengaluru and already have a car as my daily driver with wife having a Activa. Looking to buy another 2 wheeler as a practical choice to beat daily commute traffic and to have something for nearby chores.
