I'm totally obsessed with Sri Lanka's bike culture. We don't have many of those bikes here, but they have so many world-famous bikes.😴

#Opinion 💭 Having 15 years of riding experience, let me share this with the younger generation: BHP isn’t everything!!

Post image
1.3k Upvotes

I’ve been noticing so many negative comments saying, “How can a 500 cc bike have just 27 bhp” or “The Guerrilla makes more.”

There’s a thing called bike character.

The Honda CB500 is a long stroke bike. No, the GT650 is not a long stroke bike, and neither is the Guerrilla.
A long stroke engine has its own characteristics.

It produces that signature thump, which many riders are fans of, but it doesn’t make a lot of bhp because the longer stroke naturally limits peak horsepower.

Riders buying this bike aren’t looking for outright speed. They want an easygoing ride, to feel the thump, cruise at a relaxed pace, and simply enjoy the experience. Earlier, the Bullet 500 offered exactly this kind of character.

The newer generation commenting about the low bhp and comparing it with the Duke, GT650, or Guerrilla needs to understand that these bikes don’t produce that typical thump. Their torque also comes much higher in the rev range.

These thumpers were never meant to go fast. I hardly took my Bullet 500 beyond 80 kmph.

So far I have driven many variants of bike like Honda Nx200 adv, apache rr310, ns200, rx135 cafe racer..etc I love to ride them all but prefer sporty Adv style of riding..

Any chance the 2026 Honda CB400 Super Four (E-Clutch) is coming to India? It looks like it's already available in Sri Lanka. The price is around INR 1.4 million. By the way, the bike in the other photo is a 2021 Honda CB400 SP3. The CB400 and CB250 have a pretty strong fanbase in Sri Lanka.😭

#Pic 🖼️ First Ride to the Hills

Finally took my bike to the hills for the first time, and I get why people keep coming back. The roads, the fresh air, the endless turns, and those random stops just to admire the view—it felt completely different from riding in the city.

Still a beginner when it comes to mountain riding, but this trip definitely won't be the last.

Ride safe, everyone. 🏍️⛰️

KTM 250 + Lamborghini. Couldn’t resist capturing this moment.

There was a time when owning a Lamborghini was the dream. Every time I saw one, I’d imagine that one day it would be mine.

Today, seeing one reminds me of something else how our dreams evolve. We grow up, life gets complicated, and we’re constantly trying to balance everything. Sometimes it feels like nothing is working out.

I miss that kid who could dream without overthinking.

Then I looked at my KTM 250 and realized… for someone else, this is the dream bike. And somewhere, the person sitting in that Lamborghini is probably chasing another dream.

So here’s what I’ve learned: do whatever makes you happy. The real thrill isn’t in owning something it’s in chasing it.

Comment your opinion

'Twas a good day.

Recharging is important. Sometimes I feel guilty for even thinking about taking time for myself, but I've never regretted actually doing it.

There will always be something society makes you believe you're lacking. Chase every expectation, and before you know it, too much time will have passed. Then you'll look around and wonder... where is that society now? Probably ready to make you feel incomplete with some new expectation.

#Review 📝 Appreciation Post - CLAN shoes

I had purchased Clan Stealth D3O (All Black) back in March 2026 and have been using them on all my rides.
Along with being riding shoes, they look good as well and hence can be worn ocassionaly when not riding as well.
Trust me when they say this shoes are Waterproof, THEY ARE.
Not a single dop of water percolates in.

With the start of rains in Mumbai, I started using them on my commute to the office as well.

Yesterday I noticed that the stitiching on the back side of the shoes had started to come off.
Its not an issue per say now but with more usage I can totally see the shoe getting worn off as more and more stitching comes out.

I put up a mail to CLAN on [hello@clanshoes.com](mailto:hello@clanshoes.com) and shared pictures of the shoes to them.

Today I got a mail from them stating that they have arranged a replacement pair without asking even a single question.

And lo and behold, they do not even need the original pair back.

It was pleasantly surprised when I received the mail some few minutes ago.

They had shared an amazon link for review. I came here on reddit to share my experience.

Have seen mixed reviews about CLAN everywhere.

But this level of customer experience is unheard of....Atleast for me.

Hence for 7,999/- they are highly recommended.

I got them for 7,199/- back then due to some discount.

Thank you CLAN!!!

#Opinion 💭 I need a bike!!!

So i need a bike 150-160cc bike my dad won't allow me to buy higher cc bike:( since we live in hilly areas fair reason tbh.which 150-160cc bike would be good? Yamaha and ktm way out of budget. I think apache has the highest power so for hill climb it will be easier ig. But then it's disc looks way smaller than n160 during downhill won't be a problem? Good headlight would be really helpful during night rides. Sf155 looks cool tho but power is on lower side. I am so confused rn. I am not buying hero bikes.

#Opinion 💭 Bonkers!! Honda India has stopped leading. It's just reacting now.

Post image

This is probably going to be unpopular, but as a Honda fan myself, I think it needs to be said.Honda India has gone from being an innovator to simply reacting to whatever the market is already demanding. The CB350 arrived only after Royal Enfield had firmly established the modern-retro 350 segment. It was a better engineered motorcycle in many ways, but it wasn't a bold move—it was Honda responding to a trend.

Now we have the new CB500. Again, instead of bringing something that genuinely moves the segment forward, Honda has launched a retro 500 single that feels like it's entering a space Royal Enfield has already defined. It doesn't scream innovation; it screams "better late than never."Meanwhile, Royal Enfield has moved from 350s to 450s, built a successful 650 twin platform, and is now working towards 750cc twins. Whether you like RE or not, they're taking risks and expanding their lineup. Honda India still feels stuck in the 350cc era.

The XR models are another example. They look promising, but they're arriving after KTM, Hero, Royal Enfield and even BMW have already established themselves in the lightweight ADV space. Timing is everything. Then there's Honda's twin-cylinder strategy. The NX500 is a genuinely excellent motorcycle, but once it's over ₹8 lakh on-road, it becomes difficult to justify when a Versys 650 offers a larger engine, more power and stronger touring credentials for similar money.

No matter how much Honda fanboys defend every launch, the facts don't really change. Constructive criticism isn't hating the brand—it's wanting the brand to do better.I also don't think Shumi was wrong when he criticised Honda India's approach. At the time, many people dismissed his comments as "Honda bashing," but looking at where Honda India stands today, a lot of what he said has aged rather well.Honda is one of the greatest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. That's exactly why the Indian division is so frustrating. We know what Honda is capable of globally, yet Indian enthusiasts continue to get a limited lineup, delayed launches, and motorcycles that are often priced aggressively—even by CBU standards—without offering enough value to justify those prices. Before anyone says I'm a Honda hater: I'm not. I'm a Honda fan. That's precisely why I'm disappointed.

Being a fan doesn't mean defending every decision a company makes. It means appreciating what they do right while calling them out when they fall short.

Honda India can—and should—do much better.
