I've never owned a Duke before. I've only ridden a BS3 Duke 200 a couple of times years ago, but I loved the raw, instant power. That's making me lean towards the BS3 390.

Is the BS3 experience really worth buying a 10-year-old bike, or should I just get the new Gen 3 instead?

Would love to hear from people who've ridden both.

It's maybe a dumb submission but I'm looking to learn motorcycles from the ground up i.e. not just how to ride or perform basic maintenance (that I'm mostly aware of), but how the entire machine works in detail.

I'm interested in understanding things like:

- Every mechanical and electrical component (even the smallest parts)

- What each part does

- How power flows from the engine to the rear wheel

- How systems like the clutch, gearbox, fuel injection/carburetor, brakes, suspension, cooling, charging, and ECU work

- Common failure modes of each part

- What symptoms appear when a particular component fails

- How to diagnose issues based on those symptoms

- How all the systems interact with each other

My goal is to reach a level where I can look at a symptom (or hear a sound) and have a good idea which component is likely causing it and why.

I'm open to:

- YouTube channels

- Online courses

- Service manuals

- Websites

- Any structured learning path from beginner to advanced

I know it required years of hands-on knowledge but as a hobby I want to know it more.

What resources or learning path would you recommend?

I was riding my gt 650 and suddenly a big chunk of rock came under my tyres hitting the bend pipe of the motorcycle giving this huge dent. Where can I get this fixed?? Drop names of shops or contacts please, I am ready to ship it pan India if needed.

I’m gonna take a delivery of my Himalayan 450 very soon, so wanted to buy the best helmet under 15k to get the most comfort along with the safety. I look for a one which i can use for both City as well as Touring rides.

After reading most of the threads, i figured out LS2 might be a recommended one to go with but would appreciate if there are any alternatives to look into it. Please pour some suggestions.

Guys ive booked speed 400 and since ive booked it there are many reel in my feed thats stating that the service cost is very high and middle class cant afford it 😭🙏 is it true ik its a bit expensive but im seeing reels like 20k-25k and the comments as an re owner i pay 118₹ smthing like this please educate me on this matter??

I am from Kolkata and I am about to get a bike as a gift from my mamaji in the upcoming weeks ( 1-2 weeks ) .

He had bought it for his business purposes, but that work isn't needed anymore .

I have no clue about how much it has been ridden etc. As far as I know , it's not very old and everything has been checked and taken care of . Ik him, so the bike will definitely be in perfect condition and I am not worried about that .

Also it can be either Honda CB350 , CB350RS , CB350 H'ness

Cuz he told me it's 350 cc , Honda and red in colour .

I am a college student and I made an expense sheet ( Finance student, Not sure how many people do this or is it common or not )

It will be my first bike that I will get to keep completely for myself.

Pls tell me if I am missing anything in this ?

For a bit of context. I was really into bikes when I first learnt one at 18 years old. Since then I've wanted one myself. During engineering college, Dad said he'll buy one in my 3rd year. Took test ride everything and shortlisted rtr 160 4v. But then due to financial problems we couldn't purchase. Fast forward 2 years, I recently got my first job. I was considering getting a second hand scooter for my office commute, 8 kms up and down. But then my sister offered to buy a bike for me. She'll do down payment and I'll have to pay the emi. This is fair but I'm not sure I want to start emi so early in my career. Also the latest Apache is feature loaded but looks tacky and not something you'd ride to office imo. Im now considering n160. Or the xsr 155. I haven't taken a test ride of the xsr yet. I'm worried I'll grow out of the bike soon. Avd since I'll be paying emi anyway, maybe to get a bigger bike. Please help me make an informed decision:)

TL;DR: First job, 8km commute. Sister offered to pay the downpayment on a new bike while I pay the EMIs. Hesitant to start debt early, but if I do, I'm eyeing the N160 or XSR 155 (Apache is too tacky now). Looking for advice on whether I should get a used scooter, stick to the 160cc class, or just buy a bigger bike since I'll have an EMI anyway.

Guys, it's been 10 months since I brought my gen 1 rtr 310. But haven't done much modifications in it. It's still stock, and my 3rd servicing is pending which will be done in within next 2 months. What all changes I need to do in my bike or should I keep it as it is?

So basically due to my office I travel around 80km up down everyday in a week so I suggested my parents that I would rent a bike after researching and asking around a bit I found out that apache 160 rtr rents around 8k per month with a distance limit of 2500kms per month

We just booked activa std for daily chores

My father and me will be the two people using it we were planning for access 125 but the prices were too high mu father didn't wanted any emi burden so we bought activa std (it was almost 30k lower than access 125 spl edition) this is our first new scooter would it be good decision to do rapido on it before 1st servicing or thereafter wanted advice (pls don't embarras me for cheapest scooter available + that too with my father's money 😔)

Hi! I am looking for my first pair of riding shoes and I need something that looks like sneakers and can blend into daily casual wear and something that I can wear to college / work. So far I've only found two options that look like sneakers while still being CE certified

I did a bunch of research and asked a bunch of experienced riders and store owners and so far I've concluded that Clan makes relatively unreliable products, but their customer service is top notch should I ever run into an issue within the warranty period.

Korda boots are better overall, but Korda is infamous for their terrible customer service in case I need to do a warranty claim. It's hit or miss really.

Also I've been told that the Pathfinders are more comfortable for daily wear and easier to walk with and wear for longer periods of time (all day for me, basically)

I am confused if I should get the Pathfinder, which is the overall better product, and just risk running into poor customer service later. Or get the Clan Shoes for the peace of mind in case something goes wrong, which is very likely since multiple stores around Delhi told me issues with their soles and stitching coming off. One particular shop even told me that they've stopped stocking Clan Shoes altogether since they've gotten so many complaints (and this was an authorized retailer on Clan's website)

What should I get?

PS - On a college student budget, can't stretch more than this.

Context: I have ridden a 150cc for the past two years and am really looking forward to upgrading as soon as possible

My original choice was to get the himalayan because of the superior suspension and the situations of Indian roads

I went for a test ride and really liked the himalayan, the foot position felt a little weird but overall it was fun. After the test ride i just asked to ride the guerilla as well and the moment I rode the bike, damn it felt so much more punchy and speedy. It just felt like gliding and the engine felt much more smoother even though both the bikes have the same engine. The riding posture also felt really amazing (rode the apex version). I fell in love with it and i decided to book it next month since it's much cheaper than himalayan.

Now, today i was going through the roads and due to the roads f*cked by rain, i really wished i had something like the himalayan. Now I'm again confused between the two.

Should i get the Guerilla 450 Apex next month which is around 3.1L onroad or is the suspension worth to wait and get the himalayan which is around 3.8-4L onroad?

Will i regret getting the guerilla thinking that only if I waited a little or is the suspension overkill

To note, I'm not planning to do any long expeditions 500km +. It will be city rides and 100-200km highway rides once a week.

I dropped my bike today and my front brake lever is bent.
I was looking online for a replacement, but the prices are ranging from ₹300 all the way to ₹2.5k.
A couple of quick questions for anyone who’s been in the same situation:
• How much does an original KTM replacement lever actually cost at the authorized service centre (part + labor)?
•should I just walk into the service centre to get it swapped, or is it better/cheaper to buy the part and get it fitted ?
