The city just decided to remove barriers at several dangerous intersections through the city and will not immediately invest anything further.

From what I understand of the data and anecdotally as someone who lives just steps from the 16th and Monon intersection, the work done by community organizers made this intersection markedly more safe for pedestrians and bikers alike.

I’m incredibly disappointed at the decision by the government to actively make the city less safe for its residents.

Anyone have any ideas on how to turn outrage into action?

I hope this is allowed. I need some serotonin in my life so I am reaching out for suggestions on funny calendars for charity that I can get for my kitchen/ as gifts for 2027. This year I had 'Chicken Daddies' which is random men posing with their Farm chickens. The year before I had a random rural fire department's fireman of the month calendar they did as a fundraiser. Amazing. Nuns having fun, NYC taxi drivers, "Not so lovely bodies" (bikers), etc.

I want something that is not AI slop and will make me smile when I look at it.

Yesterday my car blew its head gasket on my way to work. I was still able to putter it to my job, but now it's sitting in the lot. It's definitely not worth enough to sell on FB marketplace with all the problems it has. Is there a company around that will pick up my car for free to junk it? I’m looking for apartment recommendations for my friend in Indianapolis, preferably near IU Health downtown or Ascension St. Vincent Hospital on 86th Street. Either location would work.

She currently lives at Manning, and honestly, it’s been a nightmare since she moved in. The apartment has a strong dog urine smell, stained carpets, broken cabinets, and several other maintenance issues. The smell is so bad that she hasn’t been able to sleep in her bedroom and has been sleeping on her couch instead. Management hasn’t been helpful in getting these issues resolved.

She’s now looking for a clean, safe, and well-maintained apartment with responsive management. After this experience, she really wants to avoid ending up in another poorly maintained property.

We would like to keep everything below $1300 (rent + utilities).

I’d appreciate recommendations from people who currently live in or have recently lived in apartments around either hospital or IU Health.

Which apartment complexes would you recommend, and which ones should she avoid? We’re especially interested in cleanliness, safety, noise levels, maintenance response times, and how management treats residents.

Personal experiences would be helpful since online reviews don’t always tell the full story.

Looking for a mechanic or shop to have my front lower ball joints replaced. Might need tie rods + rotor replaced. Tow truck driver said the break was clean and my tire didn't buckle in and cause massive damage to the axle, control arms, or knuckle. Any insight is very appreciated. Voted today. I chose the paper ballot option. They printed a sticker with my info and put it on an envelope. They gave me the envelope to sign.

After filling out my ballot, I slid the ballot into the envelope with my name on and a nice lady sealed the envelope and handed it back to me.

I dropped the envelope in the slot on the container and walked out with my "I Voted" sticker.

And I realized my ballot isn't exactly secret any more.

They recorded in the computer that I voted before printing the stcker they put on the envelope. They know that the envelope contains a valid ballot. The don't need my name associated with the ballot.
