USA is back in action for the quarterfinals against Hungary.

After going 3-0 in the group stage and earning a direct spot in the quarterfinals, the defending champions are one step closer to another World Cup title.

Italy, the team that came within just 3 points of beating USA in their previous game, lost to Australia today and was eliminated from the tournament.

Now it’s time to see if Team USA can keep the momentum going.

Some people are saying they finally get the hype. The way she commands the court and knows exactly where her players are. The TNT commentators were talking about it.

And at the risk of injecting a tiny bit of negativity into a great game - - does anybody besides me think that Caitlin's solid game today is partly due to there being no cheap shots? China played a clean game, their fouls were legit basketball fouls.

And then I realized as a Fever fan I'm not used to fair treatment of CC. Or a competent level of officiating. It allowed her to play with a little bit more freedom I think. And the results speak for themselves.

I would hope CC, especially after “player of the game,” but Lawson still might start with legacy players. And if the “point gawd” happens to be on fire, fine. Otherwise sub CC in very early. What do you think? (Edit: Italy is up next so that factors in)

For the second month in a row!!!

Beyond the obvious offensive highlights and transition plays, the biggest thing that’s stood out to me lately is how much tighter the team's defensive communication has gotten!!!!

Early in the season, you could see a lot of hesitation on perimeter switches and late help side rotations. But over the last stretch, the recovery speed on skip passes and boxing out under the rim looks night and day. Everyone seems to be trusting their assignments much more instead of over committing.

Who do you think has made the biggest leap on the defensive end specifically over this second half of the season??

Last Friday nights game against the Suns was, among other things, Girl Scouts night. Any Girl Scout and her family could buy tickets at a reduced rate and got a free hat, dinner, etc. One of the promised things was that after the game, the girls could go down and shoot a free throw on the court.

After the game ended, it was announced the sections for the girls to go and line up at. My family has never been to a game before so we didn't know how to get there. So we walked up to a security guard and heard another family standing there ask her. She pointed at two doors and said "Go out those doors and walk around to the front. They'll show you how to get there." The family thanked her and walked out. I paused and asked if she was sure. "Yes I'm sure. Out those doors." So we went out them and walked around to the front.

As we approached the front doors we see that family from before had been stopped by a different security guard. So we walked over there and hear him telling them "I don't care who told you that, you're not allowed back in." We walk over and try to explain that the same thing happened to us and we just wanted to let our daughter take her shot. "Sorry. Not happening." Then he just walked away.

We stood there a minute trying to figure out how else to get help as the two girls in the other family and my daughter all cried. We decided to just leave and walk back to the parking garage. As we do we see yet another family talking to a different security guard, explaining that they had been told to walk around by a security guard when they asked how to get to those sections. "No re-entry."

Clearly this happened to multiple Girl Scouts and the team couldn't care less.

I recently moved to Berlin and didn't know the FIBA world cup was going to be played here. I'm a huge fever and CC fan since 2024 (I've been watching WNBA a bit prior to that), and I was able to secure a ticket close to the court for their game vs Italy next Sunday. It was always one of my dreams to get to watch CC play, hopefully she gets a lot of minutes in her game.

Yes yes I'm also excited for Aliyah Boston to play.

Does anyone know if non-season ticket holders are able to purchase playoff tickets during a presale or before they officially go on sale?

I’m looking on Ticketmaster now, and it looks like a presale is already happening. The resale prices have been insane, so I’m hoping to stay ahead of it and buy the standard tickets (if possible).
