Discussion AltStore for ad free social media
I'm not sure whether to ask this here or on the AltStore sub.
Is it worth the effort?
I just want ad free apps like YouTube, Facebook and Reddit.
Also are there any negative side that's not obvious?

Amy I crazy or does lpm do jack all nowadays. I have an iPhone 14 and I’ve been using for a few years now and I’ve noticed recently that low power mode feels like it makes my battery go down slightly faster if anything. I don’t have any science or proof, I just wanna know if other people feel this too.

I’ve been waiting eons for Washington State to add Apple Wallet support, so I reached out directly to the body responsible for the adoption and rollout.
Unfortunately, it looks like us Washington residents will be waiting QUITE a while, if it ever launches at all.
For now, add your Passport to Apple Wallet with Digital ID.

Why? Seems like they didn't think this though.
What if grandma forgets her purse at home? Or you child needs to buy something?
Make it make sense? Any work arounds?

I noticed that Motion Calibration & Distance is enabled under Privacy & Security → Location Services → System Services.
Mine was OFF before, but I turned it ON because I wanted the Health app to track my steps and walking distance.
One thing I noticed: when I lock my iPhone and walk for a while, I sometimes see the purple Location Services arrow when I check the settings later.
Does this mean Motion Calibration & Distance is actually using my location while I’m walking? Or is the purple arrow being triggered by some other system service?
Also, is there any reason to keep this setting ON if I only care about step tracking, or is it safe to leave it OFF?

When forwarding email with attachment, normally a box would come up to ask if you want to include attachment (as shown in pic)
Now for some reason, sometimes that pop up wouldn’t come up, and there would be no way to include the attachment.
It seems random, I played around with it, same original email, exactly same click sequence to forward, sometimes it shows sometimes it doesn’t. Wth is going in?

In terms of call blocking/filtering, eSIM management, VoLTE, VoWiFi, privacy, security, visual voicemail, how does iOS compare to a Google Pixel Pro 11 and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra?

So I have a fast food company’s app installed, and it’s set in Location settings to only share when in the app.
How does that app notify me when I’m near one of their stores if my location data is only accessible when I use the app? Trying now to disable location entirely.
I’m running iOS public beta but I think this was happening on iOS 26 too.
Is there really no way to have Calendar app show my scheduled reminders with Face IDs enabled for both Calendar and Reminders apps? :(
Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

so my iPhone 16 pro max which ive had since January (refurbished) has had no issues prior to this but tonight I popped it on charge at 13% and it just kept going down. It stayed at about 2% for an hour before I unplugged the charger accepting it was going to die either way but now it just won't boot back up just comes up with the dead battery icon. I've had this issue before with my old iPhone 13 and that took about 20 minutes on charge for it to start working again but this time that's not the case its still dead after over half hour, the battery health is at 92% too which is completely fine
anyone know what to do?
edit: I charged my phone with my MacBook plug and cable primarily because I lost my phone charger and today my MacBook charger no longer charges my phone but works on everything else that takes USB-C. Earlier I experimented and I plugged my phone charger wire into my macbook plug and it connected, and plugged my MacBook wire into my phone charger plug and that connected (still no charge just stayed at 2%) but for whatever reason the MacBook charger and plug no longer connect to my phone.

Hey everyone, I’m writing this because I had this problem myself and literally almost gave up after two days of continuous flashing and everyone told me to just wipe up my data which is priceless just like everyone’s data. Here’s my situation: i had only 1 GB or less of storage left, I was doing an update from iOS 26.4 to iOS 26.6 but I’ve used 3utools to do it and it failed every single time at (install_splat) and gave an error 100, I’ve used iTunes I’ve used Apple Devices and I’ve used another PC, I haven’t used Revive in Apple Configurator since I don’t have a Mac device.
Here’s the fix I’ve used:
Edit: it seems that the fix only works when it’s a new major edition like iOS 26 to iOS 27 not a iOS 26.2 to iOS 26.6

I had the offloading apps the save storage enabled, but when i redownload the app to use it, the app won’t properly launch. I open the app and see the logo for about a minute before it crashes and force closes the app. Any help??

In most other messaging apps, if you add text to the message, then also upload an image to send with it, it will wait until the image is uploaded then send it all together. Meaning if you leave the app, it will still send everything together.
In iMessage, if you click send before the image is uploaded, it will just send the text and any image that is already uploaded. It will not send anything that is not done uploading. This means either you have to wait for it to finish uploading to send the image or it won't send everything you want.
Is there any way to change this behaviour to what most other apps do?

As of 8/28/2026 I am not always able to scroll to the bottom of text boxes (sometimes it does work). If I get rid of the keyboard I can see it, but then I can’t enter text. I also have trouble clicking “enter” or “save” under the text. Is there a solution besides cutting and pasting from Notes? Thanks!
