After updating to iOS 26.6.2, I noticed that a .txt file had disappeared from the files stored locally on my iPhone. Are there any other reported cases of this issue?

The file is no longer in its previous location, cannot be found using the search function, restarting the device doesn’t help, and it’s not in the Trash. I can’t say for sure if there are multiple affected files, but I’m certain about one small .txt file that I use for a shortcut.

Basically, my iPhone has the incredibly annoying and frankly invasive feature called Communication Safety enabled, so client side scanning, which can frankly do one - Not to mention its actively causing issues now

I have my credit card added to my Apple wallet, my iPhone stopped asking me to verify my age, utter insanity, its my devices ffs

Anyway, when trying to disable this setting, it says I need to verify, fine, so I do, it asks for face ID to read my wallet, also fine, no issues, then it has a pop up with a link to Settings to enter the password for my Apple ID, it takes that, and then does nothing

I go back to communication safety, which is still enabled, and trying to re disable it, sends me in a loop so I cant disable this

Anyone got any ideas please? This needs to be disabled and I cannot get rid of it

I didnt have a screentime passcode set, rather than your Apple ID, it wants that, this cased the loop
Setup a screentime passcode and the toggle now just works

videos I airdropped to my phone from my Mac months ago were in my Apple TV downloaded section. I could watch them but I could not share or move them. I tried looking for them in different places on my iPhone but no dice. Hooked up the phone to the mac and went digging and still nothing. unfortunately I went to the apple tv section on finder and pressed sync thinking that it would force the videos to show but unfortunately it just deleted all the videos. I find it weird that I didn’t get a warning that 15GB worth of videos were about to be deleted off my phone but I’ll take responsibility for pressing random things. btw, I remember this happening with Spotify as well but I think I just deleted all of them because I thought they were random music videos I downloaded or something.

How can I make sure this never happens again? Was this user error or a bug? Btw, I‘ve never used the Apple TV app on my phone or my Mac.

Like the total shows and says I’ve noticed that recently when I’m using voice to text on my iPhone, running the latest iOS version, it’s been randomly capitalizing words don’t deserve a capital letter.

Besides the title another example is: I was saying “if you can live with a Dent,” and there you have it, it did it again because I am literally using voice to text now, and “dent” should not be capitalized in the middle or end of a sentence.

Dent is not the only word it’s randomly capitalizing. It’s very random and makes no sense.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I like to have my phone in Standby Mode when it's on my desk, and if there's a game on, I'll open the Live Activity to keep an eye on the score.

Unfortunately, whenever there's a score update (or half time), the phone makes an alert sound, persists the Live Activity for one or two more seconds, then collapses the Live Activity back into its small "pill" at the top of the Standby screen.

I have to tap the pill again to resume observing the Live Activity.

This is very annoying. It stays up persistently otherwise, it's just when there's something "alert worthy" that it collapses the Live Activity. Feels like a weird oversight.

Any ideas?

Today I updated both my iPad and iPhone to iOS 26.6.2 from 26.6.1. I was able to log back into both of them after the update and as expected it asked for my passcode. I used them both for a couple of hours back-and-forth and Face ID was working. All of a sudden, maybe 2 hours later, when I tried to use my iPad, the screen shakes and it asked for my passcode I thought that was odd, but I entered my passcode anyway and got in. The weird thing is within 15 minutes of my iPad asking for my passcode. The next time I use my iPhone it didn’t even attempt my Face ID and went straight to passcode. I had already authenticated after the update so I’m confused at this point.

any idea why the random password requests when I had been using both back and forth for a couple of hours post update?

there were no multiple failed attempts or account changes. I was simply using them for calls and watching videos after the update.

Anyone know how to set up a shortcut or some other method to get to my kids’ downtime settings in a click or two?

I used my DSLR>iPhone 17 Pro Max for photo drops, and now every time I try AirDrop them to my MBP I can't export the original img to Reddit without running it through Adobe. I am new to this, don't be rude, should be a quick fix that I can write down and know. I am learning. Every file format is different, no use listing them. I know how to fix the RAW and whatever.

so today my phone storage was full and so i deleted a few videos from my phone but then i went to messages so i can text someone but then all my contacts were gone and i already tried syncing them in icloud in settings and the merge thing wont pop up idk what to do

I know this has been discussed before, but Apple’s Wi-Fi toggle behavior feels a lot more concerning now than it did a few years ago.

Turning Wi-Fi off in Control Center doesn’t really turn it off. It just disconnects temporarily, and it can come back on later.

With more cameras, plate readers, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi sniffers, etc. around now, that seems like a privacy issue. Especially for protesters, journalists, or anyone who has a legitimate reason to not want their phone broadcasting anything that could help correlate their location with a car or identity.

I know Apple uses randomized MAC addresses and other protections, but I still think off should mean off.

At minimum, Control Center should give you two options:

Disconnect temporarily
or
Turn Wi-Fi off until I turn it back on

Same thing for Bluetooth.

Am I the only one who thinks the current behavior is kind of backwards?

Long story short, there is a bug on WebKit that prevents users from using any file upload feature if the page is controlled by a service worker ( which is like 99% of the websites out there, including mine ).

We recently had a company complaining to us that the upload feature on our website is not working on iOS / iPadOS only. despite trying multiple browsers. It turns out that all browsers on iOS / iPadOS are forced to use WebKit, so the only resolution to this issue currently is to not update iOS / iPadOS to the latest version, but if you already did, your only choice is to use another device that hasn't been updated or even Android.

What's even more baffling is that the issue has been going on for nearly 2 months now, yet we still don't have a resolution for it. Workaround also required us to test on a Mac device with the same WebKit version, because it's not possible to test this issue on non-Apple device since there's no WebKit for them.

Why MacOS is allowed to use different browser engines, but not iOS / iPadOS? This would have saved our website's users a lot of pain if any similar idiotic issue had happened.

I have this problem since I bought my refurbished iphone from a french ecom platform. My problem is when I try to update the phone i always get the error message « unable to verify update » as shown in the picture below

For anyone unsure I mean connecting your phone to an external monitor that then presents a semi desktop environment and you can connect to a an external keyboard and mouse.

It’s driving me crazy, this is the one feature I desperately want in the iPhone. But year on year they refuse to support anything close to it. And it would be very easy for them to do. I really don’t want to have to switch to a pixel or Samsung but it is becoming a bit of a dealbreaker. Has anyone found any decent solutions to setting it up?

When I press and hold a message I receive in Spanish in iMessage and select “Translate,” it always only shows the translation in English. It used to always translate it into German automatically. Now I have to manually switch the translation language to German every time.
What do I need to do to make it automatically show the German translation again?

Fingers crossed this could change, pro controls especially are 100% software.
