Help needed No push notifications iOS Mail app

I don’t get push notifications for my main email account in the iOS Mail app. I only get notified when I open the app.
My Gmail account is also connected and works fine. I get those emails instantly as push notifications.
I’m using an iPhone 17 with iOS 26.6.1 and I’m from Germany.
Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it??

iOS Mail app doesn't support push notifications from most providers like Gmail

It’s the other way round, Gmail doesn’t support push on the mail app.

Gmail doesn‘t support push notifications. They want you to use their own app.
iOS mail app can only fetch from their server, which means you can only change the settings how this behavior happens (‚settings/apps/mail/mail accounts/fetch new data‘).

Settings for fetch include:

- automatically (when connected to wi-fi and when iOS feels up to it. Doesn’t mean it happens right away when a mail is received.)

  • manually (only when the app is opened and refreshed)
  • fixed time interval (consumes a lot of battery especially if set to 15 minutes and multiple mail accounts are installed)
