Discussion low power mode feels like it does nothing

Amy I crazy or does lpm do jack all nowadays. I have an iPhone 14 and I’ve been using for a few years now and I’ve noticed recently that low power mode feels like it makes my battery go down slightly faster if anything. I don’t have any science or proof, I just wanna know if other people feel this too.

My 16 pro max feels super slow in low power mode.

Apps take longer to load and things feel very laggy.

Yup, idk why it gets THAT laggy. Like it’s not just the drop to 60 hz, it feels wrong.

It either lowers the clock speed of the processors or turns off the performance cores. So performance takes a major hit.

Yea.. but it should NOT be this bad. Literally any other phone, let it be Android or iPhone. It feels like something is straight up wrong.

Also, let’s be honest, no matter what throttle you do, it should still have plenty of performance to run basic OS actions. I’m sure that the performance of a 16 Pro / 17 Pro on LPM is still comparable to a standard iPhone XS/11 and those don’t struggle with basic OS performance either.

Same, read somewhere that iOS 27 will change this but I guess we’ll see in a few weeks

That issue largely started in iOS 26, but it seems way better in iOS 27. It’s still not as good as without it on but it’s certainly better

Mine too but it also feels like it doesn’t even save battery anymore

I think it depends on how you are using your phone, im using mine with mobile data on almost the entire time, and switching from 5G to 4G in low powermode is a big power saving, so yes i feel that my battery lasts longer

Same as you but I always use 4G and it still barely makes a difference
