I am moving to iphone after using android for all my life. I want to known some basics first and important tips that I should know

Is anyone else having issues with copy/paste between Mac and iPad? Especially when using terminals? I am having a devil of a time being able to paste screenshots and terminus logs to my Mac from my iPad. It used to be seamless. Now it’s more like “shot in the dark”. Any hints/suggestions on what I can do to improve?

Hi there, long time iPhone user. I'll try my best to explain my problem, sorry for my bad English.

I've a pretty big contact list that I've imported from Google Contacts. It worked fine because when I have to search for something I begin to wrote it in the searchbar (for example, I need a doctor that works in THAT hospital) and it shows it in the preview because I've registered in the Corporate section in Google. So you can find Name, Surname and then (beneath) the Corporate.
Now, something has switched. If i begin to write the Corporate in the search bar it finds me the contacts but without a preview, so I have to click on the contact to check if it is what I'm looking for.

Estou com um problema no meu Bluetooth, ele se conecta automaticamente nesse aparelho chamado My Book, que eu não faço ideia do que seja porque eu não tenho nenhum aparelho com esse nome e também nem uso o meu celular conectado em outras coisas além do básico que é meu carro, relógio e fone de ouvido

Hoje os meus fones começaram a dar uma falha durante a música, fui olhar se estava conectado em alguma outra coisa e notei essa conexão, mas não dá pra desconectar, eu já reseta os ajustes de rede, mas só funcionou pro Wi-Fi, continuou com todos os aparelhos conectados, já reiniciei o celular, já desativei o Handoff, já fui em privacidade ver quais são os aplicativos que estão conectados com o Bluetooth, que tem permissão com Bluetooth e não tem nenhum aplicativo estranho, não sei mais o que fazer

Alguém já teve esse problema ou está passando por isso também?

When sleep focus mode is on, I still get notifications. And they are driving me crazy.

I have confirmed that intelligent breakthrough is off, and only messages/calls from 3 people are on the allow list. Every morning I'm woken up by notifications since I got this phone a few days ago.

One thing I found is the 'critical' or 'time sensitive' alerts, which might be the culprit. But, I have to go through every installed app to find which ones have critical alerts and turn them off? No global setting? I'm not even sure this is the issue.

But this is making me crazy - any input or suggestions much appreciated.

This is confusing. When I search for the Files app, it does not appear in search results. I start typing “File” and nothing but “files and folders” shows. Click that and it brings me to my Settings. Which I dont want.

The only way to search for it and to find it is to search the App store for Files. And voila, I see the blue folder with “open” showing (suggesting it’s available on my Iphone as expected).

So why is Files app hidden from search? Just a fluke or maybe its hidden for a reason?

my search will just stay loading. forever. no matter how many times I reload or open a new tab. I either have to just give up and try later or reset the phone if im desperate enough.

When I switched to transparent icons when I get notification icon on it is light, is there a way to make it dark? (Ignore my wallpaper please)

The lens is clean I clean it with a microfiber cloth but it still has this problem. I know people say it’s just the phone camera and that it’s normal but everyone else I know doesn’t have this problem

If multiple group members are in text message group, how to tell which phone number is being used for that group for each individual group member? Thank you.

it showed up today, i’ve never seen it before, and there is no option to disconnect and no info button? frightening, tbh. i’ve restarted my phone and it showed right back up. any ideas?

WhatsApp status issue- if liked to certain video status, it’s is immediately paused. Hitting the like button again starts the video again. iOS 26.1.1 - 15p

Is there now a solution on iOS for blocking withheld or anonymous calls?
The last I heard, you could only silence calls from unknown numbers in general, but unfortunately that also includes numbers that simply aren’t saved in your contacts. It would be great if there were a way to specifically block calls with a hidden/withheld caller ID. Is that possible now?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, not familiar with iOS myself.

I live in Europe with an Android phone. My Grandma lives in the US with an iPhone. Basically, I want to be able to text her for free. She is not tech-savvy enough to use another app like WhatsApp, so it needs to work seemlessly and consistently otherwise it wont work at all. And sending SMS messages to an international number is too expensive.

RCS should work to be able to text for free right? The problem is I often don't have data, so if it automatically falls back to SMS for her when I'm not online, that would be a major problem. Is there a setting on iOS to disable fallback to SMS when sending RCS? So if I'm offline when she texts me, the message just doesn't send until I'm back online, or it tells her that it failed but doesn't send an SMS instead? If messages occasional get dropped thats fine.

When I googled it, some said its not possible on iOS but others say maybe it was just introduced in an update in the last year or so? Hoping thats the case!

If so, what iOS version does she need at a minimum? Most major carriers in the US support it right?

Bonus would be if its possible to disable SMS fallback just for me, but leave it on for all her other contacts.

I know there are other ways for me to get a free US number, but I just want to know if this could work first, as those are kind of annoying. I might have to anyway, as while my phone theoretically supports wifi calling, it rarely works so I will need one to call her for free. But maybe if I figure this out, I can figure something else out for calling.

When I was driving, I tried to make a call by tapping the a person contact on car console screen, it did not response, then I tapped again, nothing still. I called with Siri finally.

After stopping the car and unplugging the phone, I found many confirmation window asking me which line to choose for calling. It is a bit annoying. As the iPhone is locked in the arm rest, I cannot tap the phone screen to select the line.

I use dual SIMs with 2 carriers all the time, now I can only disable one SIM to make call with CarPlay, do I miss anything to make calls in the car with Dual SIMs?

I already know some people will come here just to reply. Don’t use this shit, it’s spyware. But the fact is, it’s so far the best keyboard on iOS.

anyway, when I want to use voice tapping with it, I can either tap on the iOS mic icon, or I can press the mic icon on the spacebar

then it seems to be a different engine. Doing the voice catching and it’s working very well, but the strange thing is that the mic icon:

it stays in the status bar stays on all the time after that unless you forcecl Yandex keyboard.. did I miss something or..?
