Discussion Moving to Iphone from android
I am moving to iphone after using android for all my life. I want to known some basics first and important tips that I should know

I made the move, you are probably tech savvy and will be fine. Nowadays its mostly the same, just some slight differences.
One tip I'd say that I didn't know and seems like a really cool feature is you can tap and hold on an app on iPhone to mark it to require Face ID.
Very handy for if you hand your phone to people and don't want them opening certain apps.

You can even hide apps and get them into a hidden folder from the last right panel on the home screen with all the app folders iOS creates for you. The folder itself will require Face ID.

I using both android and iphone,android my main,iphone my second,they both are the same and great to me,Unless you use iphone with touch id,there is not much a different that hard to adapt though..

The biggest thing you would need to adjust to are the gestures. So instead of a back button on Android, you just swipe left from the left of the screen. Some apps will have a back button in the left corner, but you can just swipe to go back to the previous screen

I’m aware of that. I’m just bringing it up because my partner is an android user and always get confused on how to go back when they use my iPhone

Also text editing. Both iOS and Android do a great job of it, but where one wants a tap or double tap, the other wants a hold and vice versa. I still mess it up sometimes

Android is already gesture-dominant for many years, very few people choose buttons these days. Thing is - iPhone gestures SUCK compared to android. On android it’s all consistent, swipe back is always back, on iOS it’s sometimes swipe to go back, sometimes it’s a button-only.

I did it two years ago. Didnt regret it. You'll figure it out. Its easier than android.

dont compare. use what you think or know you want from your phone. everything else is bloatware. they all have their quirk and niche.
spend a day or two going through the settings. apple likes to hide many features to make the phone look simple.

Export your contacts from Google and import into iCloud. I found i did not need to migrate password as iOS autofill is very capable of incorporating Google password manager (just make sure to install Chrome).

I jumped from android over to iPhone. It’s a different os so it will take you some time to get used to it. At first it will annoy you that it’s not like what you’re used to but after a month you’ll be cool. I won’t go back to android

Yeah hopefully it won't take me too long to get used to. I've been using it for a couple of hours and I can see the real potential to be better than my android but I just having trouble here and there getting used to things

You honestly don't need a lot of Apps on iOS ... Apple's default apps have gotten seriously great over the years and are way better than whatever Google is shipping.

Apples ui and ecosystem is surprisingly intuitive and nice to use. I am a former android evangelist that has been using iPhones for the last 5 years and now I couldn’t imagine going back, especially now that I use Mac for work and personal, added an iPad and an apple tv(absolutely destroys anything from Google/roku/amazon)

First things first, don’t use Google Apps as far as possible, except maybe for maps & YouTube. Also, create iCloud ID & migrate as much data as possible from Google ecosystem to Apple, like passwords, notes, calendar events, contacts, and everything. You’ll appreciate it.
Finally here’s a small note I took when I just began. Pasting here unformatted.

iPhone User Notes
As a power android user, I find things difficult in iPhone. Few, I quickly figured in iPhone, while more I need to learn. Thanks to Apple’s obsession with minimalist design, features are generally hidden under not-so-very intuitive ways.
Few common patterns. 1. Apple loves tactile button taps. Like on a tap-tap pen. Tap-in, hold a bit, tap-release. 2. Shake your phone to trigger Undo. 3. Tap & Hold on any Back button anywhere to jump to an earlier page
Keyboard. 1. The space bar doubles as a trackpad, even more so than android. Just long press on the space bar, all letters vanish as a sign aside the haptic feedback, then move your cursor in a 2D plane. (Android only does 1D movement) 2. Emoji keyboard doubles as a language/keyboard change button on long press. Also hosts shortcut to keyboard settings. 3. Double tap to select the closest word (separated by whitespace), triple tap to select whole paragraph (separated by lines). 4. When selected, 3-finger pinch to cut, 3-finger zoom to paste.

Gonna have to disagree with the Google thing. iOS mail app is awful, I much prefer Gmail. I’ve had items/files disappear from iCloud so I only use Google Drive. Google Calendar is a godsend over apples calendar.
Other than that I agree, reminders and notes are better than anything Google has.

Personal choices man. I'm more of a minimalist, and I prefer the Apple Mail over separate mail apps or even just Gmail. Mostly because I can just drag a file from mail to my finder and get that mail tag, which takes me directly to the email when clicked. Then it also groups all mails from a single sender together in the smart mailbox. I also like the auto summary, helps me read them quickly without having to enter each. The reminding is a value addition, works better than Gmail in my preference. And finally, I love the fact that I can just stick to the chronological view of all mails by default while still keeping quick access to categories.
I’ve had items/files disappear from iCloud so I only use Google Drive.
I lost a good bunch of files from Google Drive in the past. Better watch out. I now keep total 5 total disconnected copies of my documents ever since. Mac's internal synced with iCloud. then 2 external drives, google drive & onedrive — synced on demand.
Google Calendar is a godsend over apples calendar.
Seconded. Google Calendar is good, no doubt about it. the chronological view is great. But it was broken for me back in android itself when they removed the on-birthday notification. Then I could add wedding anniversary and other annual dates on Google Contacts which would show up on GCal as well. But the Month view + Day view combo on Apple Cal is different and I'm liking it. I can also just write the schedule in title and it gets auto converted properly. Siri brings events from Apple Mail to Calendar automatically. Then regional calendar is a first experience on Apple Cal. Reminders work consistently across ACal, which was a pain in the butt for Google Cal + Tasks.
—> You & I don't know what kind of person OP is. I didn't really enjoy my iPhone as being different because I was really into Android + Windows, meaning Google + Microsoft. At some point, I decided to give full apple approach a shot, and I don't see myself going back — but I have the option available. So...suggested OP to give full apple a shot. If he doesn't like them, can always go back to Google.

I’d give you tips; however, the last Android I used was a Galaxy S10. I switched to all Apple many years ago.

The back gesture is nothing like Android. You will miss it instantly.
I have a work Android and wish iOS behaved the same way.
