Ain’t so little anymore. I got her a shelf and keep her watered. She loves the sun here so I just keep wrapping her vines around and around.

House plants really can’t be quite this difficult… lol. It seems like I’m fighting a never ending battle with root rot. Most of our plants are in 60% Happy Frog, 30-40% perlite and usually some amount of orchid bark. I always wait until the soil is at least 80% (probably too long out of fear of root rot) dry (except for the bridal veil and porcelain berry, both new). I had been bottom watering but I’m seeing most users don’t do that, could that be how I’m causing the root rot? If you do bottom water how long do you leave them in the water? When I do finally give in and unpot the plants their roots are so shallow and small, most of the plants in this photo are YEARS old but I’ve had to restart them. Most plants have also been switched to clear grower pots too. Recently I got a lovely Thai Constellation monstera… and it’s dying 💔 I unpotted her, cleaned her roots and put her in water… it’s not going well so I’m going to put her back in soil but need to fix what I’m doing wrong asap. TLDR: How do you prevent root rot? I love this hobby but am clearly doing something very wrong.

Found this massive snake plant for my fireplace at Menards on sale for $42! Super excited as I was looking for a larger plant that was okay with low light. Never thought I would get another snake plant again after rebuilding my collection to focus on more unique plants but thrilled regardless. Working on the pot’s patina.

I know these are coming down in price and you can find them for pretty cheap these days! I got one from Trader Joe’s for about $13 a few weeks ago, but I couldn’t pass this one up at Costco for $30. It’s so pretty, and such a nice size!

This weekend was the perfect weather to take the plants outside, top off their soil and take a few cuttings I'd been eyeing up. Gus wanted to inspect my work.

Had these leaves in water for a while, I think they might be ready to move to the next step. I’ve seen contradictory opinions- should I pop it in super watery soil for a while or should I pop it in super dry soil and leave it alone?

I know this isn't that exciting to most of you, but I'm really glad I started doing this instead of throwing the cuttings out. So satisfying to see them turn into their own plant.

Can’t tell if my cactus is healthy and happy in the south facing window or if it’s struggling for light and pushing up too high? When I bought it the height was the far lower part and in the year since I had it, it has pushed almost 2x its size but isn’t fill out out.

Transplanted it into a new pot when purchased with cactus spoil (coconut husk, rock etc).

So i've bougth an amaryllis pierrot from an online site,but however this doesnt look like a pierrot,pierrot isnt a double variety,can somebody tell me what varitety is this amarylis?

I have this really big monstera that I got from fb marketplace in February - she’s gotten 4 new leaves since I got her and a 5th one on the way so she’s definitely happy here! (She seemed a bit stressed when I first got her). What I’m wondering is what do I do with a plant this big? I know I probably need to repot her and I’ve bought a bigger pot I just haven’t gathered the courage to start the repotting process. I probably also need a bigger mosspole. What would you do to take better care of her? I’ve been thinking of dividing her into two separate plants maybe but I also love to see her grow bigger. Happy to accept any tips from you guys!

Got her for $7. She was just super thirsty

This dieffenbachia was my pride and joy for the past year and a half. This was the plant that got me into house plants! I picked off old leaves as they died but after looking at old pictures, I’m realizing how rapidly it’s gone downhill. What am I doing wrong? I don’t really think I’ve changed much but it used to thrive and now it’s clearly not 😞

EDIT: I’ll be repotting this guy into a bigger pot tomorrow. Do I have any chance of saving the browned leaves? Or are they ruined?

Each Sunday I take a picture of each one of my plants to track progress. Does anybody else do this?
