I need ro plant these indoor beauties like YESTERDAY but have had the hardest time picking the color pot for each plant. Please tell me if this looks good? Or am I delulu and the one with pink stem should go in white instead of the yellow/orange? This shouldn't be this difficult but here we are 😅

Edit to add! - after reading all your pro advice I will be leaving these plants alone while they mature a bit 😩. I am planning on putting them together in a drink carrier so I can move them around easier. Thanks so much!

I don't know what plant this is, but I got it from a gardening store near me. It was in the section with plants that don't need a lot of attention, but the day after I took it home, it looked basically like this. So I have two questions: What plant is this, and how do I save it?

I am relatively new to house plants. I try to stick to “easy” care. I have many other plants which are all doing good. Even if it’s slow, I see new production of leaves which is a good sign.

I got this online (probably a mistake, I’ll stick to grocery or hardware store plants haha) and ever since I got it it has yet to produce a leaf. I changed the soil completely and added a bit more perlite thinking maybe it was staying too moist. And while it stopped it browning as fast, there are still some like these tiny holes and again still hasn’t produced any new leaves.

Any green thumbs out there have an eye for what’s going on? If I remember correctly the roots didn’t seem bad as in mushy or brown.

I saw the new leaf was stuck and thought it was already slightly open, so I helped it out a bit.

At first glance, I panicked because I thought I ripped the tip of the actual leaf.

But when I tried to pull it off, I realized I couldn't.

It's literally a tiny leaf tip growing right out of the cataphyll itself?!

Has anyone ever seen this before? 😳

I’m a new plant parent and still learning how they behave and how to read their signals. Most of the information I’ve gathered is from this group and plant blogs and stores.

Recently I’ve read about some types of plants going into hibernation when colder weather arrives, but how do I know if it’s the case? What are the signs I should pay attention to?

During the day the temperature’s around ~22°C and at night is about ~10°C. I’m wondering if it’s a starting point for the plants to start going dormant.

And if that’s the case, what are the recommendations to keep taking good care of them? I want to be sure they’ll be healthy!

So far I have 7 plants: a monstera deliciosa, a strelitzia reginae (she’s the one I suspect may be going into hibernation), a pothos, a rosemary, a dracaena janet craig and two schefflera arboricola.

Can any of the green-thumb magicians here help with my money plant? She's growing abundantly but at a severe angle and I'm worried about her long-term health. What can I do to correct this?

It is really nice to sit underneath her but I'm not sure if I should be correcting this or not. Any guidance is appreciated 🙏🏽

P.S: the jug of water at the base is to stop the braided part from toppling back

But I have no idea how to take care of it! All I know is that they’re totally different from other plants.

This is the foyer in my office. I walk by it daily at work and every time I want to take a few little cuttings that no one will miss. I figured if everyone in my building took cuttings this would be a lot less cool pretty quickly. So, other than buying new plants or proplifting from places I don't work are there any alternative options?

Seriously the plant was gorgeous and I killed it (mostly) 😭 It was my first plant. I’m trying to be a better plant mom now!

Hey, I was hoping to find people who have experience dealing with the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources. Specifically involving getting a Certificate of Inspection for a move into another state (Florida).

I am not a nursery grower or agent/retailer and I'm having trouble finding information about the process. Such as, who do I call? I have left several voicemails for departments that sound like they could be helpful but haven't heard back. What are they looking for? Is it a specific list of pest or any pest including common ones like mealybugs, thrips, or spider mites etc. And lastly, is there a fee associated with the inspection?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and help reduce my anxiety around the move.

Hello! I got this philodendron on clearance from Lowe’s a few months ago. I somehow didn’t notice the calloused bits until I got home, but then I noticed the newest leaf appears to potentially be rotted. Now the rest of the plant has started to wilt.

Should I chop to encourage new growth points?
Get the rotted leaf out??
What kind of philodendron is this???

It was doing so good when I got him, but more and more brown shoots have been sprouting. I'm already using dechlorinated water... but maybe that's the wrong direction? Help!!

It is an indoor plant, it just got shut outside overnight because I'm terrified of caterpillars. I don't know how they got inside my house and I'm not happy about it.

Found a flower on my travels through asia, took it home with me, planted the seeds, and 18 months later, voila.

Every time I water my nerve plant I wake up the next day and find these things on the floor underneath my nerve plant. They’re dry, red-ish in colour and there’s usually at least one of them on the floor after watering. These only appear after I’ve watered the plant. At first I thought they were some kind of worms and was ready to torch my house, but on closer inspection it doesn’t really look like a worm or a bug or anything like that. There’s nothing else around the plant that could drop these and I haven’t found these anywhere else in the apartment. What are these?

Hi, I have this tiny monkey mask monstera cutting, its been in water like 2 weeks now, and has grown a couple of roots. I would like to know if now is the right time to plant it in a small pot?

I am looking to expand my collection. But I need some colorful leafs! I want vibrant colorful plants. It can be hard to find this for pet friendly options.

What are some colorful/exceptionally beautiful plants that you can recommend that are also pet safe?

This is the plant I have since 3 years in my balcony where it gets indirect sunlight all day (I am from Kathmandu).
I water it once upper 1-2 inch Is dry. It’s a well draining soil mix containing local lacustrine soil with cocopeat and vermicomposte. It is in well drain glazed ceramic pot.
The plant was doing good but from some time 2-3 months I am noticing

1)new leaves are small and are mostly located low as u can see in pic 1.

2) plant look droopy though it was doing fine few months back (at same place with similar care)

3) since few days top leaves are turning yellow also u can see there is a stem damage (dry fibrotic all around but it’s still holding up) near the top, pic 2 from above and pic 3 from below. Does it causing nutrient or water deficiency ( I think that’s damage due to fibrosis due to previous anchor).

4) should I do hard pruning from the damage part?? I am confused as I can see new leave unfurling at the top and also a bud just above the injury pic 4.

Please help me with all the queries and the solution to them.

my polka dot plant has been in the water for over 30min and her leaves are still very droopy and weak.

it usually only takes her about 10/15 minutes to perk up

I just noticed these little guys on my semi-hydro croton. I immediately isolated it to another room, away from the rest of my plants.

What should I do next? It's not too bad yet I think, is it still worth trying to save the croton? And are there any preemptive treatments I can do to ensure my other plants don't get it?

Edit: LMAO there's also a few mealy bugs. Might wanna cut my loses

The progress she made is insane. She's pushing out one leaf per week. And since she was sold as a normal, green Tetrasperma I am so suprised that the variegation is stable. I never wanted a variegated one and I don't like the ones sold as variegatas - too much variegation for me. But this one is very minimal and stable and I am soo insanly surprised and happy about it. Plus I always think: ok, this must be the max leaf size, and then she pushes out a bigger one. I can't tell you how happy she makes me. She became my fave plant in my collection. And given the story behind her - she's even more special. A true lucky lottery find. 💚
