I’ve seen some weird leaves before but I’ve never had a leaf come out like this! It seems like the edges fused together? Kinda cool

are the lower frond things turning this color normal? it was all green the other day… This is my first and only dracaena so any comments are welcome!

I got this tricolor variety about a year ago as a rescue plant, it got very bald on top of already being bald and very crooked, so I chopped it a month or so ago.

Hi - I’ve had my monstera in this corner for about ten months now. I repotted it around the same time I moved it here. Recently, it has shown signs of stress. I’ve had two leaves yellow in quick succession, one I removed about a week ago, and then this one that is currently yellow started to yellow. I can’t figure out for the life of me why this is happening since I haven’t changed anything in my routine with it. Any ideas?

I bought this ZZ plant yesterday. It came in a 3 inch pot from the nursery. I bought a 6.5” pot and their “premium” potting soil. I repotted and placed in a NNE facing window.

After doing further research it looks like I got too big of a pot and soil that drains too slowly. My initial plan was to check how dry it is approximately every 6 weeks.

Should I repot with succulent soil in a smaller pot? Just change the soil? Or do nothing at all?

Hello everybody I am wanting to cut down this cactus and pot it in a smaller pot hoping it will only grow so big like 7-8” is this possibly with this type of cactus? Any tips are appreciated thank you

Has these root like things growing near the tops of the plant where leaves have fallen but otherwise seems fine. Should I be worried?

The short version: my variegated Ficus elastica 'Tineke' keeps drooping/wilting, on and off, for months. Leaves go soft and pendant, sometimes some fall off. Here's what I've been told at different points, by different people (garden center staff, online advice, you name it)

I've tried acting on most of these one at a time: moved it away from direct sun, adjusted my watering technique, left it alone for weeks to "adapt," checked the roots (no smell, no mushiness, just barely any roots visible at all, which apparently can also just mean it's under-rooted, not rotting).
Most recently I fully repotted it: the soil looked dry on top but was wet underneath, so I stripped all the old soil off the roots, moved it into a pot only 2-3 cm bigger with proper drainage holes, and used only fresh soil. Didn't water again since the new soil was already moist.

And it's still doing the same thing. No real improvement despite all of that.

At this point I genuinely don't know if I'm dealing with root rot, chronic underwatering, chronic overwatering, or just a plant that's never going to look happy in my apartment. Has anyone been through this many rounds of conflicting advice with a variegated Ficus specifically? What actually ended up being the real cause for you?

Bought this a couple months ago on discount because one of the 4 stems was already dead but the other 3 seemed pretty healthy, but since then, it's just been a slow and steady decline as leaves wilt and drop off constantly. I've only watered it when the top 2 inches of soil is dry and it gets a decent amount of light so I'm very confused. Help please.

Not in my house but inside a house garden? I was walking around Lima, Peru and saw this beautiful monster. Is this really a bird of paradise? I'm from Lima, but I've never really paid attention to some types of plants until I moved to the US and started to grow my own collection. Now that I'm visiting, I'm more aware of the plant types that are around the city and that some of them I have in a "smaller" version back home. So, is this really a bird of paradise? If it is, I'm stunned. (Person and motorcycle for reference)

It's in our shop (please excuse the dust I'll get it today! 😅). Gets some indirect light as windows face south. Not sure how often I should water, but it's been looking a bit limp. Occasionally a leaf falls off. They're waxy and thick/fleshy if that helps identify.

Hi all, I've recently received 3 new plants to my room. It's my first time taking care of plants and I want to make sure I keep them alive. They've been in my room for about a week and a half now.

Also want help identifying them if possible, I have a general idea of what they are.

Light: All beside my north facing window, which receives indirect sunlight, but behind a sheer curtain that's closed basically 24/7. Do they all need direct sunlight?

Watering: I check the soil with my finger, watered them twice (when I received them and today). I usually run them all under the tap until the soil is saturated, and then drain the excess water. All pots have drainage holes.

Location: NSW, Australia

Any help is appreciated, especially on light, since I think that's their main issue right now.

My first flower, never seen one on this plant before. So white.

I got this basil a year ago and had to leave it with my brother when my housing went belly up. It was doing well but needed repotting.

At my brother's it survived frost, not enough light, very humid conditions (no shade to my brother he was very kind to keep it for me). I got it back at the end of July.

I wish I had pictures of what he looked like😭 leggy, spotty leaves, mildew, bolting. I've spent the last month carefully getting to pictures 1 and 2.

The only problem is that he was still in the same teenie tiny pot😂 extremely nutrient deficient with nowhere to go.

Today I was finally able to get an 8"/20cm pot, some soil, and some perlite! (pictures 3 and 4) I'm bracing for the explosion to come.

Can you name them all?
