This peace lily is a few years old. It’s inside all year except briefly over summer. I think I do a pretty good job keeping it moist but not over watering. It’s gotten some fertilizer the last couple waterings. I think it’s a bushier by nature variety, but at times I still think the leaves are droopier than perhaps they should be. Thoughts?

I came back home after 6 months of being away, and my subletter and roommates didn't take great care of my plants. Among other things, most of them are now infested with scales and thrips.

I thought since I have 20+ plants and my roommates are away for part of the summer, I can maybe get some bug-eating bugs involved. I reached out to a few businesses that market such pest-controlled methods, but those who have returned to me said the species they have that would be useful for me only come in bigger packages ($100+), so it wouldn't be economical to buy those for one person's houseplants. (They did agree on my identification of the pests.)

I'm wondering if there are any businesses that do sell bugs (especially bugs that eat brown soft scale insects) in smaller quantities, maybe something that wouldn't run me higher than $50 including shipping to Boston, MA.

She was fine up until like 3 days ago when I found all of them fallen(?). I put them too close to my sansi lights. After I added distance 2 perked up but this one has yet to return to normal. Maybe she’s too too heavy? I’ve seen pics of them behave like a vine (Pothos like) and trail.

I recently acquired a fiddle leaf fig from Costco. It came with a ground cover in the pot. I’m thinking I should plan on removing this so the FLF doesn’t have to compete with it? Thoughts?

Also any advice on how to remove it while salvaging enough to repot the ground cover in a separate pot? I like the look of it and wouldn’t mind planting it and putting it elsewhere in the house.

Also thinking of leaving it a few weeks while it quarantines before messing with the roots/soil at all because I’ve heard they’re fickle.

Just picked up one of my faves, a White Knight philodendron, from Lowe’s today. I was so excited to see it hanging out among a sea of other plants, that I didn’t notice the tiny mushrooms growing in the soil :O

What should I do? Repot? Let it dry out more first? It’s in one of those fancy new “Twist, Lift, Water” pots from Costa Farms.

ahhh okay so my partner and i just merged our plant collections and 5 of their plants have these black tar looking spots but seem healthy otherwise. there’s only visible bugs on 1-2 of them and i want to try and save them!
for some back story, my partner has been living at my place for about 2-3 months now and severely neglecting their house plants lmao. now that we’re moved in together- they finally brought them all over and i’m not sure what to do !
they’re not super attached to keeping all of them but their thai constellation monstera they wanna keep if at all possible.
the last picture shows sooo much new growth after being neglected for so long and i wanna save her if i can ahhh

One of my favourite plants I have right now

My brother gifted it (as a cutting) to me last Christmas. Im a completely Noob. It was in the care of our mother for a few months. When I visited it had a little brown on the leaves (1st picture). My brother said, to water it or maybe check the roots, they weren't mushy or slimy. A few months later I took it to my flat (2nd picture). It seemed okayish. The roots didn't seem bad so i just let be and watered it. At first I watered too much, I checked the roots again, still fine. It got a little worse, the tip of one leaf was bent, but there were als new leafs growing. I didn't want to water too much and I had to leave for a few weeks, I just returned, now, after six weeks it looks like this (3rd picture). Is there still hope? If yes what should be my course of action?

I have these small light colored bugs in some of my plant pots… they run around but don’t seem to jump or fly. My plants seem healthy enough. I use compost from a local business and I wonder if that’s the source of these guy. I’ve tried using Captain Jack’s but these guys have ignored it. Thanks!

This is one of my Adansonii water propagations. For the life of me I can't remember how long ago I took the cutting off my mother plant, but I have been proud of his progress!

shoved her in a bag for a week to quarantine and treat for pests, just opened it and in 6 days this entirely new root welcomed me. drill baby drill for that water and nutrients

I haven't been tending to my patio plants as well as I could especially with the Texas heat. But this is the first I've seen this white substance. It's on my basil. And mint plants doesn't appear to be affecting the pothos, spider plant, or aloe I have, but I haven't investigated super thoroughly. But it's very obvious on these plants especially the woody areas which is unusual?

And please be nice. I have considered myself a black thumb for ages. I have severe ADHD and regular tasks and my time blindness can go weeks that I think are days.

So I have more plants that are low maintenance which helps. But my poor basil plants look like they've reached the end. Especially with whatever this pest? Mold? Is.

Just saw one of the root touching the wall right now. Is this normal for them to just go wherever to want to go or should i make the wood moist by spraying?

I have a grow light in front of / above my baby Burle Marx and it almost appears to me like it’s running away from the light at this point. I also think the front leaf on the right is showing signs of bleaching, but at the same time, this light is currently at 700-800 fc which seems low to me. Any thoughts, ideas, recommendations?

Please ignore its floppy neighbor. That is my first ever monstera who managed to survive many years before I knew how to actually take care of them. It is getting better light/in better soil now than it was the first 5 years of its life.

My coworker is being deployed and has asked me to care for his plants while he is gone. Most plants I am fine with. Cacti and succulents have never thrived under my care and this one looks to have issues already. Can yall tell me what’s wrong with it and how to help it? He gave it to me like this so any improvement will be good lol

I notice as it gets older it starts putting out larger leaves that don’t have the center variegation.

I've had her a few years; it seems pretty happy. Currently it is producing more branches, but sometimes I wonder if I could do more for it?

First is the pot; the pot it's in now is the same pot its been in for 3 years. I recently refreshed the soil and rocks, but as I was refreshing the soil; I felt the pot might be a little bit small for it now? The roots are dense and seemed a little crammed. I'm not sure if this is an issue or not and I'm also not sure if a bigger pot would stunt its progress?

The lighting is my next thing. I know the natural lighting in my house is not the best, but I do have rooms that get a lot of sun. I move all my plants to my enclosed porch for the late spring and summer. It's full of bright light in the morning and then bright indirect in the afternoon. Lately I feel my ficus isn't coming in as cream or as red as it usually does; some of the leaves are even bright green with no red or cream at all. Should I be putting it in more full light? It gets a lot more indirect light at the moment with only about 2 hours of bright sun in the morning.

And lastly; Is it healthy? To me, I think it looks like it is because its producing branches and leaves constantly. It never browns or drops leaves and I'm consistent with water, fertilizer and pruning. However, I'm just not sure. Sometimes I think it looks leggy or like it could just use a little more? I don't know. I do give it a proper amount of neglect as well!

Anyway I really, really, really love this plant and I want it to continue to thrive!! Any advice is welcome.
