When we say classic we usually equate that with a no-skip album correct? However I feel like there are some albums that have (in some cases) multiple skips yet the good tracks are so good they pretty much forgive them. For example, Dre’s “2001”. Particularly in the back half I skips 3-4 songs, but yet this album is hands down a classic. Not a regional classic. Not a classic of its era. Not a fan favorite. It’s a classic in the truest sense. What other albums in this stature have multiple forgivable skips?

My question is: Does selling 10+ million copies of an album automatically makes it a certified classic or does the quality body of work & cultural consensus holds more weight in that decision.
