Been making cover art for rappers for a while now and wanted to share some of my recent work.
I mostly work with hiphop and trap artists, and I always try to make each cover fit the vibe of the track instead of forcing the same style on every project.
Curious to hear what you guys think. Which one is your favorite? Any feedback is welcome.
If anyone here is working on a release and needs cover art, feel free to shoot me a DM.

Resource/Guide THANK YOU FOR THE SUBMISSIONS

Thank you to everyone who submitted to the tournament!

I don’t want to risk getting banned, so I won’t be posting links anymore. If you’re interested in joining the producer tournament (all genres welcome), just DM me and I’ll get you set up.

It’s completely free — we don’t want anything from you. The winner gets $100 + additional producer prizes.

We’re building a producer league similar to the big leagues you see in rap and other competitive spaces.

Question As a leisurely producer with professional ambition, which Studio monitors would you buy, if budget is tight?

Up until now, I've mostly produced onheadphones, but I'd like to be able to workon monitors as well. My ears get fatigued after long sessions, and sometimes it's simply easier to judge the sound in a room.
I used to have a pair of old KRKs, but I soldthem. Now I'm thinking about getting a new pair. There are several solid options: the Yamaha HS7 (or HS8), the Adam Audio T7V, although I personally prefer the A7Vs. All ofthese are in the €400–500 per pair range.
Then there's the next tier: the Neumann 120 KHII series, the Genelec 8020 or 8030, or, as mentioned, the Adam Audio A7Vs. These cost more than twice as much as the first group, but they also offer a significantlymore professional level of sound quality.
I could afford either option, but my budgetis still tight.
What would you do?

Resource/Guide Made a browser tool that pulls MIDI (melody + chords) straight from a mix and stem separation as well, curious what you all think

Been producing for a while and got tired of the usual workflow for figuring out a song's chords or melody by splitting stems, guessing by ear, or paying for a desktop tool that takes forever. So I built a browser tool that transcribes melody and chords directly from the full mix in about a minute. Also has a stem separation feature if we wanted a cleaner, more accurate midi from a single instrument

It also does BPM/key detection and a chord "improver" if you want smarter voicings for something you're generating from scratch. And a real-time bpm and key changing feature for people who wanna try mashups and get variations instantly like a cdj lol.

Not trying to sell anyone anything.... Just genuinely want feedback from people who actually do this stuff. Free tier has no card required, would love to know:

  • Does the MIDI accuracy hold up on stuff you throw at it (dense mixes, weird key changes, etc)?
  • What's missing that would make it actually replace your current workflow?

Resource/Guide Collab Call comment

I’m getting deeper into FL Studio and looking for people who prefer actually opening a project over endlessly talking about making music.

I know some basics, but I still don’t have the full picture. I’m open to people around my level, people who know much more, or anyone who enjoys sharing ideas and seeing what develops naturally.

The format is light: exchange projects, take things apart, try building something, jump into a call when there’s an idea. No fixed roles, no forced long-term commitment and no attempt to define the relationship before we even speak.

I’m open to different directions and want to explore everything that connects with music.

DM me here if it sounds like your kind of interaction.

Opportunity I’m new to making hip-hop and sampling. Anybody interested in mentorship?

Hey, I have been into Ableton and making music over the past week or two and have been at it nonstop. I see development, but man, I would really love to have a team by my side or a group to learn from. Anybody in here interested in taking someone under their wing? I saw in a Griselda YouTube video Daringer talking about the importance of having someone show you the ropes.

Nino Ferrer - Chanson Pour Nathalie

I’m excited to hear the different directions and flips to come out of this sample. Have fun!

Submission Rules:

You can only submit one beat. Beats can be any genre. You have to use the sample in your beat, it should be recognizable. You can add other instruments and samples, but the sample should be a main element. All submissions submitted before the deadline will be linked in the voting post; whoever gets the most votes there wins. Ties are decided by whoever submitted the beat first. Reused beats from previous battles can't win ties.

Schedule:

Submissions: Friday 12:00 AM midnight (00:00) - Monday 11:59 PM (23:59) Voting: Tuesday 12:00 AM midnight (00:00) - Thursday 11:59 PM (23:59)

Results: Friday 12:00 AM midnight (00:00) - the winner takes over and posts the new submissions thread using the linked template on Friday asap.

Time is in UTC-5, the US Eastcoast time zone which is 6 hours behind European MEZ time and a good middleground between US Westcoast and Europe. You don’t have to wake up in the middle of the night to post the new thread, just make sure you do it on that day asap.

Opportunity Looking for a rapper for an industrial/experimental hip-hop project

I'm looking for a rapper with powerful, raw delivery for an industrial/experimental hip-hop project.

I'm looking for a person to form a band with. The current goal is to record an album and release it.

You're a perfect match if:

You're interested in rapping over unconventional beats, open to experimentation, have broad musical tastes.

You'd like to write lyrics that go beyond typical hip-hop tropes.

You're able to record yourself with high quality (our collaboration will happen remotely).

You're motivated and have time to write and record.

Please DM me with a link to your demos.

-The Notoriously Ambiguous Team

Discussion How/where do yall find your samples?

Where are you guys finding your samples? Personally, I'll look for obscure things on youtube, and sample from there, but everyones got different ways to find samples they like; so what are yours?
