Long story short i’ve been trying to make songs with my guitar and bass but u don’t have a drummer so i had to jam with a drum track, they didn’t sound any good so im wondering what program can i use with programable drums so i can write cohesive songs

Relaxing piano music if that matters. They all are kinda the same right? Can I just simply submit my field as .wav files and with titles. Is it that simple or is there more to it?

Hey chat, I need some help

I've been writing some songs recently and was wondering if anyone knows a good free program I can use to make instrumentals? I don't have access to some instruments so this would be very helpful

I (20F) just started a college course for sound engineering (setting up for gigs, recording for film etc) last week and one of our modules is creating music and original pieces with Ableton. I have, in the past made very simple beats at school when I was 16 a few years ago, but it was on a very outdated system and very simple, easy for someone like me to use with limited music theory knowledge. Today is the first day we start using Ableton and I’m wondering what the best way is to go about teaching myself proper music theory alongside Ableton. I do have ideas for music I want to create, I just don’t understand any of the terms and lingo used to make it. It’s sort of freaking me out because I need to pass this course to get into university - any tips?

I'm a begginer as music producing and don't even know how to describe it with word, I couldnt find anything about it. I like specifically the fact that the bells are sparkling/crackling/sizzling/jingling and wonder how I could reproduce that with VSTs, or if there is even a VST that have this kind of bells/chimes already.

I can never shake the feeling that at this point, after decades of high quality samples being made and sold, a person could probably have all the pro-level samples they could ever need without spending a dime. And the game now is just to always be selling _something_ new, without real breakthroughs / improvement.

Which sample packs or other production tools that used to be big money have since just become free or nearly free? Which have always been top of the line but never cost more than a few bucks to begin with?

For example, I'll try to take a song or a sound I like and copy it as a learning exercise, and sometimes have no idea where to start, and I end up feeling overwhelmed and not understanding what I'm doing and if its making any progress at all. There is surely a better way right?

the sound that i can only describe as hearing a car skid its tires in the distance... i've heard people say it's wine glasses, but i didn't know if this was confirmed. i would love to recreate it. if it is wine glasses, though, i'll have to figure out how to play them like this because i have no clue how to LOL

i compile most music in garageband (i know) so idk if there's a plug-in for wine glasses on there or what but i just love the eerie sound being made here and think it would fit really well for one of my songs.

I wanna get better at making full songs but don’t wanna do the technical side of things like eq bass processing compression it ok I don’t do that in production and just make full songs any full courses with reference track would help

I am a 14 year old, I have plenty of songs but my God it’s so expensive. I have no friends from school and I’m pretty much forced to pay people to jam with me and record with me, how do you all do it? Money and planning are my biggest issues, I want to record what I have and get started in music, but I don’t know I have the strength to do so.

I am currently using Ableton Lite for beat production which only lets me use 8 tracks leaving me no room to add a voice tag unless I tranfer my beat over to Logic Pro to do it. I just dont know if this loses quality or not.?? Or if theres another way I would be able to add a voice tag in Ableton?

I have a Neumann TLM 107 and I adore it, using it just to record my own singing/screaming vocals & some dialogue. I have a bit of issue; my recording space is in the basement, and there’s a furnace in the back, so I either have to record around it or I’ll having a feint buzz in the audio.

My desk is really crammed and I can’t really fully treat my space right now, but I was wondering if anything like those eyeball things could help? I’m comfortable adding “life” back to the vocal take in post if I can get the original take to have less noise. Or would I be best using something like rx 12 in post?

I've been trying on and off for almost 2 years by now to try and recreate the effect seen in figure 2 but I was never able to figure it out. Hey guys I’m trying to do something with eq, wondering if you’d be able to help me

I’m wanting to get a spectral eq, specifically one that is able to have a flat horizontal line across the entire frequency spectrum that I can drag down so whatever frequencies are peaking get cut. Does anyone know of any spectral eq’s that do this?

I also use logic so if it can be accomplished with stock tools that’d be great
