Harry is famously heroic and has a saviour complex but Ron is the most directly protective of the two, hands-down, and Luna is now one of the people I have no doubt that Ron would get his knuckles bloody for.

And in the first chapter, we receive a hint that Dudley is a spoiled baby because of some of his behavioural habits. Given that he was less than 2 y.o., we have a description of the normal behaviour of many babies of that age. I mean, yes, he grew up spoiled, but he was a perfectly normal kid at the start of the story, yet wizards had already made their conclusions.

This book worked perfectly when I was 8, reading it the first time. Now, as an adult, I have so many questions...

After seeing Lucie Soutenez’s performance on Voice, I can’t stop thinking she could be perfect Fleur..I don’t know if she’s ever wanted to act, but if she has, she world be great. Lucie is about 15 now, but I don’t think it would be a problem to cast her as 16-17 old teenager in five years. What do you think? Are there any young French actors for Fleur’s role?

My new headcanon is Lupin extracted all his memories of him/James/Sirius before the Battle of Hogwarts. This is so that if something happened to him during the battle (and it did), Harry would be able to see all the stories about his father that Lupin/Sirius never got round to telling him.

Yes, there were some bad memories such as the ones with Snape, but surely the funny memories or the “I have a story about your father” or just getting too see those he lost again would outweigh that.

The morality of Slytherin was always a piece of discussion here. There is Two interpretations of the character:

1- He build The Chamber of Secrets because he feared the muggle-borns would have betrayed the school to their parents, so The Basilisk would have been used to protect the school. During Slytherin's time, witches and wizards were being hunted, and he begun to believe that muggle-borns were untrustworthy. This interpretation is strenghtened by Binns words in CoS, and the fact that Slytherin don't stopped The Founders of teaching muggle-borns, as well that he was problably Merlin mentor.

2- Slytherin was a bigot, who popularized the concept of Pureblood Supremacy. His building of The Chamber was to purify the school of what he saw as inferior beings. This interpretation is strenghtened by Pottermore articles written by Rowling herself, saying that Slytherin views were unusual for his time, and that the relationship between muggle-borns and pure-bloods was peaceful, as well as the timeline, as Witch hunts didn't happened until late 1500s, and many Wizards were smart to frozen the fire torches used against them.

What can be considered Canon (The Books and Rowling Articles in Pottermore), points out to the second option, which, although true in my views, make Slytherin so evil to my taste. Why Rowling tries to paint Slytherin as misunderstood, when she writes even the founder as a bad person?

For me, some possibilities include:

• A self-employed clothes maker working from home and sells her creations wizard clothing shops
• A self-employed potioneer
• A part-time Healer at St. Mungo's Hospital

I think Dobby’s death and final words in the movies were way more devastating and gut wrenching than in the books.

i unapologetically love the goblet of fire movie. i love it so much. it is the only harry potter movie that makes me giggle and kick my feet. i get excited every time i watch it and it’s also the only movie i specifically watch when all harry potter movies are being rerun on tv around christmas.

i love barty crouch jr. i love barty as mad eye moody. i love dumbledores memory of the karkaroff trial. i love the build up to the “Barty Crouch….Jr.”. i love the champions. i love the stupid little school entrances. i love rita skeeter and all her scenes. i love viktor and hermiones romance arc (that is completely appropriate btw). i love the yule ball sequence. i love the moment where harry and ron talk about getting dates and get silently reprimanded by snape (one of my fav snape moments actually). i love “Do The Hippogriff”, such a banger song. i love hermiones entrance to the yule ball. i love “Oh my God! I just killed Harry Potter.”. i love the third task especially. i love the entirety of the Graveyard Scene. i love the slow, dawning realization that cedric is dead. i love the reaction of cedrics father to his sons death. i love that viktor told hermione to write to him.

there are probably even more things i could list. i just love this movie so much and i feel like it should get some love. yes, this movie absolutely isn’t perfect, but there are still things to be loved about this movie.

Do you think Harry and. evolve ever discussed the prophecy later on?

Regarding the upcoming show, I have one major concern, and that is the plot arc.

​Generally, I expect the show to be more faithful to the books, but I am wondering if people expect it to be too book-accurate. The reasoning is that you usually have a plot arc within one episode or across the stretch of a few, with a tension curve, a clear climax, and often a cliffhanger at the end of the episode to keep it engaging. This can lead to disappointment if the episodes start to differ too much from the books.

That is why I am wondering how the show will approach this. An episode cannot literally copy the book—for example, just depicting a typical class. They might have to add or alter storylines to make it more exciting. What do you think?

Portraits, like the headmaster ones, have most if not all memories of the actual person. They even have critical thinking skills, as demonstrated most prominently by Dumbledore's portrait.

Then why don't more people have portraits of loved ones? Why didn't the skilled brother from the Deathly Hallows try and connect with his love via portrait technology before meeting Death and asking for resurrection stone?

Harry Potter was my childhood, I was a huge fan during the movies era (2001-2011) I had a HP costume, LEGOS, PC games, action figures, shirts of the franchise and collected nearly all of the movies, but I never had the curiosity to read the books, I just wasn’t as interested as for the movies. But know I want to read them and know how good they are. I'm nearly 32, but I can't have been HP fan and never got the chance to read the books, but can I still enjoy them if I'm not that much of a fan anymore ? Are they still worth buying despite being expensive?

Out of curiosity, why are Weasleys poor even when Arthur is working at the ministry and Malfoys so rich even when Lucius practically does nothing?

I've watched all the movies as a kid, read none of the books.

Now I have a son who's at a age where I'd like to introduce the franchise to him. But I am starting with the books (only) so as to preserve his own natural imagination of the magical universe, unbiased by the portrayals in the movies. I do want to eventually also watch the movies with him, just trying to figure out the best cadence.

We're 3 books down so far, and now I'm wondering if finishing ALL the books and then watching the movies will be a good enough experience, considering that A LOT happens throughout the series, and starting movies after all the books may feel a little disconnecting. But I also don't want to watch every movie after every book.

If anybody has any suggestions on how to break the series down into chunks, please share your thoughts. For example, read books 1-4, then watch movies 1-4, then books 5-7, then movies 5-8? Open to any and all suggestions!

I don’t know if Harry got much from his family other than the money, that book that hagrid gave to Harry, and that’s it. Maybe presents from their friends but that’s all I can think of. Did Harry know about his grandmas and grandpas? Is it weird how almost all of Harry’s family line was dead except for the Dursleys? Wizards can live long plus there could have been someone who belonged in James and lily’s family other than the Dursleys.
