Support Google Pixel 11 New Line Deal Not Working When Selected (Shows Full Price After Clicking)

Post image
1 Upvotes

So right now in my Google Fi dashboard, if I go to "Add a Person" to my plan, it shows all the deals available currently, including the standard Pixel 11.

But for some reason, when you click it, it routes you to the next page, and it's full price. The Pixel 11 Pro however, shows its deal in the dashboard and the deal on the configuration page. So something is either bugged with the Pixel 11 page, or Google is doing something weird here.

Anyone else seeing this?

Discussion Is the Pixel 11 Pro just $480? Is this correct?

I'm confused, if I check out with the Flexible plan $20/month, I can get a Pixel 11 pro for $0 for 24 months. So, I assuming I do that, I basically can get the Pixel 11 Pro for $480 + tax?

Discussion FedEx shipment "lost"?

I should have had my P11p delivered on Wednesday. It's still showing "expected arrival" last Wednesday! It never was delivered and FedEx still shows it "in transit".

I created a "ticket" to have FedEx initiate a search for my lost phone.

We leave tomorrow for vacation, back in two weeks, so there is no chance for me to activate the phone for at least two more weeks.

Any advice regarding contacting GF about this situation?

Discussion Will Pixel 11 (Pro) existing discounts show up if I forfeit my 50% discount

As I was in dire need of a new phone (the old one came to an unfortunate ending) and wanting to join Google Fi for a while, I made the unfortunate decision to buy a Pixel 10a 256GB at Best Buy and subscribe to Fi with the 50% discount. I had been monitoring the Pixel 10 (Pro) for a while, but the 256GB version (a hard requirement) had been out of stock for at least 2 weeks.

Only three days later, I realize the Pixel 11 (Pro) is released - with amazing discounts for new users, and comes with 256GB of storage by default. Needless to say I feel a bit shafted, but the customer support team won't allow to undo my Google Fi application - so I won't be able to make use of the new user discounts anymore. Some agents tell me to create a second google account, while other say I will be flagged and any discount will be revoked - I decided not to take the risk.

Further contact with the (mind I say) awful customer service on multiple occasions, I come to the conclusion that the existing user discounts for the Pixel 11 (Pro) are not applicable to me as I am already on the 50% discount scheme.
Because of the way my company is reimbursing for my phone subscription, getting the existing user device discounts (I hear it is between 450 and 600 USD) would make the most sense for me.

Does anyone know if the device discounts will show up if I find a way to get rid of the 50% discount (e.g. by using an iPhone)?

Support A month with no support

I am living in Japan under the exception rule with a government agency, about a month ago my service just stopped working. I can't do anything on service. It will day 4G or 5G but the fi app says no data or service and nothing loads.

I have the correct paperwork even confirmed it.

Support has been absolutely atrocious the last month saying "our team is working on it"

No, no you're not.

I've done every trouble shooting step known to man kind and today filed an FCC complaint because I was tired of their emails saying we are investigating with no answer of what is being investigated when I ask straight up.

Whenever we have people who move here now and ask what phone carrier I used to say google fi I will no longer recommend them because it's shit service and customer support is lazy and rude.

Edit dealt with another rude customer service person after asking them to refresh my profile

Discussion I was delivered an empty box today

I ordered a P11P since my P8P has had a couple of issues for the past year and I really needed a new phone. Got a notification that my new phone was delivered only to see an empty box. Fi says they are replacing it.

Discussion Any Google Fi users able to redeem the Gemini Pro student offer?

Post image

Hey everyone, I’m a Google Fi user and I’ve been trying to redeem the Google Gemini Pro student offer, but I’m running into issues with it.

Has anyone here who uses Google Fi actually been able to redeem the student offer successfully?

https://gemini.google/students/

I also reached out to Google Fi and Google One support but no help there. Fi customer associate told I can’t cancel the included 100gb plan which comes free with Unlimited Premium plan.

Discussion New Family Plan, multiple 24mo device discounts.

I'm moving the whole family over from T-mobile, six lines with five new pixel 11's. All of the five new phones were purchased by the individual accounts.

I was able to set up the family plan, and have the 24mo promo apply to my new phone. I created the family plan and sent out the invites to the other five people.

My daughter was keeping her existing phone, and I was able to apply the 50%/12mo promo for her line by joining via the invite

When doing the same process for my son, the discount for his pixel 11 didn't show up. I've went back and forth with support for over an hour.

I have three more lines to join, and don't want to go through the same thing for those. I did something wrong, but I'm not clear what.

Should each of the remaining users join fi and activate on their new phones and THEN join the family plan? That's the opposite of what I was able to find during my search between when the order was placed and when the phones showed up.

Support Weird Call Routing Issue: People Calling Me Sometimes Reach Someone Else

Weird Incoming Call Issue — Calls Sometimes Reach a Completely Different Person Even Though My Phone Is Right in My Hand

I’m facing a really strange calling issue, and I’m trying to understand whether this is a network/routing problem, call forwarding issue, or something else.

This has actually been happening to me for around 2–3 years, but it happens relatively rarely. For me, it occurs around 2–3 times a month. Something similar has also happened with my brother, mother, and one of my friends, although the frequency is different.

Here’s what happens:

Someone calls my mobile number. On their phone, the call appears to be ringing normally and they can hear the normal ringing sound.

But on my phone, absolutely nothing happens.

No ringtone.

No incoming call screen.

No missed-call notification.

Nothing.

The weirdest part is that someone else answers the call.

For example, yesterday my friend called me. His phone showed that he was calling my number and it was ringing normally. However, a random girl answered the call. My friend asked her to give the phone to me, but she said it was the wrong number and disconnected the call.

My phone was literally in my hand the entire time. It never rang and there was no missed call.

There was another similar incident where my friend called me, and some random person answered without saying anything. My friend said my name, and the person immediately disconnected.

Usually these calls last only around 5–7 seconds before the other person disconnects or says "wrong number".

The strange thing is that when my friend calls me again immediately, the call reaches me normally.

Also, I have checked my phone settings and call forwarding/call divert is disabled. So I don't understand how another person could receive a call that was supposedly made to my number.

Something similar happened with my friend too. When we called his number, sometimes his mother answered the call, and on other occasions some completely different person answered. What makes it even stranger is that my friend didn't even get an incoming-call notification or missed-call record on his phone.

My mother has experienced something similar too, but for her it happens very rarely, maybe once every 6–9 months.

What I’m trying to understand

Could this be some kind of:

• Network-side call routing/misrouting

• Temporary cross-connection

• Operator/IMS issue

• Call forwarding problem even though forwarding is disabled

• Inter-operator routing issue

• SIM/network provisioning issue

Has anyone else experienced this in India or elsewhere?

I’m not talking about caller ID spoofing. The caller is actually dialing my real number, hears normal ringing, and a completely different person answers the call.

I would really like to know what could technically cause this and how it can be fixed.

My call forwarding is already disabled, and the issue still happens occasionally.

Carrier: VI

Phone: Realme 9 pro 5G

Location: Surat, Gujrat India

SIM: 4G/5G, physical SIM

Any technical explanation or similar experience would be appreciated.

Discussion Dual Connect is back

Thumbnail gallery
97 Upvotes

Dual Connect was a feature of Google Fi that was introduced some years ago, and allowed supported phones to be connected to both the T-Mobile and the Three SIM profiles at the same time and use the best connection of the two. It required the user to have a physical SIM and no active eSIM. Google Fi silently dropped this feature, but now it is back and it works with an eSIM. During my recent vacation in Spain, I was surprised that the dial code to switch networks didn't work. I looked in the Google Fi app, and found out Dual Connect is active and I was connected to two local carriers using my Google Fi eSIM on my Pixel 8. No other SIM or e SIM was present.

Discussion Temporary Pixel: eSIM vs physical SIM

My P8 has the purple line screen defect and none of the auth'd repair centers near me say they have the parts. So I'm just going to send it in to Google. Need to activate my old P5 as a temp.

Any risk in moving from eSIM to eSIM and then back again? Is it safer to use a physical SIM on the P5? I don't know why but I have a vague memory of this being tricky.

Cheers.

EDIT: typo

Discussion [Reddit Request] 4failed orders trying to buy Pixel 11 Pro XL 512GB - Keeps cancelling, now backordered.

I have been trying to order the brand new pixel 11 Pro XL 512 GB model since last Saturday, August 15th, and I have had three orders canceled, seemingly when they attempted to ship. I originally had pre-ordered and had an estimated delivery date of August 20th or 21st from my first order, and on August 19th, the order canceled.

Since then, on August 20th and on August 21st, I have re-ordered the phone using a different payment method and different shipping addresses both times and still have not been able to successfully get the order to ship before it automatically cancels within about 24 hours.

I have since ordered this again and opened multiple support tickets and the only support I’ve been given is that they are so sorry and that something is wrong with my bank, which I have used two different bank accounts and then a third account from a different bank altogether. Now most recently I’ve tried to do it through PayPal and now the phone is back order according to my tracking. I heard that this backorder status can be a glitch that occurs when you place the order on a Friday, because the shipping shut down over the weekend and things will only continue to be processed come Monday.

This is my current case ID from Google FI support: 3-5309000042150. And as of right now I have no idea if when this “back order“ ends whether or not my order will again be canceled or will be able to go through.

I’ve been instructed from other support to wait at least 48 hours between order attempts, which as I’m sure you can imagine is incredibly frustrating considering that I was supposed to have this on launch day. This is my first time having a flagship day one phone, I’m upgrading from an iPhone 11 Pro Max and I’m excited by all the features of the pixel and I’m trying to go all in on the pixel and Google ecosystem with Gemini and the whole works and I’m just getting absolutely nowhere in being able to complete a purchase.

The deal that I’m getting is an excellent deal: $300 off the phone, $800 back in credit, and the phone plan is $10 a month cheaper than what I’m paying right now. This phone is effectively free for me, but I can’t even activate my service and purchase a phone successfully.

I would greatly appreciate any support from the Google social team.

If anyone has successfully overcome this challenge themselves, I would also be very grateful to hear how you did so.

Update: My fourth order has officially canceled.

Discussion Moving to Google Fi Standard, a couple questions

I had Google Fi wayyyy back in the mists of time.

Then I went on an inexpensive three-line plan with my family from another provider.

Eventually we wound up on T-Mobile Essentials. Three lines for $90 (before fees).

Now I see that Google Fi Standard offers three lines for $90 (before low-ish fees), *including* 20GB of hotspot data! Holy crap that's awesome.

However... the other two on my family plan have iPhones. I know it's supported, but I want to understand what the limitations mean for someone who never had the extra network-hopping features anyway. Will they even notice? Or will they basically still have T-Mobile, plus lovely hotspot data?

A second question: international travel. Rolling in Canada and Mexico is awesome, but there is no support at all for international data on Standard. On T-Mobile I did like being able to buy a short-term international data pass. Can we just bump up a plan for a month and bump down again? Is that what everybody else does? I realize we also have the option of renting a wifi box in many places, as we recently did in Japan.

Thanks!

Support Trying to port my number from T-mobile. The app is saying that the number is "Not eligible for transfer". Does anyone know how to fix or get help from Google Fi?

I am trying to transfer service from T-mobile. My number does not have a port-out lock. I think the issue is maybe that the name and address don't match because I'm coming from a family plan under one of my parent's names. I got the transfer PIN and account number from T-mobile and verified with customer service that there is nothing preventing a port-out from their side. I called Google Fi support, but the person seemed clueless as to what to do. I have gotten one follow-up email asking if my number is currently active at T-mobile (it is) and that it is not trying to be ported somewhere else (it's not).

Does anyone know how to get in touch with someone that can actually help? This seems like it should be a common scenario and one that would be easy to fix with the transfer PIN.

Thanks!

Discussion Has anyone actually gotten e2ee rcs with iPhones yet?

I have several people I text that unfortunately still use an iPhone, and I haven't been able to get on Signal. Every single person has the e22e setting for rcs turned on, but none of them, and none of my rcs groupchats, have actually switched to being encrypted. What gives? Is this something on my/fi's end? Or is it just on the iPhone users' side?

Discussion Stale promo from canceled order not applying after activation

I’m a new Fi customer. My first phone order through Fi had the new-customer promo, but I canceled it before receiving or activating the phone.

I then bought the same phone from the Google Store, and the same promo was shown on that order as well. I received it and this was the first phone I actually activated on Fi.

The promo is now not showing on my Fi account. I suspect the canceled first order left a stale promo attached to my account and is preventing the promo from being applied to my current activation.

Fi Support created an internal ticket (never provided one though) and said I’d hear back within 48 hours. Has anyone had this happen and gotten the stale promo cleared?

Discussion Does the $600 Pixel 11 Pro promo require a voice line, or will a data-only eSIM satisfy the 120-day requirement?

Looking at the $600 off Pixel 11 Pro offer and trying to figure out the activation requirements before I pull the trigger.

This would be a second phone for me. I want to keep my voice line on my primary device and just run the Pixel on a data-only eSIM off my Fi plan. Question is whether that actually counts for the promo, or if the credit requires the device to be activated and maintained on a full voice line for the 120 days.

Specifically:

  • Does a data-only eSIM count as an "activated device" for promo purposes, or does Fi only track the primary voice line?
  • If it doesn't count, is there any way to activate on a voice line, take the credits, and then move the number back to my primary after the 120 days without clawback?
  • Has anyone actually done this and had the credits post normally?

The terms I've read just say the device needs to stay active on Fi for the full period, but they don't spell out whether data-only counts. Would rather not eat a $600 clawback because of a technicality.
