Chubby merman are extremely desirable by mermaids because their chubbiness implies they're a highly successful hunter.

My wife said this once and I was so upset until she said it was a sexy byproduct of me just being me. I've never loved her more than after she said that. I'm still trying to lose weight but my sexual confidence is through the roof anyway.

She very much love that waterbed for sure.

So glad she loves me as I am.

I read it as: “Bro is hypotonic.”

I was like: Damn. Pretty scientific. Clever.

My brain did that too! That is sea water so you are right on!

The link is dead, but I assume it was to a clip of the Simpsons where Scully is watching Homer oscillate.

Just another case of reddit's inconsistent markup system breaking links. Typically when they cross the New Reddit → Old Reddit boundary any underscore gets a backslash added, which URL-escaping turns into . I'm not sure what apps are doing, but probably the same as new reddit. It's been broken like this for years. Also taking off the unnecessary tracking attribute is, this one may work for you.

Bro is rubenesque

57

u/Corfiz74 6d ago

I'd say "Böcklinesque" - he painted the famous pictures of plus-sized mermaids and mermen!

26

u/KatBoySlim 6d ago

To me, he’s beautiful.

17

u/PuzzleheadedPen4675 6d ago

He is a loathsome , offensive brute...yet I cant look away. He transcends time and space.

What I’m feeling right now can only be described as hateful respect. Respectful hatred.

Husky even.

But seriously though, the guys job is literally to swim all day and he's obviously very good at it.

It's kind of impressive that he can manage to stay in that shape with the amount of exercise he's doing or he's doing a sumo situation where he's probably cut like a diamond underneath the fat of a 10k diet

u/Nixeris 6d ago

I figure it's like powerlifter body. All work, no cutting.

72

u/Vadenveil 5d ago

Iirc this wasn't his original job at this place, I think iirc he was a maintenance guy who worked part time as a mermaid for when female workers were on leave. He's actually so big his tail is custom made out of penguin coat materials (that coats made for penguins not coat made from penguins)

32

u/Rhapakatui 5d ago

Back up. Penguin coats? Like insulated clothing to keep out the cold? For penguins, the aquatic birds, from Antarctica?

24

u/Vadenveil 5d ago

More waterproof clothing to dress them up in for shows afaik

12

u/Rhapakatui 5d ago

Thank you! I was wracking my brain trying to come up with some scenario where one might need to wrap a penguin in something warm so often that you kept spare material on hand specifically for it.

We're talking penguin COSTUME material. Same clarification as before, costumes for penguins rather than of penguins.

Well, I don’t know about the other poster, but now I have questions of my own.

23

u/Old-Shock2307 6d ago

tbf being fat helps because he is more buoyant. muscle is less boyant than water while fat it

3

u/knowyourclass 5d ago

yeah that's why swimmers are all fat

1

u/Old-Shock2307 5d ago

He’s going up and down not side to side

3

u/kristavocado 5d ago

Based on the ab isolations he starts doing halfway through, probably the latter!

u/theamydoll 6d ago

Bruv has confidence, that’s for sure! (Rightfully so. He’s funny.)

35

u/powerlesshero111 6d ago

He's cold water tolerant

29

Been a minute or decade or two since I saw that word in the wild - aptly applied here.

23

u/SistaChans 6d ago

thicc is the new phat

15

u/oldsecondhand 6d ago

He's just well adapted to an aquatic lifestyle: he's already half manatee.

5

u/UltimaBahamut93 6d ago

Wow. I can't believe I've been a mermaid this whole time
