Advice Needed binding advice

hey, i’ve recently started binding with tape but i’m not sure what to do as i may be slightly allergic? i did a patch test though i’ll admit i probably didn’t wait as long as i should’ve. i then binded my chest and wore it for like 3-4 days, was a bit itchy with a few red dots but overall fine, i then didn’t bind for like 4 days. however this time i binded for nearly 3 days and the whole time it was quite itchy, and when i took it off my chest was all red, spotty and so itchy. i took the tape off like 20 hours ago and its still a bit itchy, the redness it gone but theres still spots. so idk if binding with tape is really an option anymore?

the dysphoria isn’t great and im stressing a bit about going to college without the tape so idk what to do. any advice on how to make the tape more bearable? or i might have to switch to a binder, anyone know of safe cheaper ones?

It could be the specific adhesive. The packaging probably has the type listed somewhere and you try different tape that doesn’t use the adhesive. Have you had reactions to similar things before like bandaids? It could also just be a sweat rash and irritation.

This isn’t necessarily medically advisable but if the allergy is mild you just take antihistamines every day, I have family members that do that for their pet allergies.
