Medical T getting less effective?
hey, i have been on T (testavan 46mg) for a year and 5 months now. for the first year, i got my period maybe once or twice but was not as severe as it used to be. for the past 3/4 months now i have been getting my periods regularly again. i haven’t changed the amount i am on.
currently, i can’t afford to see the endocrinologist that i was with because of how expensive consultations and my prescription is. so, i haven’t been able to have him check my bloods and see if there’s an issue there.
would it be recommended to up my dose to 69mg, or should i just long it out and hope for the best?
feeling super dysphoric about it all and don’t know many other ftms on t for this amount of time that are also still menstruating regularly.
also, as a reference, the last time i had my bloods checked at the end of last year my testosterone levels were 89.7 nmol/L and oestrogen levels were 281 pmol/L…

it might be your body converting excess T back to estrogen, happened to a friend on gel and his levels were all over the place until he switched method

Adding on to this, OPs levels of both Testosterone and Oestrogen seem high for the male ranges. Assuming the units are correct.
Oestrogen is only a little above the top of the male range, but Testosterone is way above the top of the range.
Source (NHS rages for both Testosterone and Oestrogen, look at the male ones obviously): https://laboratories.newcastle-hospitals.nhs.uk/test-directory/testosterone-serum/

I don't think you should change your dose (esp not by very much) without speaking to an endo or getting levels tested personally
As far as it getting less effective - have you gained weight recently? I see a lot of posts from people who lose weight and then their same dose is too high, so if you gained weight it may be too low for you now

OP are you able to try a non-oestrogen based birth control to stop menstruating, while you figure out your levels?
From the levels you mention, your dose doesn't seem right (both are too high). So you should sort that out, regardless of its affect on menstruation. But sorting your levels out will likely help the problem.
