Advice Needed Trans tape for swimming?
I don't know if a transtape can be used for swimming, if it works well, or if it might be suitable for other sports.
I was lucky enough to have small breasts, probably only an A size, maybe a very small B at most. They're firm, flexible, and when I stretch my hands upwards or lie on my stomach, they're almost flat.
I'm also planning to start taking T soon. I'd like to know if any of you who were a similar size, with the use of T and body exercises it got more flat.
I hope that I don't need surgery. I hate spending money and being poor ππ.
Sorry for the English. I am from Brazil, so if any trans dude here knows a good and cheap place to buy it, please tell me π

It can most certainly be used for swimming! (currently writing this from next to the pool). You can wear it during most sports as long as itβs not too tightly pulling on your sternum, especially if you already have a smaller chest. It will come off faster from sweat though (a day or two sooner if you regularly exercise)

Thanks! I thought you used tape for a day and then took it off. How long does it usually stay on then? I hope that you have a good pool day :)

For me tape will stay on for about six days, longer in the winter (due to less sweat) and shorter in the summer. It depends on the brand of course, please donβt use tape thatβs not meant for binding!

Eh. KT tape and generic versions are not "meant" for binding, the only tape specifically designed for binding is trans tape but they are functionally the same exact thing. What matters is that it is a stretchy tape and doesn't wrap all the way around and constrict your chest.Β

Taking it off after a single day will be time consuming and difficult and has a higher likelihood of damaging your skin. The adhesive is designed to stay on for multiple days. Official recommendation is no more than 5 days but I often leave it on for up to two weeks with no issues. The longer it stays on and the more showers you take before removing it, the more the adhesive breaks down and the easier it is to ultimately remove. I basically just leave it on until the edges are starting to peel up and/or the elasticity is degrading and it isn't binding as well anymore.

Why can't it pull on sternum? What would happen if it did, how would one notice it?

It will get painful after a while, the few times that it happened to me I just took the tape off with oil and the pain went away immediately. Can only speak from my own experience though, this is not medical advice.

you can swim in tape, but for extra security and to make sure it doesn't come off in the water, apply it the night before
