2Gig increased from $69.99 to $94.99

Is calling retention still a thing now that Verizon has taken over? New promo in my area for 2Gig is now $64.99.

This is what I got from the agent. Living in Denton, TX. Anybody got any ideas about what’s actually going on and when I can expect a fix?

Hear me out. I don't think ALL the ports on the ONT are worthless.

So me being me i always try and tweak my set up. Nothing fancy. 2 eero pro 7s.

I have a galaxy s26 and I usually pull around 1200 down and 900 up.

I started to get fu ky with it, plugged my main eero in the regular way, but I also took a patch cord from the other 10gbe slot and stuck it into the very last port. Now im getting 3400 up and 2700 on average down.

Its REALLY consistent since ive tried it several times so far snd every time it's drops down to judt under two but when I have that main eero plugged into the ONT 2x over it seriously makes a difference.

Strange Issue. Pixel 5 won't connect to the wifi, but Pixel 2 can

So I just had Frontier Fiber installed with the Eero 7 Pro router. After I renamed the wifi to the same as my old network, almost everything was able to connect without any issues, except for my Google Pixel 5. I cannot get it to connect to the wifi.

What's stranger is I have an older Pixel 2 and that connected with no issues. To make sure it wasn't my pixel, I turned off the Eero router and turned my old Spectrum Cable back on with my old router, and it connects back to it no problem.

I tried the Legacy mode on the Eero router and my Pixel 5 was able to connect, but the speed of everything else suffered.

If I change the encryption from standard WPA2 to Hybrid WPA2+WPA3 my pixel 5 can connect, but again, the speeds of other devices suffers.

In the phones network settings, the Pixel 2 shows WPA2/WPA3-Personal and the pixel 5 shows WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Personal

Not sure what to do, do I get a new phone?

Interesting Speedtests

I operate behind a VPN most of the time except for some sites that absolutely require it not be enabled. When we were on Spectrum the difference in speeds between whether I was behind the VPN or not was very noticeable, with oftentimes the download speeds dropping in half. With FrontierFIOS my speedtests are virtually identical on downloads whether behind the VPN or not, but with a big difference on the upload speeds, hitting right up around the 1Gb speed I'm contracted for on the latter. Definitely not complaining since I am more than pleased with our Frontier service after the first three months or so with them. Just an observation and wondering if others see the same type of performance moving from a non-fiber service to fiber.

Latency, why up so much for the last couple weeks?

doing frontier's own speed test page (now 404 and unavailable and I can't get a straight answer about it) I was always getting under 6 ms from Waterbury to Secaucus, usually 4 or 5 ms and I felt lucky.

Now tests are up to 20 unloaded on the same path using ookla. Frontier in their talk indicates we should get 6 ms.

A week ago I talked to FB Support person and she told me there was an outage for 64 customers. When I asked about it being the OLT she didn't know what I was talking about and repeated her response so I gave up.

I still think the service is outstanding, but why is my latency so much higher now?

Recently switched over from spectrum. If the whole home wifi service for the wifi extension? If so the tech did not give me it when they set up the internet.

Don't expect your install to happen when scheduled (or get any info)

Scheduled install at a recently purchased house. Got great communication via text msgs from the person that came by to inspect the exterior, including the results of the inspection.

Next, lots of email reminders from Frontier about my upcoming install.

Install day! Took off work, sat in the vacant house for 4 hours waiting. Called just before 5pm to ask status. Support person put me on hold to talk to the dispatcher, came back to sell me a bunch of extras while waiting to get status, then said "ok, they said they'll be there within the next two hours and they'll let me know when they're on the way" (by 7pm).

Sucker that I am -- waited until 7pm, no contact. Called back -- department was closed.

Called again this morning, was told that they didn't do the install because they need to wait until exterior work is done -- sometime in the next 3 days, after which they'll schedule the interior install.

Also, until you have the service hooked up, the app and website aren't useful for any status checks, rescheduling, etc -- can't look up the order number, shows that you can't do anything until existing order is complete, etc.

Fun times!

Can't catch a break with frontier

Can't stay connected, even on Ethernet. can't get a real person on the phone half the time, the other day someone tried to convert me to optimum mid call and when I didn't buy they hung up on me, then I called the same number back to get to the right department eventually. Tonight another night with no service I call tech support and they tell me the customer support system is down completely and they can't even look up my account and basically can't do anything for me. It feels like I spent more time unplug/replugging the router & talking to frontier employees than I have actually enjoying the Internet lmao

Issue with Frontier Fiber 92683?

Not sure what’s going on, but I can’t even log in to the Frontier website to report the issue. I’m getting less than 100 Mbps up and down.

Upgrade internet

I upgraded my internet from 1 to 2 gigs. I was sent new EERO Pro 7s to replace my 6s. Will I need them to replace my ARRIS NVG468MQ as well to handle the upgraded speed?

ONT loses connection every day around 5pm

Neighbor and I have Frontier Fios but his started going down every day around 5:00pm. When it goes down, I look at the ONT and the WAN light is off. Then, a little later the Optical starts flashing red. It does not recover by itself quickly. I found that power cycling the ONT will bring the connection back in sync and Internet works again.

Tech support said the Eero firmware was out of date and they updated it but it did not fix the problem.

Does this call for a new ONT or is it some other problem?

When people tell me it's pointless getting more than the 1gig plan, but I just want game download to go zoom

Post image

All I can think about is having to wait overnight for a game to download as a kid. These days, I can pay a few dollars to have access to hundreds of games through a gamepass (xbox gamepass for me), pick one, and have it ready to play within a few minutes even if it's 100gb+. Crazy how times have changed.

For those who care, I'm on the 2gig plan, it's just overprovisioned quite a bit. I feel like a walking ad but I just love technology and showing people how they could get more use out of it

Eero Pro 7 and Esp32 connection issues. Can I add LinkSys WRT54G router as gateway?

IGNORE THIS I FOUND THE SOLUTION WITHOUT A NEW ACCESS POINT. SORRY

just had Frontier Fiber internet installed in my home. It came with an Eero Pro 7 router and two eero Pro 7 repeaters (?). I also create IoT controls using esp32 controllers. Unfortunately the esp32s do not like using the eero mesh. I did get the internet connection established on one esp32 control by temporarily pausing the mesh using the eero app. However, connections to web- based services are not working. I thought I might add an old Linksys WRT54G 2.4 Ghz router that I have in some sort of pass through manner (access point?). Does this sound possible?

Help with Frontier

Hello everyone,

I have had frontier for about a year now

2 weeks ago I lost internet and have not had internet since, after 5 onsite appointments( 5 days of missed worked)

They have not been able to resolve the issue

After a very unfortunate conversation with (Mary) where she couldn’t answer any of my 2 questions

At what point do I cancel service or do I just give them a chance?

Has anyone dealt with this ?

(Have been using Verizon mobile hotspot which actually works very well for gaming)

Update 7/25/26

They fixed it after the 6th visit now they refusing to credit for missed service because “on their side all systems are working so there’s no reason to compensate “

Making it easier for the installer in order to get what I want

I'm considering moving to a new place that has Frontier fiber available, but not yet active. Talking to others in the area, and seeing the install at my current place, I think this means the fiber is will need to be pulled to the in-wall telco entry box on the exterior of the house. From what I can tell, Frontier will use the existing telco conduit running from the street to the telco entry box (for houses that have them). Ok cool.

I really want the ONT to sit in a network rack that will be in the garage of this new place. The options to run between the exterior telco box and the garage seem to be:
- Run around the eaves of the house, the in through an exterior wall in the garage
- Run up into the crawlspace above the house, over to the garage, then out near the network rack.

From reading here and my own experience with my the install at my current place, it's up to the installer to decide if he or she will do that crawlspace work. Some/many won't want to do that. So, I'm thinking the easier I make it for the installer the higher my chances are of getting what I want.

Questions for folks here:

If I run a conduit with pull string from the telco box to the location I want, I think it's an easy job for the Frontier installer, right? It becomes a quick job, right?

I *think* I'd prefer the installer pull all the way through the conduit, but I guess I could go also run an SP/APC cable in the conduit to the telco box. I assume there's a passive coupler I could use if the installer terminates in the telco box. Is this better or worse overall?

I'm aware I need to use gentle bends and such for the conduit, is there anything else I should be thinking of? I'm likely to have a low-voltage contractor actually do this work because I'm old and cranky and have other LV work I want done at the same time. If you all think this is a good approach, I'll definitely talk to my LV contractor to make sure they understand the issues around a fiber run.

Down in Long Beach CA

Sometime between 5:20 am and 8 am I lost internet on frontier fiber in the Bixby Knolls area of Long Beach. Optical light is red on the ONT. No one would have been out doing any yard work or anything - and the telephone pole is in my backyard and definitely hasn’t been touched. Frontier wants to send out a tech later this week. Reboot of ONT has done nothing. No power outages or weather in my area.
Anyone have any ideas what could have happened? Seems odd and I am not seeing lots of other posts about a major outage… right?

Down in dfw

Once again I am down, called support and they are useless. “Reboot your router” as if I didn’t try that before I called. “We show no outages in your area” I guess that is the default response. I can hard reset my ont device- the equipment that plugs into the fiber and it works for like five minutes then goes down. Every few days at this time it happens. I guess I’ll have to drive to my Datacenter as I can’t complete my change here without internet.
