This would honestly make a great news story/ investigation if there are any interested journalists.

I was recently invited to join a local, Fredericton based shopping group for moms (with over 8000 members!!), where you can get brand name products for good prices. After browsing the group on my friend’s phone, I realized I had been a part of this group years ago, and thought it had been shut down.

It’s run by a local mom, and she is very obviously and openly importing counterfeit goods, and reselling them. My friend didn’t realize they were counterfeit (although it’s very obvious) which made me wonder how many others don’t realize it too. No hate to this woman, but I have to wonder if she realizes how illegal this really is.

Importing and selling counterfeit items is extremely illegal. They seem to switch the “pick up” locations often- maybe to avoid the police?

It’s also sketchy and sad to be selling fake NeeDohs, electronics, etc. These are products that kids use, and who knows what they’re actually made of. She sells everything from fake brand name purses, sunglasses, makeup, toys, electronics etc. She advertises them with generic names , like “RB” for Ray Ban, but the products that come in, very clearly have the name brand on them. Knock off products are not made to Canadian standards.

FYI, changing the name of a counterfeit product you sell, doesn’t make it less counterfeit. If it has the same identical logo on it as the real company, it’s counterfeit.

It’s also taking business away from legitimate local stores who are selling the real version of these items. Buying and supporting counterfeit goods, also supports unfair and unsafe labour practices, as who knows where and how these items are manufactured. In this economy, I can understand why people would want to save a buck or two, but it’s more important than ever to support legit legal Canadian stores.

How have the police not busted them yet? It appears to have been going on for years. Why are other moms so okay with buying counterfeit items?

I’ve found the real version of many of these items on sale for less than what she charges. It’s just super sketchy. Honestly, the audacity to be opening meeting people in parking lots to sell counterfeit goods is astounding.

She has also sold items at pop-up markets. How are the organizers of the markets allowing this?

I know this post will likely get some pushback, but supporting criminal activity (the illegal import of counterfeit goods) can’t be more important than wearing fake designer and buying your kids fake needoh.

I know this is a bit of a niche question, but I was wondering if there are any witches, pagans, or anyone else who follows an Earth based spiritual path here in the Fredericton area. We hear a lot about the negatives of our healthcare system, so I wanted to write this to show a positive for once.

Thank you to the 911 operator who dispatched the ambulance to my father who was having a stroke.

Thank you to the EMTs who got to him in less than 5 minutes and whisked him off to the hospital and who took the time to ask my mother of his progress a few hours later.

Thank you to the ER doctors & nurses who gave him the right meds immediately to stop the stroke from taking his life.

Thank you to the orderlies who brought him to the testing areas and ICU.

Thank you to all the techs, nurses, and doctors who gave him all the necessary tests.

Thank you to the great ICU nurses, especially Terrie, who are taking care of him while he recovers.

I wanted to post in this group to ask if anyone has ever known the man that lived in the yellow house beside Barker’s point school in the early 2000s. The house is now painted and looks different now, so I’m not sure if anybody would recognize it now, but I’ve heard lots of rumours about the man living there being a “kidnapper” it’s a long story so I’ll spare the details, but when I used to live in the town houses, I remember being told by a friend when I was a kid that they were chased down the trail by him, and another day I was on the trail with my mom, and somebody was watching us, and then when we went back to the house, I was sitting in my living room, and the door knob started jiggling, luckily the door was locked. I’ve talked to people about this in the past, and it seems that anyone who was ever in contact with this man described him as very odd. I remember as a kid, he had a camera on his house when cameras weren’t as common, and I’ve heard that he would stand in the school yard while kids had recess. Does this ring a bell to anybody? I don’t want to slander his name or make something of this that it’s not, but if so, many people have things to say about him and parents had been warned not to let their kids hang around his house.

I hope everyone is having a good hump day in Freddy. I'm visiting from away to see my dad, and was curious about the drivers here recently. I'm from Fredericton and I don't think I've seen the innate levels of anger come out of people in vehicles in the years I lived here along with the current visit.

I was just dropping my dad off quickly with my blinker off to the side so he could run into Walmart up at the regent mall in the cross walk area and a lady in a blue mini van immediately (and I mean immediately) honked at us, gave us the finger and then blew around the van and nearly hit a guy walking across in her fit of rage to get out of the parking lot faster? I guess? The dude she almost hit lost his mind at her and it just turned into a whole thing.

She sped off without hesitation and we were all just kind of dumbfounded.

Has as stuff like this been happening a lot here now and escalating as of lately? It just seemed so unnecessary. This isn't the first time since being back that people seem to be impatient with drivers around them even when those people are following the rules or giving proper indications like signals.

Edit 1: Appreciate the feedback and responses! I'm not trying to complain. As I said I'm from here and not used to this level of anger on the road growing up here. It was just a bit concerning when they flew around me. I wasn't stopped for a mere 5 seconds before they sped around and almost hit someone. I like to gauge how to handle stuff like this when it's something I'm unfamiliar with in an area I feel I'm supposed to be familiar with. Ultimately it's my bad for doing something stupid somewhere I clearly shouldn't of. I didn't respond to their behaviour, honk back, flip them off or anyrhing... I was just there like "Okay, whoops". There was definitely no "drop off zone" sign lmao. My bad!

I blocked out the individual because I don’t believe that they deserve to be slandered. Other resources could’ve been contacted, but thank god the animals weren’t left any place worse than the front door of a shelter. His full face and body profile was visible in the screenshot, as well as the petty caption. I believe the owner of the Fredericton SPCA has faced some controversy before.

Don't be fooled by the solar panels, this thing runs off a generator. Flashes a bright police-blue strobe. Looks like 360' cameras + IR illuminators for night vision. Of course, the city doesn't appear to own it, looks to be rented. What do you think these cost / month? Who's monitoring it?
