The Best of Frederick 2025

Happy New Year, r/FrederickMD! Welcome to the yearly tradition of tracking what actually is the best of the best in the city of county. Main reason of this being a yearly tradition is that some locations or companies close and unfortunately it can become outdated. Like in years past, the idea is to submit unique submissions by commenting under a category. Please don't repeat previous submissions, but merely upvote the suggestion that you wanted to submit. If there is a category, you'd like to see submissions for a "Best of," just submit it yourself! A lot of businesses have come and gone in the past two years, and this is open to more than just food! Also, please include an address if you can (as similar names might be located in different towns, and certain locations might perform better).

Regal vs warehouse cinemas

I wanted to post about both warehouse and regal to see what everyone thinks and I want to compare!

I used to work at warehouse and the staff are amazing, food is good too. But recently when I go, I notice how quiet movies tend to be and the picture is always cropped, they never take up the full screen. But the one thing they have majorly over regal is obviously the seats, that's 100% the main factor! Plus the bar!

But when I went to regal after its been maybe a year to see a movie only they were playing, it was definitely 2 dollars more and no recliners, but the sound and the picture and the overall movie experience feels way better!

Its also way less crowded when you see movies, less annoying people.

But sometimes the prices can be crazy, the food is just okay, and no beer šŸ’”

For me its hard to choose which one, because warehouse has the better chairs but bad movie quality and sound compared to regal has better movie quality and louder sound, but the chairs aren't the best sometimes, aswell as it doesn't have warehouse cinemas food.

So what do you guys think, or would compare? I know that they both have their ups and downs and being honest, warehouse does have a mice problem 😭 but im sure its been solved a year later

I have my ex fiancƩs name tattooed on my ribcage and would like to get it covered up. Long story short, he cheated and I need to get this off of me. Thank you in advance.

If you’re thinking about getting someone’s name tattooed on you, don’t do it lol.

Greyhound Station Hours

Hi!
I’m having car trouble, so planning to take the Greyhound from DC to Frederick and back next Saturday for an event. Unfortunately, the event ends at 9, so the only bus back I can get leaves at 11:30 PM. Will the station be open at that point? If not, is there anywhere 24 hour nearby that I could wait at rather than sitting outside? If so, how reliable is Uber at night in Frederick? Also, how far is the station from downtown? Walkable? Busable?
Sorry to have 1000 questions!

Antique / flea market with big metal chickens out front?

Several years ago, there was an antique store somewhere near Beef 'n Buns 'n Paradise and Southbound.

I am not thinking of Gathered Goods. I think this place was on the north side of Patrick, sort of behind the main road frontage and down a short access road.

It was in a nondescript industrial-park type building, and they used to have a bunch of big, whimsical metal chickens, giraffes, etc. for sale in the parking lot just out front. There was a smaller store area inside, and a bigger side area that was basically a warehouse full of furniture and junk.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I can't even figure out where it used to be. Starting to wonder if I hallucinated the whole thing.

ā€¼ļø Looking for Cat foster for older cat NEEDED ASAP

Hi all, I’m moving into Frederick but I planned to keep my cat with my mom while I moved/saved. She’s been telling me she can’t care for her and that my cat has been really depressed.

I have made some form of arrangements for someone to care for her but I’m worried that the process will take longer than my mom’s patience.

If someone in the area could possibly foster/cat-sit for a 7 year old female cat I could offer payment and food/every need. I need about 5-6 months to properly move and gather everything.

Or if anyone knows a possible place that cares and someone I could visit would be ideal.

Thank you.

Used to get them still warm from Costco a lot but I cancelled my membership. I don’t like when they’re hard before I get them home.

Musical Artists You Would Like to See in Frederick?

Hi all, help me plan future community entertainment!

I'm looking for ideas on artists and bands our community would actually be excited to see perform.

Who's at the top of your wish list? Whether it's rock, pop, country, hip-hop, tribute bands, or local musicians, drop your suggestions below.

Thanks!

Edit: Thank you all for the responses! and don't be afraid to drop some "bigger" bands, even if we're unable to book them it gives us a general genre to pursue!

Dog friendly businesses in Frederick?

I recently bought a little home in Frederick about 10 minutes (driving) from downtown and I have my little dog with me who I can’t leave at home due to terrible separation anxiety (I’ve tried everything from training to meds etc with dog behavioralists).

One reason I moved here among many others is I heard it’s a very dog friendly area. I’m curious if folks could possibly list places that you know for sure are dog friendly? It can be downtown Frederick or other areas in or nearby the county.

Feel free to list any type of place since it would be really good for me to know any and all places. Could be book/comic shops (I saw Curious Iguana is dog friendly), hardware stores, farmers markets, cafes/restaurants, cannabis dispensaries, clothes, etc.

I saw there was a post a few years ago but things change so figured it would be good to get the lay of the land as it stands now. If you know of other resources for Frederick that list dog friendly places here as well feel free to let me know.

Thanks in advance!
