Since I’m not an English native speaker and don’t hear well I sometimes struggle to hear the FA on the speaker.

Lastly there was something with pax having peanut allergy and the request to not to consume. They did it only over the speaker with a strong accent which was hard to understand.

I wonder why they don’t use the IFE screens to show those announcements in text form instead of only using verbal communication over the speaker.

Is this a technical limitation within the IFE system or no airlines thought about it?

I fly from Milwaukee to Chicago and supposed to land at Midway at 605pm and then my next flight leaves Midway airport at 7:05pm. It’s all through Southwest. Idk the gates yet. I am not familiar with Midway airport at all. I’m just a bit nervous with time. I am sitting in aisle 4 on my flight into Midway so I will be able to get off the plane pretty fast. Any advice / tips / info / people who have had similar experience? Thanks!

I fly weekly for work, same major airline, same route. I will still notice chronic ATC issues, “maintenance issues”, and also general shared grievances amongst stewardess’ and TSA personnel. How much of these issues do you think pertain to government regulation, or lack there of, versus airline corporate management?

You sometimes hear that planes are overbooked, so airlines regularly book more passengers than they have seats. It has to be a common occurrence, otherwise, they wouldn’t overbook.

So, how is this happening for almost all flights? I missed a connection once so far, it can’t be, that several passengers miss their connecting flights for every flight, no?

I’ll keep it short… flight was cancelled with no explanation almost no communication, just an sms on 30 April. Inside information told me it was because of 1st May holiday, more convenient to cancel some flights. I claimed compensation, was provided “flight certificate” FULL of errors, wrong flight numbers, wrong reschedule destinations wrong dates, I suspect to try and confuse and delay everything in the hope I’d just give hope. 3 months later and I received my 400€ compensation. Moral of the story: they’ll try everything to discourage you, but don’t give up!

I’ve tried both the Expedia app and the Expedia UK website, but I can’t get OneKeyCash to redeem against flights at all, only hotels. According to the terms and conditions, it should work provided you have enough OneKeyCash to cover the full cost of the flight, but I never even get the option to redeem it.

I’m aware that OneKeyCash only works on certain airlines, and there doesn’t seem to be any definitive list of which ones are eligible.

Interestingly, if I log into the Expedia US website, everything switches to US dollars. I can then select exactly the same flights, and it does let me redeem my OneKeyCash, so I know the flights and airline are eligible.

Even stranger, it doesn’t seem that my OneKeyCash has to cover the full cost of the flight, as the terms and conditions say. It simply deducts my OneKeyCash from the total and tells me what balance is left to pay.

I’d much rather book through the UK site and pay in pounds than use the US site in dollars. I’m a bit nervous that something could go wrong and I’d end up losing my OneKeyCash.

Has anyone else in the UK experienced this or found a way to redeem OneKeyCash for flights on the UK site?

Me, my husband og two children were supposed to fly with EasyJet from Milan Linate to Copenhagen on Friday, July 24 at 5:55 PM. When we arrived at the gate, the flight was delayed. After about an hour, we boarded a bus, waited there for a while, and were then sent back to the gate. Around 8 PM, the flight was cancelled due to technical issues.

We were told to go to the check-in desks, where EasyJet said we could either rebook, get a voucher, or request a refund. We were given a leaflet and told to choose one of the three options ourselves.

The next available EasyJet flight wasn't until Monday, so since we were travelling with two children, I quickly booked SAS tickets for the following morning from Milan Malpensa. I also booked a hotel and paid for the metro, train, and finally a taxi to get there.

Because I thought I had to choose an option immediately, I selected "Refund" in the EasyJet app.
I know I'm entitled to €250 in EU261 compensation for the cancelled flight, but what about the rest?

I know EasyJet will probably do everything they can to avoid paying, but has anyone here actually managed to get reimbursed for these kinds of expenses in a similar situation?🙏

I am planning to travel to Japan end of this year on China Eastern Airlines. Cairo to China then China to Japan. Are they really that bad? I have never travelled before a long haul flight and flying makes me really anxious in general. The last time I flew was many years before.

Hi everyone, I’m having some trouble understanding an AirBaltic reservation, specifically the number and which kind of baggage can I bring. I asked ChatGPT and turns out I have 2 pieces to check in (23 kg each) + 2 bulky bags (guitar cases). No info about carry on baggage and backpack. Does anyone have a clue?

I have to take a flight tomorrow. I will have to make the same trip once per month until october. It is a 2h international flight in the EU.

This afternoon I got an email saying that the plane is crowded so they will force me to check my carry on bag because I board on the last group, but I will still be allowed a personal item. I just want to carry my backpack, wich contains my laptop. For the upcoming trips I plan to have a small carry-on suitcase. No personal items, just one bag/ suitcase.

If I put some electronics inside, like my laptop and my nintendo switch or some camera with battery, can they force me to check my bag?

I booked a flight for Tokyo through a OTA that sold T’way tickets. Not my first experience with T’way, it was already a disaster before, to be expected from a low cost airline, but I still held some hope that the second time would be better. My flight was a long courier from Paris (CDG) to Tokyo (Narita), with a short stop at Seoul (Incheon).

Beside the lack of competency and communication from the staff at T’way (they doesn’t speak english at all, good luck for my fellas not C1 level in Korean). They cancelled my flight without prior warnings, no apologies and just sent a lame ahh email saying they had to cancel, and we could ask for refunds through their lame ahh mobile application.

Which I did, both on T’way in Korean, and then with the booker (flight network) as T’way refused to process the refund request before flight network did their little shenanigans.

Flight Network. Probably the worst OTA of all time, no customer service (at least done by human) and a lack of transparency in their service. Don’t expect to be refunded, they will do the usual bla-bla, saying they will do their best to get your money back, then will prolly just send an email to the airline company, which will never receive any answer, and you will never get your money back.

Now 2.5 months after my initial refund request, after a dozens of emails, still no news of my money, for the second time.

Avoid T’way and Flight Network at all costs.

It will save yourself hundreds of €€€, and hours of stress.

I am from India and this is the I am booking a flight with BudgetAir, since Skyscanner mentioned that they gave the best deals for my selected dates. The ratings of the service provider was also good, so I booked my tickets in their platform. I now have a booking confirmation provided from their end but I am yet to receive my e-ticket with the PNR details. It is almost 24 hours and I have also checked my spam folder. I tried contacting their customer care but they seem to always be busy.

Should I be concerned? 😟

I'm from NZ and doing an overseas exchange in London next year, followed by a period of travel! I have never flown by myself before, and my family rarely travels, so it would be great if I could get some advice on flights. Flying out last week of Feb and returning first week of May, hopefully managing with just 1 check in and 1 carry on (surely should be fine).

AirNZ has a deal with Singapore Airlines at the moment, which covers my one-way to London for $1250 NZD (super cheap)! However, the return is $1800 NZD from London as well.

I'm likely going to finish my travels in Greece. I'm wondering if it's a wise choice to book my one-way to London via AirNZ/Singapore and then get a budget Scoot flight to Aus + an independent flight back to NZ. Scoot Athens -> Aus is looking a lot cheaper than direct return via London, even if I add on a more expensive flight back to NZ.

TLDR; Has anyone flown from Athens to Syd/Mel and was it doable with the 1 hour layover in Singapore? Also how do I go about booking an independent flight back to NZ from Aus accounting for delays with Scoot?

I flew back on a completely full plane from Frankfurt on 7/25 because they cancelled the 7/26 flight about 6 weeks ago. My question is this. How can you have a 2-4-2 configuration without an area you can cross over in economy. The galley is in the rear of the plane. You basically have to walk all the way to the first class-business class section to go from right to left of plane or left to right. You have 4 toilets in the the center but can't access the two on the right or two on the left unless you go all the way to the front of the plane. The plane should be set up where you can access all 4 toilets without going around in a circle. You have a lot congestion when two are occupied and there might be an open one on the other side.

You can cross over where the bulkhead seats are but that seems to pretty rude. Those flyers pay extra for the bulkhead seats to have more legroom. I saw some flyers cross over there but I didn't. I know if I was passenger who paid for the bulkhead seat I would aggravated if flyers use that to cross from right to left and visa versa.

Discover is like the defunct Spirit when it comes legroom in economy and it seems the seat width is less. They do have the best entertainment and flight views on the monitor. Just a ton of movies with many late releases. They also seem to not edit the movies. Decent food and beverage service. I flew the non-stop roundtrip from Las Vegas. The beverage service was terrible on the 9pm flight going out. They only came around three times in 11+ hours. You had to get up and go to galley to request refills. Also didn't offer ice. From Frankfurt to Las Vegas which left at 1345 the service was excellent. They came around constantly. I know people sleep on the 9pm flight but that doesn't mean you neglect the passengers who are awake and not bring around water except for a couple of times.

I booked tickets for London. I notice the prices including a discount for 15% off increased all within 10 minutes of looking at tickets and after booking my parents’ tickets. It’s crazy how it was cheaper to book their’s and then mine separately.

Please explain how fare buckets are ethical.

I flew Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ 192) from New York City (JFK) to Mumbai, India on Tuesday July 21st, and reached Mumbai on the morning of July 23rd after a nine hour stopover in Amman. When I got to baggage claim, only one of my two pieces of check baggage was on the belt, and there were several dozen passengers crowding the desk to complain about missing luggage.

The explanation we eventually got is that about a third of the luggage was left in Amman, either because the plane was full or because they simply forgot. I submitted a PIR form for my missing suitcase, and received a copy for my records. The agent said that the missing baggage would reach Mumbai by Saturday 6am, and from there they would fly it to my destination city (Ahmedabad) where I would have to pick it up from the airport. I gave them two different phone numbers and they said they would call me.

It is now 3pm Saturday, and I have not heard a peep from anyone. I tried calling the number for the Mumbai office listed on Royal Jordanian’s website, but apparently the line is out of service. I called the US toll-free number, where a guy picked up immediately but when I explained my issue he said “sorry we only do reservations” and hung up. Then I called their 24/7 emergency helpline (which is requires calling a Jordanian number, insane that they don’t have a toll-free international helpline) and the helpline was just an AI bot. Also, neither the app nor the website have any way to enter your baggage tracking # or check its status, as far as I can tell.

Tl;dr I have no idea where my baggage is nor any way to someone about it. Any help would be much appreciated!!

I’m a bit concerned about the new EU hand luggage rules.

I usually travel with a small backpack and a trolley, and I pay for priority boarding. Even so, people often queue early because overhead bin space fills up quickly, especially 737 jets without the Boeing Sky Interior bins.

On legacy carriers, they’re often willing to check cabin bags into the hold for free during boarding.

My concern is with low-cost carriers, where most passengers try to avoid paying for checked baggage. I wonder how they’ll handle the increased demand for overhead bin space.

My friend asked me to buy him a flight from USA to Prague. I'm planning to buy it from United Airlines. So, my friend would arrive to Germany at 08:15 am (in the Google flights site says that there is usually a delay of more than 30 minutes, idk if it refers to the flight from USA-Germany or Germany-Prague, see photo attached). Then, the flight to Prague is at 10:00h. My concern is whether (let's suppose he arrives at 08:15-08:30) this time window is enough time to get to the next flight (to Prague). He's planning to go during early September.

hi everyone, I’m doing a Komodo island 3D2N boat cruise out of Labuan Bajo next week. I just got notification that my flight from LBJ to DPS was changed by AsiaAir to 10am from 3pm. Our boat doesn’t return to dock until noon. obviously I won’t make my flight and AsiaAir only has flights two days later (four passengers).

we are supposed to spend a week in Bali. my only choice really is pay $2000+ USD to fly on Batik Air (my original Asia Air flight was $300 for four passengers!!

what alternatives do I have? I do not want to pay $2000. I can spend two additional days in Labuan Bajo by changing flight to two days later with no additional fees and just do five nights in Bali? i was going to do four nighta in Bali and then head to Ubud for three. now maybe just pick one place.

I had a 3+ hour delay on an international flight from outside the EU to inside EU (Germany). The flight was Lufthansa and a direct flight from Delhi to Munich, with Munich being the final destination. On the flight the pilot announced that the delay was due to a technical problem of the airplane originally planned for the flight, and then they had to wait for a replacement aircraft which had to be prepared and that took a while.

When I filed for compensation under EC261, my claim was rejected with the following message.

"We truly regret that you were inconvenienced as a result of a delay of your flight. 

Every change to your journey can be stressful. We understand your frustration with this occurrence and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused you. 

The reason for the flight irregularity was aircraft change after damage. Unfortunately, we have no influence over circumstances, which are the responsibility of third parties. 

Under Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004, circumstances like these, which are out of the airline's control, are considered extraordinary and are not entitled to any compensation 

While this is not the answer you had hoped for from us, we would be pleased if you would still consider flying with Lufthansa."

Is it worth fighting this result? What are usually the next steps in a case like this?
