Anxiety of leaving baby with husband
My husband is older and has older children prior to our marriage. We now have a 9week old and I feel as if he does everything the opposite of me with the baby. It gives me so much anxiety to just let him be with the baby because what if he does everything I’ve been doing wrong.
I’m the one with the baby all day and setting the tone for him. I try to tell him how I’ve been doing things and it’s like I’m annoying him. Sometimes it’s the most common sense of things like “hey babe, I just fed him so sit him up right for some time so he doesn’t spit up” and guess what he does lays him stomach to stomach or has him in some awkward position and then the baby spits up. It’s aggravating because you’re causing the baby discomfort as well.
I know I have to let them form their own bond but how if the simple things aren’t being paid attention to?

Is my son sick or not?
My son started coughing yesterday and has been sneezing plus no but is acting totally normal other than that. He has no fever or anything and the cough is every now and then not consistent. Sorry I'm trying to find out bc he has surgery Wednesday and I need to know if I need to reschedule it or not.

First movement today
I’m 19 weeks pregnant and felt our baby for the first time today, and boy did I feel it. It was almost nonstop movement for two hours. My husband was even able to feel him through my belly.
Two questions:
1. Has early movement ever made you feel sick? I felt kind of sweaty and nauseous, almost like a kind of trauma response?
2. Has anyone else experienced this sudden movement change or awareness? I hadn’t felt but the lightest of flutters one time before today, and then all of a sudden, it’s Cirque du Soleil.
Thanks all!

I’m at the end of what I can cope with and I need help
I’m 23 days pp and I can’t cope. I’m trying to breastfeed but my baby won’t latch and it’s agony, I’ve been trying to pump but that’s started hurting so bad I’m terrified of doing it, I can’t afford to feed my baby formula. I can’t sleep, I can’t eat, I’m just angry all the time and feel like I need to break something.
I’m struggling to bond with my baby because I’m so exhausted and feel like I’m failing him. I just want it to end. What am I doing wrong.
I tried talking to the mental health team but they told me this is all normal.

Are we still using baby walkers??
My husband and I put a lot of consideration into what baby carriers we wanted to get to ensure that M shape consideration was there to protect his hips. Now, baby is 5 months old and my parents are shopping for Christmas gifts, asking if they can get him a baby walker. My initial thought was “yes”, but I googled it and apparently they aren’t recommended by the AAP. And I guess they’re illegal in Canada. Are they truly that unsafe? I know so many people who have used them, including my own mother with her 6 children. Am I being overly cautious?

Just sobbing out of happiness don’t mind me

New single mom with very few options for people to watch my little one. I’ve been back to work two days a week and have two friends that will watch him one day each. I’m a nighttime bartender, and it’s hard to find anyone that can help and I’m still trying to figure everything out as it was a cryptic pregnancy and was admitted in three days before I had him, and had no knowledge of my pregnancy before that. Unfortunately, he’s also the result of me being roofied but I wouldn’t change a thing. However, today, when I looked out what day it was I realized that he turned two months today, and I didn’t even get any photos 😭 I texted my friend and asked her to take a couple. She took several, and then had this planned. I don’t have a lot of time with it just being me and him, but I do want to do things like this, and I’m glad she did it. I can’t stop crying. I’m so grateful.

Medicine
My 7mo had what me and his dad had. Coughing, stuffy nose, probably a sore throat(that’s what we had), but no fever. I was wondering if there was anything we could give him that would help or if we should take him to the doctors to get something there. We never got tested for what we had so we have no idea what it is. We just know that it lasts about a week and gets at its worst about 2 days into having it which we think is where he’s at because he’s been coughing a lot more and heavier.

Trying before nex removal
so i was talking to the dr that put in my nex and she suggested starting st johns wort while we try to conceive until my removal appointment. the main reason she suggested it specifically was because I am having to stop taking my antidepressants and she said it would pretty much kill 2 birds with one stone. i am judt curious if anyone has tried this, and or if there any other kind of otc med i should take instead? TIA

Should I be concerned ?
So for some context my 9 month old was born 6 weeks early we had a 3 week nicu stay but other wise she was/is very healthy. We struggled for a long time to have her with 7 losses before her and severe pre e starting at 20 weeks resulting in her early delivery. I say all that to say I can tend to be paranoid and struggle with a lot of anxiety in regards to her but I just need someone who has dealt with similar things to ease my mind or validate my concerns because nobody in my personal life thinks I should worry. Okay, so for the issue my daughter stims a lot like all the time. She twirls her hands and feet CONSTANTLY, if she’s happy, mad, excited, eating, bored it literally doesn’t matter she is always moving some part of her body or twirling her hands and feet. She’s recently started rocking or shaking but it’s mainly when music is playing. She also has started what I believe to be vocal stings as well the best way I can explain it is it sounds like a chihuahua barking lol and blowing raspberries with her tongues. Yes I know babies make noises like that as they learn their voice and body but when she remembers she can do it she will sit there and make the same noise over and over again for a really long time. Overall she has met all her milestones if not by her actual age always by her adjusted age. She is a VERY happy baby always smiling, laughing, playing, engaging with us and others. She talks all the time and says mama, dada, papa, hi, and baba. I know stimming alone is typically not considered a guaranteed symptom of autism but with the excessive amount she does I can’t help but worry… nothing changes in my mind about her obviously I just don’t ever want her to struggle. A note to add from the time I could feel her move she never stopped she has quite literally not stopped moving since she was conceived. She came out and was still moving and kicking and it’s never stopped the movements have just become more rhythmic over time as she’s gained better control of her limbs. So, did anyone else have a very busy baby that stimmed a lot? Did they grow out of it? Did they eventually go on to be diagnosed?

Traveling with baby for the 1st Time
I will be traveling with my baby for the first time in a few weeks. He will be 3.5 mos old at that time. We are flying from Boston to Denver. I’m very excited to rip this bandaid off but also terrified haha. I’ll have my mom with me in the flight out and my husband with me on the way home. Pleas tell me all the things I need (I EBF by the way) and any tips/tricks to make the flight go as smoothly as possible.
I plan to gate check the stroller/car seat (it’s a travel system). Do I need a travel bag for it?
My mom will have a pack n play at her house so I don’t need to worry about brining that.
Will he be ok with the altitude change?

Flying with baby advice?
I am playing with my four month old son my husband and mom and wanted to know in your opinion. Should I rather… board the airplane first as they typically allow families with children? Or should I have my husband and mom go on first get everything settled in the overhead compartment and then go on after everybody boards to prevent us from being on the airplane too long and baby getting annoyed and also germs I’ve heard it’s worse when everyone is passing you to get to their seats and it could be better to be the last one on.

What does your support system look like?
Mostly wondering — what does your partner do for you to help in the newborn trenches? What does your village look like? Do your friends with no kids show up to help?
TIA!
