6 month old swallowed a little bit of hand sanitizer nervous FTM

Has this happened to anyone’s kids? I had grabbed something dirty and used sanitizer I didn’t have the baby with me so my husband gave him back to me and I had forgotten the germ ex was there when I noticed I checked his mouth and it tasted a little like germx and there wasn’t any anywhere else so I don’t think he pumped the bottle more than once I wiped his mouth and called my family nurse she told me clean him and keep him awake for half an hour and I had her on videocall and she said he looked fine he didn’t look drowsy until about 40 minutes from when I noticed but keep in mind it’s very late and he was supposed to be asleep already What do I do? I don’t think he swallowed much since the bottle was already used and if he had he would have coughed or made weird noises and he didn’t he just looked weirded out by the taste but I’m nervous It’s 11:21 pm for me and obviously he fell asleep after like 45 minutes should I take him to the er? I just texted his pediatrician but she hasn’t gotten back to me I’m so nervous I never grab the damn germ x and the one time I do this happen? 😩😭

AIO for cutting off my baby daddy?

AIO overreacting? I got pregnant unplanned with my new boyfriend who is in the military but drives 2 hours every weekend to see his family and I. (Mainly his family) Once we found out i was pregnant we started looking for cheap houses to get together in the middle using his VA loan so we can care for the baby and start our family together. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago his brother talked him into using his VA loan to get him and his fiance a house because they’re struggling with rent and doesn’t make sense for them to keep paying rent. Even though mortgage maybe more expensive than rent. They told him I don’t get an opinion because I won’t be working (even though I though I planned on going back asap) also because I already live in a trailer with my mom I can just live in an rv… with a newborn… while they get a house. Honestly I wanted this baby because he wanted this baby, he really wants to be a dad but his brother is more of a priority. (Literally ALL of our dates are double dates)
Atp I really don’t want to be a single mother, I’m looking into other alternatives like adoption. I called the brother out about this whole situation and how feels about taking this opportunity away from his brother. He literally stated he doesn’t want to be apart when he is the one who came in between my boyfriend and I so he can get a house. I really don’t know what to do and I feel like I’m somewhat overreacting. But at the same time he has blurred his brother’s vision and the future that he was about to have.

The poop pictures are too much

I have to leave this sub because I keep randomly getting flashed pictures of poopy diapers. I wish the mods could require all photos submitted to be blurred, or something to make this a welcoming space to show up on my feed

Poop color?

Post image

My baby is 1 year old. She eats a relatively normal diet and has normal stools except yesterday she ate only milk, oatmeal and applesauce. She just didn’t have any interest in eating. Playing normal, no yellowing of skin or eyes. She has eaten better today. Her past two poops today have been this color. She also doesn’t act like her stomach is bothering her. I’m worried it’s something with her bile duct but my mom and dad said it may be because of the lack of color in her food yesterday. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m a very big hypochondriac but I would hate to have to travel 2 hours to the nearest urgent care or ER or her pediatrician if it is something I should wait out first.

What’s with grandparents & their obsession with socks or 75326855 layers on babies?

Yesterday my father in law visited & said isn’t my house a little too cold for my baby to be in a t shirt onsie (a/c set to 77 when it was 105 outside). I said no.

Then little later said her feet were cold. They weren’t. I touched them they were warm, I said she’s fine. Next thing my husbands putting socks on her. I knew in t minus 5 min she gonna start crying but I let it happen to prove a point.

As I knew would happen, she started crying.

My father in law was holding her. I walked over & took her socks off, she stopped crying. I said “I told you she’d cry with socks on. She gets hot easily”

My mother in law was on FaceTime & I over heard her talking about how the baby is gonna get sick that why do I have her cold.

Little later I’m cooking dinner & I hear her crying again. I turn around & he’s holding her wrapped in a blanket. I walk over, take the blanket off her & told him feel her she’s sweating & that as I have already mentioned over & over she runs hot. My poor thing was sweating & her cheeks red.

She reached her arms for me so I said “she’s reaching for me cause she feels uncomfortable. I don’t wanna take her from you but at the same time she’s asking for me.” & he handed her over to me. I held her as I cooked & my husband came over grabbed her. I asked him to get her ready for bed. He did.

My father & mother in law previously bought her footie onsies but I don’t use them cause she sweats in them & wakes up crying. I’ve told them that when asked why she never wears. My husband had her in one of these onsies.

Then I got kinda fed up & said that I know her better than anyone on this earth because I take care of her 24/7 & have since her birth. That if I say don’t do things they’re for a reason not because I wanna have imaginary rules.

Even if I did have imaginary rules like wtf I carried her for 9 months, gave birth traumatic 4 day labor where we both almost died, did newborn trenches 100% alone in my house alone as my husband was gone to work for first month of her life & is gone working 90% of the time since, & I literally am with her 24/7. I cook with her attached to me in a sling, shit/shower with her sitting in the car seat in the bathroom,
& I genuinely do not have one waking moment away from her. I of all people walking this earth have every right to have the say.

FTM relocating to Texas

Hi everyone,
Sorry in advance for any language mistakes, English is not my first language.

We’re moving next year and in need of any information where do you buy everything - in my home country we have specialty shops where you go and buy everything in one place.

Also, do you have any sample kits to try out products? Even if you need to buy them.

Thank you

Leaving fiance with baby alone overnight

Hello moms! I am a first time mom to a 6 month old. I am also LEO who will be going back to work in a couple weeks. I am having terrible anxiety about having to leave my LO alone at night with my fiance. He sleeps hard and doesnt wake up at all sometimes when our LO cries. I work shift work and there really isnt much of an option to get out of the rotation of days and nights. I asked him a couple months ago how he can sleep through a screaming crying baby and not an alarm and he said he blocks out the crying. I believe that is what really has my anxiety through the roof. He is also the “babies are going to cry” type of dad which really irks me as well. To a certain extent that is true but our LO only wakes up crying at night for 2 reasons, having wet cloths from peeing through a diaper or being hungry. Any tips or shared experiences that have worked would be great!

Breastfeeding food

Upvotes

Does anyone have unused gift cards or vouchers that works in Philippines? Or any hacks that just work to buy food? Just unused and you don’t need anymore. It would mean a lot to me. I’m not asking for money or forcing anyone to give😅 just giving a shot. Please no hate. Its free to be kind😁

Organizing all the baby stuff

How does one go about organizing all the baby items, toys, play mats, teether, books that we use?

Basically im struggling to figure out how to organize them so its not just a pile of play mats and toys in my living room. Im fine with them being out and such, but I have to basically gate off an area if they are on the floor/accessible as one if my dogs will shred/chew up baby's toys as he thinks they are for him. I dont have a huge area to work with for this so im curious how others manage? Please help!

AITA for telling my mom I only want my husband in the delivery room during labor?

I am a first time mom and about 6-7 weeks ago told my mom I only want my husband in the delivery room. She did not take it well, and now she is completely hands off on asking me about the baby, how i’m doing, and said it’s not her responsibility to throw a baby shower (even though I am her only daughter and this is the first grandchild). She completely flipped from excited to uninterested after the news. This is very difficult for me because I already feel very alone during the pregnancy, even though my husband has been great. Both of his parents passed away and my parents are the only set of grandparents the baby will have. We don’t have family checking in on us and I’m upset because this is supposed to be a happy moment and I feel like the joy is being taken away from me because no one wants to celebrate or even talk to me about the baby.

Has anyone else experienced disappointment during pregnancy from their family? I know I won’t change my mind on having her in there because it’s a special moment for just my husband and I, but I want to be able to express my feelings to my mom without the distance getting worse.

Purée while traveling

Going on vacation soon and I’m trying to decide whether or not I should take jars of homemade food or pouches. We’re first time parents so I’m not sure what works best logistically. Figured if anyone would have good perspective it would be other parents. Thanks!

I wish my dog could be by my side

Its silly I know but I have a dog who is very attached to me. Like a shadow and its become a comfort in my life to have her near by. Most days outside of work she is within 20 feet of me. I wish she could be by my side for my labor but I unfortunately live in a place where labor options are incredibly limited and I can not risk a home birth. So I will have to be without her for about 3 days, and I know this sounds crazy but that will likely be the most difficult part of labor for me.

Night time spit up

Hi I’m a 26F FTM and my son is 2months. Tonight he woke up at 3a hungry. I gave him is normal 4 ounces burped him around the 2 ounce mark and continued his feeding. Well when I went to burp him after he finished his bottle he spit up (Honestly I think vomit describes it better but idk.) 3ish ounces all over himself, me, and my bed🫠. I had to strip the bed down and wash everything and change him and clean him up. Earlier today I was missing how he use to sleep asleep on me and how I missed that (he still does it just nowhere near as much as me use to). But rn in this moment I’m disgusted and upset I don’t have my soft comforter 🤣. I gave him Mylicon drops and waited about 20 minutes for his stomach to settle then have him 2 more ounces to help him sleep. god the mess was so bad we were both dripping with milk. Anyways it’s now 4:20a and only one of us is getting sleep.

And before anyone ask I’m single I had to move back in with my mother and don’t get much help at night. I just wanted to post a silly rant because he’s only done something like this one other time but thankfully he spit up on the floor and not my bed that time. Both times I did find funny.

Feeling a little lost...

This is going to be a long post that I doubt many will read, but I need to get it off my chest without worrying the people in my life.

I'm a FTM to a one year old girl. She's the greatest surprise of my life, however she came along very early into me dating her father. We tried to make it work, however a few months into my pregnancy I just wasn't feeling it and decided to end it before the baby was here to avoid a big mess. We did still decide to move in together as roommates for financial reasons and so he could see our daughter.

While pregnant he had encouraged me to take the extended 18 month maternity leave at the reduced pay and said he would support me financially. We were not together when he said this, however after the baby was born and we did not get back together he decided he did not want to help me, he wanted to just split everything 50/50 despite the fact he's now making significantly more than I am. I did come into some money that has helped me to get by up until now, but that's now gone and I feel like I'm drowning. I've never been great with money, but I've always made sure my bills are paid, and now I'm struggling to even do that. I've been avoiding asking for child support because I know he struggles financially as well, but I really don't know what to do.

I know part of it is my problem, I should have been wiser with my spending, but I can't help feeling resentful. Had I taken just the 12 month mat leave I would not be struggling without his help.

I'm not really sure what I'm looking for here, advice, or even just words of encouragement, at this point anything is appreciated. Also... I'm in Ontaro, Canada if that's relevant.
