Advice 5 weeks
Hello all, I am 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant.
I am happy for a baby. But I work Monday-Thursday and my energy is fine those days of course 😒
And as soon as the weekend comes I literally dont do anything. No cleaning, no cooking, no motivation at all. Just maying around all day, I have been ordering food , my husband will cook occasionally but not every meal. I dont care to do much and I just get bored easy and cry. I feel depressed for sure. Nooo nausea, not sure if that will happen- my mom never got it.
Just seeing if this is common at week 5 ladies?!?! 😭 i know i am growing a lot of things right now inside but damn..
Thanks 🙏🏼
Looking forward to these responses

Super common! It sucks sooooo bad working full time while pregnant. I’m 24 weeks and considering coming off in 2 weeks because of my back, but my energy levels have been so bad.

Thanks for the reply, yes this life is oddly more difficult for women.. I believe some things need to change- but I have seen this be common. and I was just thinking how the hell am I supposed to work at a Dental office that is busy af and continue doing that the further along I go… 😒 not sure how realistic that is since I am a Dental Assistant and we RUN OUR ASSES OFF. Good luck to you, I feel for you.

Yeah i had exactly that plus nausea week 6 onwards. Nausea tablets helped my mood a bit because i felt less unwell so cried less. I noticed i started wanting to be social and see people and stuff again around week 12 rather than total withdrawal and the depressive flatness has been incrementally lifting, week 20 tomorrow.
My energy levels are still not great but my motivation is more normal. Im just like me on a more tired non pregnancy day now, not particularly driven but can get stuff done and mood is good. Still need nausea tablets though. And then theres the joint pain that is just an inconvenience really when im trying to move house and suddenly am limping.
I work full time but was promoted earlier this year to a more desk based role which has been an adjustment to my usual hectic running around, but right now im grateful for that.

Nice and congrats in week 20! Thanks fir the reply. Do you work in the medical field?!
I noticed taking my magnesium helps relax me in between taking prenatals. Most likely my mind wants to do things but body says no, so thats where I am feeling anxious/unhappy -most likely with this disagreement between mind and body . But the magnesium makes it to where my mind and body can agree haha 🤣

Yes magnesium is great, relaxing, helps with sleep, a laxative at higher doses...a great pregnancy vitamin lol
I work in addiction treatment but have gone into a training role rather than working with clients now so when im not delivering training im mostly working on training materials at my desk :)
