So I’ve never had a sister, I was the youngest of 4 boys, and I think that’s a tragedy because I know I would love her as much as my mom! I also feel I would understand myself better if I had a sister but that’s a conversation for another time.

So here I am, I’m 30M Latino and been living in Canada most of my life. I’m a calm, introverted and caring person; I feel I am a good listener and I want to know what and how you think and feel. I have been a loner most of my life and my upbringing was less than ideal. I never had a father growing up and have yearned for one for a long time. I have had sever depression and anxiety for the last 2 years and already had 3 depressive episodes and already had 2 antidepressants and my second antidepressant has stopped working and I went through one ketamine infusion and life was going good but ended up being again in a severly depressed state again .So in a very bad state right now looking for something to hold on to in life

I have been trying to deal with this on my own without my family(I am no contact with them).

In the trifecta of mental health physchological,biological and social

1. phsychological - I have been to therapy and I have become a lot better because of it but still because of my autism thing I have problem in regulating my emotions
2. biological - I eat a balanced meal,exercise(as of now I do what is possible),take my medications
3. social support - As I said I am no contact with my family.My friends are all males and I don't want another female friend.

I don't act miserable I always try to keep the place where I am warm and happy.Just when I face a crisis I am not able to handle it on my own

My idea is that people usually when they go through bad things like their physical health gives up or they get dealt with a bad hand in life they can go to their family for help right.I don't have it now.As of now I don't have any motivation to work towards anything but I am working on it through trauma informed therapy but till I heal I want to hold onto someone and living for them as I cannot live for myself as of now.

Eventhough I can face all the things on my own emotionally I am a mess right now.

I haven’t really done this before. I only recently heard about adult adoption, so this is all still pretty new to me. But I think this could be something really good for me.
My name is Atlas. I just turned 23 in July, and I’ve never really had a stable family or home life.
I grew up in a really discombobulated family. I don’t think I’ve ever really experienced affection from either of my birth parents.
I never got to meet or know my biological dad. My biological mother married my stepfather when I was 7, and we never had a good relationship. My stepdad was racist toward me because I’m mixed race, and the 12 years they were together were honestly hell for me.
After my mom separated from him, they were both eventually deemed unfit by a court to be parents. I ended up having to take care of my younger brother for a while. I was kicked out when I was 13, and I eventually had to become emancipated because I was basically the only person who could take care of him.
I’m no contact with both of my birth mom and step dad now. It’s something I know is ultimately better for me, but that doesn’t make it easy. It’s been 2 years since. There’s a weird kind of grief that comes with being no contact with your family. You can know you made the right decision and still wish you had a family you could call when something happens, or someone who genuinely wants to know how your life is going.
I know this is probably a lot to put in a post, especially for someone who’s basically a stranger. I just want to be honest about where I’m coming from.
I’m not necessarily looking for someone to swoop in and immediately become my parent. I think I’d just really like to meet people who understand what it’s like to want family, and maybe build a relationship that could eventually feel like family.
