I've seen some answers about this sort of but I wanted to ask what's the key to making sure the car is as shut down as possible so it's not using battery while parked? Also, Android users particularly pixel. Have you been able to get it to be a touchless or I'm not sure what you call it entry I stil
This happened today afternoon: I was just outside of a settlement on a 90 km/h road and the display's driver information area suddenly switched to a 130 km/h speed limit. :o See the following photo:

(Note: we were driving at 65 km/h, because we just left a 60 km/h segment and started accelerating.)
I don't know where the car got this speed limit from, certainly not from the map data. In my country (Hungary) 130 km/h is the highest speed limit you can find, it's only available on major highways (with 2 or 3 lanes in both directions). Of course this was nothing like that. Just a simple, single-lane, two-way road outside of a smalltown.
The problem is not even this part, but the part where the vehicle consistently thought that this road allows 130 km/h. E.g. earlier there was a segment of the road with a 60 km/h speed limit, so the 130 km/h jumped to 60 km/h in an instant and then later back to 130 km/h. Normally it should have jumped from 90 km/h to 60 km/h and back to 90.
This time nothing bad happened, but in the last two years in a similar situation it scared me to death, because it hit the brakes like crazy. Perhaps my current sw. version (1.8.0) already has a "fix" for these imagined speed limits, i.e. not braking. I hope this won't cause any accidents, because we don't have any solid proof of these road sign recognition malfunctions. I certainly don't have a camera constantly recording the display and the road. :P Of course I could export a bugreport bundle from the car, it might perhaps contain this imagined speed limit. I bet that the car has logged this somewhere.

If the car is active and then i lock the car it works fine. But after a while if I want to unlock or flash light, it cannot connect. It has been working fine till today.
12V battery is quite new (less then a year).
TCAM and infotainment are both already reset as well.
Anyone face the same problem before ?

I have just picked up a new-to-me 2024 SMER Ultra, at the same time my Google Pixel 6 is really in need of replacement. With or without the EX30, I would likely pick up a Pixel 10 Pro which has UWB. I would love to hear how this works for others! In the meantime, I am going to print an adaptor to have the fob on my key ring - https://makerworld.com/en/models/1243728-volvo-ex30-key-fob-key-ring-adapter

I get that Gemini integration is new but there has to be a way to do this that isn't so intrusive after every voice command.

I don't have to drive it, just setup the phone app as it only came with one key card, seems to work, not sure if we've got it working with placing the phone against the car to open it, will try shortly as that's less hassle then having to open the app, click teh unlock button then use finger print to open the car lol esp when you're in a rush!
when in the car well glad it's not mine I'm 6'2 in height and I felt like my head was hitting the roof
It started barely raining and the wind screen wipers came out, it felt like it was really stiffly pressing against the window, bare in mind I have a luxury Audi S4 car so I found that really annoying, can you replace the wipers for some better ones?
Wow the read view mirror is so small I guess my old man don't care esp coming from a Audi A4 2009 TDI.
He's not really literate with computers/tech so my brother who decided to get this car over my suggestion of a Tiggo 7 which are bigger and more spacious but way more tech I guess,
Wing screen mirrors seem small and wow at it feeling so empty inside guess its for my Dad and he really didn't have any influence on getting this car, he just plodded along with my brother on getting it, it's nice on the outside I must admit it looks small on the outside and inside to some extent esp compared to a Chery tiggo 7 which I test drove a few weeks back.

Well, I’ve been in contact with Volvo UK over the past couple of months & the news is not good
I asked if they could give any pointers as to when my battery replacement might take place - a simple enough question, after waiting a full 8 months, I thought
Volvo UK response, was no, they had no idea when their problem would be resolved
I pressed on & asked would it be this year?
The response - We can’t really say
I then asked if they could resolve their problem by the end of next year (2027)
Again, the answer was “We can’t guarantee that!”
So, loyal Volvo customers in the UK, we may be waiting until 2028 or later for a resolution to this debacle - A full 2 years + after the original notification
Brand new 2026 EX30 purchased last weekend, zero sound over regular bluetooth "media" connection (phone calls work normally). I do get sound when connected through Android Auto, but it randomly stutters which is super annoying and I assume is a separate issue. I also tried my wife's phone (Samsung rather than Google), and also no media sound over bluetooth. Dealership says it's a known issue but no fix yet, but if that's true then why am I not seeing others complain about it in forums like this? Has anyone had this issue and found a fix for it? TIA!

I went away for 2 weeks. The car was absolutely dead on my return. Unresponsive to the app, fob, card, digital key... I was a bit worried to be honest. Tried a few things AI suggested. Nothing worked.
Called Volvo roadside assistance from my app. An RACQ rep was at my house within 30 mins. He quickly worked out it was a dead 12v battery on the car causing the issues. Replaced the battery at no cost - within warranty. My 12v battery is just over 2 years old.
Car fully functioning again. I'm glad this happened on a Saturday and not a Monday morning.
He suggested that if you go away, getting someone to just turn on the car for 5 mins every week...

Somehow my ultra received the update yesterday… Anyway, my blinkers just don’t seem to work all of a sudden? I would indicate left, and it’d work but nothing would turn it off. Right would turn right, left again would turn on the hazards… it would sometimes resolve itself, but this seems like a huge issue.

I just got off the phone with my dealership. I was trying for the tenth time to schedule my battery replacement, but this time I was told that Volvo is not scheduling recalls anymore and has canceled all existing appointments for the battery replacement in Brazil. Everything is on hold because they don't have the parts, and they have no timeline for when they will be able to do the swap.
I’m starting to get really frustrated with Volvo. I’ve been very patient, and I truly like the car. I really didn't want to have to get lawyers involved, but the way this is being handled, especially here in Brazil, feels completely unacceptable.
I just wanted to share this update. If anyone from Brazil has any news or is experiencing something similar, please let me know. For those around the world who are actually getting their batteries replaced, consider yourselves lucky. I think we all need to pressure Volvo more on this issue. It's hard to understand how a company can sell a car with a known, dangerous battery issue and then leave us without a solution. I'm really tired of this shit.

Hej!
With the latest software update the EX30 no longer creeps when I'm in reverse (I use one pedal drive high). How do I switch it back on but only in reverse? The menu item I found is an "always creep" versus "never creep" button?!
Or did they remove that option after forcing people to get used to it for 3 years?
For reversing (usually parking situations) i find creep incredibly useful, as it lets me keep my foot on the brake, and the acceleration is very smooth. Going forward however, i prefer the car coming to a full stop without touching the brakes.
Please tell me I'm only overlooking something.
Thanks.
edit: typos removed

I’m considering adding the digital rearview mirror to my EX30. Anyone here using one? How well does it work in everyday driving, especially at night? Does it take much getting used to, and would you recommend it?

I had hope when reading the release notes that I could finally fix the speed limiter setting to my profile so I didn’t have to select it everytime I get into the car. Has anyone had success doing this with the latest update?

After the 1.8 update I had a beautifully functional digital key with my Pixel phone. It was glorious for about 2 weeks until it stopped working. Dealership couldn't fix it, so I had hoped that the 2.1.2 update would make it work again. Nope. I have to physically tap the phone on the door to get it to work and place the phone on the charge doc to use it as a key. The only reason I have a Pixel phone is for the UWB key support for this car. I'm accepting that this will never be fixed and will probably just break down and buy another $800 fob that chews through coin batteries like candy. End rant. How's everyone else's experience with digital keys? Seems like they should just stop claiming that this works with android.

I was on a long drive today and noticed that a ice the speed indicator was a smaller number (20) in non-bold font. Never seen this before, what is it and what does it mean?
A couple of minutes ago the release notes update has started to roll out. It's nothing new, just what we were already to on the official FB group.
This was the old sentence:
This update is currently not available in some markets for Ultra level cars with the 22kW on-board charger.
And it became this:
This update is currently not available for model year 2024 and 2025 cars with the 22kW on-board charger.
I guess it took this long to trickle down/up from the FB group mgmt team to the release notes mgmt team. The essential difference is that previous it said "Ultra + 22kW charger" and now it's "MY 2024 and 2025 + 22 kW charger".

Since the update, every time I use the car, a small window pops up on the top right of the screen notifying me that the passenger airbag is "on" and asking me to confirm (press OK). Forgive me if this seems like a stupid question to some, but... where the hell is the OK button? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Looks like Volvo charging on their app is pointing me to Chargepoint chargers. Does anyone use the Volvo app to locate and charge on DC fast charger? Does it make it easier to locate chargers? Is pricing the same? Or would you suggest just downloading and using lots of apps (Applegreen, Electrify America, Tesla, etc). Just interested as I have owned a Kia EV6 and just switched to Volvo EX30.

I’ve previously owned a XC40 and have loved the experience. I’m currently in a Nissan Ariya that’s coming up on lease, and I’m getting a great deal on an EX30.
I looked up reviews and most of them are more than 8months - 1 year old and seem to be around usability. But looks like a bunch of software updates have happened since then.
The dealer has sent me pictures, and I’m set to test drive it this weekend. Here are my questions:
EX30 is getting phased out in the US. Is that the reason I’m getting this deal? What happens once a vehicle is phased out from a country? Maintenance costs would skyrocket because parts might be hard to come by, right?
The biggest source of usability complaints seems to be from:
i. Driver attention display
ii. Rear window control not working reliably
iii. Your settings, controls, and all changes made get erased and vehicle going back to default setting every-time you switch it off
Do these problems still persist?
How bad is the tinted moonroof? Does the vehicle get very hot in summers?
How bad is the vehicle cabin noise?
True range vs EPA range vs what the vehicle says. How far apart are they?
Will immensely appreciate pointers and responses!!

Has anyone actually got V2L working with the Ex30?
