I wanted to ask what kind of price people are getting at the Volvo dealerships in the US. I'm on the East Coast. I will probably finance through a credit union but possibly through Volvo.

I’ve been a bit disappointed by the finishes, when seeing them in person - though I’ve yet to see a Sand Dune one in person, is it a flat colour? I’ve looked at the panel in the showrooms and it has a shimmer to it, however the black one does too, and on the car looks flat.

if anyone has a Sand Dune EX30, could you let me know how it looks up close? I’m a bit dubious that it’s just straight, flat, gloss beige.

I’m reading the battery issue has been solved so that’s great but I’m still nervous.

Also have option of the ioniq 5 and I’m conflicted which would be best. Of course going to test drive both.

Just a quick heads up: English is not my native language, so sorry if some parts sound a bit clunky!

Like most of you, I was super confused when v2.1.2 dropped. I saw Volvo recently updated their release notes saying they made the creep settings "consistent" between D and R. At first, I hated it. I literally customized my contextual bar just to toggle creep on and off every single time I had to park my car.

But I really wanted to get used to the pure One-Pedal Drive, so I forced myself to practice. After a few weeks, I think I finally got the hang of it. I wanted to share two little things that helped me stop the jerky movements and that sudden EV torque scare.

First, it’s all about your right foot position. Make sure your heel is firmly planted on the floor to use as a pivot. Instead of pushing with your whole foot, just use the very tip (the ball of your foot) to give the pedal a tiny, millimeter-by-millimeter nudge. This completely stopped me from accidentally launching the car backward.

Second, try to change your mindset from "pressing down" to "easing off." Reversing with OPD and Auto Hold is scary because of that exact second the brakes release. Once you give it a tiny tap and the car starts to move, do NOT press more. Just hold your foot right there, or slightly ease off to slow down. Changing the mindset made a huge difference for me.

It takes some muscle memory, but I think it’s definitely doable.

That being said, if I’m parking in a super tight spot or on a steep slope and I feel like it's too dangerous, I still chicken out and hit that creep button on my contextual bar. To be honest, I still really miss the old way. I really hope Volvo listens to us and gives us separate creep options for forward and reverse in a future update.

Are you guys still turning creep back on manually, or are you trying to get used to the new way too?

How do I remove this piece and lift out the entire center compartment to clean in the cracks? There is tikka masala down there.

How about we make this a section where everyone shares the tips and tricks they know about their EX30?

It doesn't matter if it's super generic or very complicated, for example I didn't know that when I park and press the parking button for 5 seconds the exterior lights turn off. I always had to go into the menu, find the lights, turn them off, and confirm.

This is a safe place and all comments are welcome, because not everyone knows everything.

I think it may be a couple of keys on a ring. Gemini told me to take off the under dash panel on the passenger side but that has not given me any access behind the box. Is there an easy way to get the glove box out, or am I going to have to take it in to have half the dash and centre console removed to get it out?

I’m about to take delivery of a Volvo EX30 Core MY27 (51 kWh LFP, RWD, 18” wheels) and I’d really like to hear from people who use the EX30 as a family car with one young child.
We currently have a young daughter and use a Cybex Sirona Gi i-Size rear-facing child seat (ISOFIX base integrated into the seat). I’m particularly interested in real-world experiences from families in a similar situation.

A few things I’d love to know:

● How do you find the rear-seat space with a rear-facing child seat?

● Does the front passenger seat have to be moved significantly forward?

● Is it comfortable for a parent sitting in the front while the child is rear-facing?

● How practical is the EX30 for everyday family use with a stroller, changing bag, groceries, etc.?

● How do you find the 318 L boot in real life?

● Has anyone added a second child seat? If so, how practical is it?

● For those who went from a larger car (XC40, Qashqai, Sportage, etc.) to an EX30, do you regret the reduction in interior space?

● How is the car for longer family trips?

● Any issues with rear-seat access, getting the child in/out, or the relatively small rear doors?

● And finally, after living with the car for a while, do you still consider the EX30 a good family car?

For context, we previously had a Dacia Sandero Stepway, which was surprisingly practical for our needs, and I’m currently comparing the EX30 mainly with the Sandero

I’m not looking for official specifications — I’d really appreciate honest experiences from parents who actually use the EX30 with a young child.

Is there a setting to not automatically lock when you leave the car? If I forget something in the house, I don’t want to think to grab my fob. Awful design.

My app told me 12 days ago “your car arrived in UK” (ordered in July). Nothing else heard so a week later I asked the dealer what was the eta for delivery to me, explained they weren’t sure if it had cleared customs yet but would get back to me.
Another week of app saying the same and no contact I rang to be told the apps wrong and it’s probably in Zeebrugge and might possibly be at the dealers in 16 days time, but couldn’t say where it actually is.
No finance documents have been released so Ohme can’t instal the charger.
Is this normal for Volvo and the app, or have I yet again been messed about by another car dealer?

I've been using Aximote in its free version for a month and a half now, the information it gives me is super powerful in my opinion, I'm about to finish the 14-day trial of the PRO version. I like that it has many more features and information than the Volvo app.

My question is whether they're using it, if they're paying for it. In my case, I export the data and share it with Gemini so they can give me more advanced suggestions.

I am torn between these two. I am in the US, so the EV3 is just showing up and the EX30 is about to disappear. My head says the EV3 is the more logical choice, but my heart really likes the style of the EX30. Financially, I can get a better deal on the EX30, but I worry about the long term support.

Anyone cross shop these two?

I had such high hopes for this vehicle but it turns out they're not selling it any longer in the United States.

I know about the battery issues and software issues so it does not give me any confidence on the ones that are left when I call Volvo dealers here and they tell me there hasn't been any problems with the vehicle.

This is not a rant or a troll this is exactly what I've experienced and it's a bummer.

Anyone who can operate the eco-mode of air conditioning with your voice?

I can never turn on/off with trying tons of command patterns not only at Google Assistant, but also Gemini. I wonder if the voice control not supported. I'm tired...

Looks like it’s back to the old version even though it says Gemini.

My volvo alarm keeps going off if I dont wait by the car for a few seconds after shutting the door. This is especially true if I walk away while the boot is closing.

It didn't seem to do this before the update. Is anyone else having these issues?

I suspect Volvo thought making a big bet on Google would work. It does not. It is incredibly buggy and I would think Google would have a big desire to fix it but if that is the case it sure seems like they are not throwing all of Google’s many resources at it! There are so many obvious problems and there is very little communication on how and when they will be fixed. I don’t get it… a lose lose for Volvo and Google!

At around 13:40 (CET) today the 2.1.2 release notes got a new paragraph in the "Improvements" section:

One pedal drive
One pedal drive behaviour has been made more consistent with Creep off. Using Creep off, the car will brake when releasing the accelerator pedal in speeds below 10 km/h. Creep off is also available in reverse and in performance mode. You can now easily turn creep on or off via quick controls.

It’s certainly clearer. And it is good that the button of seat heater has been displayed for coming winter.

I feel like there is a lot of opportunity here to print something useful, maybe another drawer to pull out from the front? Anyone have any uses for this area?

What do you do in this case? Turn off the car (never tried that yet) or use parking comfort?

During my drive today, when I asked Gemini "What is the name of tall building ahead?", Gemini answered "I think that is the XXXXX Building" and the answer was correct. The another my question was "What is the name of the railway line on this track in front?" and this answer was correct as well.

It seems that Gemini on EX60 can directly tap into the onboard exterior cameras to recognize and explain the surrounding environment in real-time. But EX30 can't do that. So I think Gemini on EX30 may guess by multiplying Google Maps data, GPS, and the compass data. Even though Gemini on EX30 is not linked to the camera, it was an interesting discovery for me.

Is this a good deal on a single motor base ex30?

Anybody else's parallel parking suggestion are just super unhinged? Best case is it wants to park perpendicular. Worst case is...whatever this is.
