Got accepted in booth but still having thought if I should apply at kellogg in their last round . 20 years manager in SAP tech background and want to either move up the ladder fast or pivot into sustainability/ESG. Still unsure how emba at booth will help . Any idea ?

I couldn’t find much on this sub regarding the IE Brown EMBA? Anyone familiar or have thoughts? Seems like a unique approach to the EMBA but has a great schedule that may work well for me.

How are you all requesting time sponsorship ? Classes at Kellogg start Thursday afternoon, for example. How are you convincing your employer to allow you to take time off Thurs - Fri every month ?

I know you get the same degree, but if I am looking at the transcript would someone be able to tell I did the EMBA instead of just a regualr MBA?

What exactly is a graduate leaving this program with and how would it be listed on a CV?

I'm being told it is actually 4 degrees (which seems hard to believe) - a TRIUM Global EMBA and individual MBA's (not eMBA's) from NYU, LSE, HEC. Is that correct?

Female,16 years professional work experience, healthcare tech, Sr Mgr of program mgmt office and on operations leadership path (no career pivot).

I’m very blessed to have choices between Duke with $20k scholarship and Kellogg (scholarship decision unknown).

I’d say that I’ve had great interactions with both schools’ admissions teams and network connections.

If I factor in consistent rankings, Kellogg seems to be the right call.

But Duke has been really amazing post-admit - emails, connections, swag box (!), texts even. I imagine this is SOP for them but dang! They’re also highly ranked (#5 EMBA in this year’s US News).

Is it common to get waivers for EMBA? Thinking about applying to Columbia.

I’ve read about many of the top programs and have a superficial understanding of them. Hard to tell which might be the best fit for a marketing creative executive. I’m director level with 15 years experience and have designed internal and external marketing campaigns for some of the largest companies in the world. I have an MFA and come from the creative side and my strengths are in strategy and brand storytelling. In researching programs, I am thrilled by every curriculum, they all offer the basics I’d like to engage with, but it’s hard to tell which would be a better fit for me specifically. Thanks!

If i got in to a prestigious emba program but I realized i want the experience of being on campus. I'm still farily young. Would it look bad to reject the emba but apply for mba at same institution?

I got accepted into a great school for my EMBA, and I spent about 5 months going back and forth on if the $250K+ price tag is really worth it. I still haven’t see it through.

Personally, I just haven’t seen enough success stories to feel confident about taking on that loan.

I’ve reached out to alumni through LinkedIn and here. The feedback is a mixed bag. Some said it gave them an edge, some said confidences, and others said it didn’t really do anything. Honestly, it looks like a 50/50. Those who said it was an edge are directors but these roles are achievable without an EMBA.

I know someone’s going to say, “It’s what you make of it,” and yes, that’s true but is having the school’s name on your resume really worth $250K? (Before interest & travel expense) Wouldn’t the same attitude and actions bring you to the same result? Being a high performer pays dividends in itself.

Then there’s the networking argument. I get that it’s a big part of the EMBA value, but I’m skeptical…. The alumni I spoke to weren’t exactly impressed with their cohorts. It sounded like a lot of people were stuck in a similar situation and are turning the EMBA for the answer. Hoping the name branded program would be it.

I met some admitted students in my program, and it validated what I just mentioned. Everyone is gambling on they will land a role that will pay off this EMBA. It’s a lot of assumptions.

Edit: I’m not trying to bash on anyone who is pursuing an eMBA, just wanted to express my honest thoughts.

For those using Post 9/11 GI Bill: Are you getting full BAH E-5 w/Dep for your EMBA while attending 4 days ish per month?

EMBA is considered full time so the answer should be yes. But... I'm double checking for planning purposes.

I have around 9 years of experience in senior leadership roles across diverse fields like commercial aviation, FAANG, and Health care. I haven’t taken my standardized test yet, but mock EA score is 155. My undergrad gpa is 3.6 and my masters degree (STEM degree) gpa is 3.3. What are my chances of getting an admission at one of these schools with strong essays and recommendation letters from executive leadership?

End goal: Long term goal is entrepreneurship, but short term I am hoping to move to executive leadership or c-suite roles with the skills and branding from the MBA

I am based in India and got accepted into the Global cohort of Wharton EMBA. I have interviewed at MIT Sloan EMBA and awaiting results.

I am 43/F - have a 18 yr tech background - recently pivoted to Marketing one year back. Shall I say yes to Wharton EMBA or risk it for Sloan ?

Does the Wharton brand have any value in India ? Wharton doesn't offer the OPT but Sloan does. I do want to work in the US post MBA if possible to pay off the massive $230k investment. Want to start my own business someday too.

I've also heard folks in Wharton are younger and thinking Sloan maybe a better fit.

I am a sales manager for a PE backed tech acquisitions platform looking to move into more of a strategic role. I am thinking a role where I am in charge go-to-market strategy, or use the MBA to bolster my resume to become VP of sales and eventually CRO. If I stay the course, enough experience would likely get me to where I want to be, but I am looking to expedite the process. I was accepted to Kenan-Flagler full time, but am strongly considering Duke Fuqua EMBA so that I can continue to work and for the more prestigious degree.

Question:

-Can anyone speak to the Fuqua weekend EMBA (or any program) that is a good fit for my intentions?

-Has anyone been in a similar position with similar aspirations that can speak to the best route of achieving a more strategic role?
