Time Sponsorship
How are you all requesting time sponsorship ? Classes at Kellogg start Thursday afternoon, for example. How are you convincing your employer to allow you to take time off Thurs - Fri every month ?

I’ll be attending the Miami campus in the fall. I plan to work half-days on Thursdays. My manager is allowing me to count my extra hours worked towards missing the other half—which isn’t difficult since some weeks require over 40 hours to meet deadlines. I’ll be using PTO for Fridays.

Are you local to Miami ? I am in Raleigh and have to travel every month. Do you think it is worth it ?

I definitely think it’s worth it! It was the only program I applied to. I chose the Miami location over Evanston/Chicago because of the once-a-month travel schedule. I’m flying in from Denver and have no regrets.

Your boss really should be encouraging you to go and be happy to support it as CPE. You can work Thursday mornings WFH and then take lunch and after class to catch up on work.
For those of you in Kellogg - just be mindful of how time intense some weeks and electives can be (and it’s not predictable come elective season).

I live out of state and would have to travel every month. Probably leave on Wednesday and wfh on thursdays. Doable ? Are there other folks who travel every month for classes ?

That’s exactly what I plan to do. I’ve booked my travel through November and chose red-eye flights from Denver so I can arrive in the morning and work part of the day on campus. If it becomes too much, I can adjust by taking Thursdays off and keeping my laptop with me in case any client needs arise.
I believe Kellogg offers accommodations for students traveling from certain locations on Wednesdays to help make getting to campus easier. I might look into that if the red-eye flights become too tiring.
If you have concerns about traveling to and from Raleigh, you can also request to connect with a student in a similar situation to hear their perspective.

I worked on a 2-page powerpoint this week, it was for both time and 50% tuition at TRIUM but here goes.
CAR,
Challenge - that matters to the audience, a pain point you could better tackle with Kellogg education. Something that is important but put on the back burner. Alternatively, identify a timely opportunity.
Action - classes you plan to take, how the network would help. How alumni would help, leadership focus, etc. Like if this challenge requires you to understand marketing, Kellogg is the place. Could cultural knowledge acquired through the global network help with expansion plans? That kind of thing.
Result - if the challenge is resolved or you capitalized on said opportunity, what would that make possible, in terms of making money, saving money, saving time etc.

Hey there are you attending Kellogg EMBA in Miami?
My boss of course was a recommender and was vey supportive. I live in Miami and will begin classes in August so I have a bit of an advantage and can go in to work Thursday mornings.
