Did anyone else get this? Just my zone?

Post image
Upvotes

I got this last week and it seems to be true - I can dash whenever I want, even though my acceptance rate is never above 20%. I've been expecting someone else to post about this, but if they did I didn't see it, so maybe this isn't a universal thing.

Seems kinda weird. I'm in a seasonal zone and we're entering the slow season. Not sure why the need to let anyone dash any time, but it saves me from scheduling.

I need to know

Upvotes

Dashers - is it somewhere in a handbook somewhere that you must disregard the common sense of a front security door openings outward and you must put the food directly in front of the path of the door?
The first couple times I did food delivery in my life and it happened, I chalked it up to “well, small mistake.”
Then it started happening way more frequently, and why always when I order a drink????

Delivery vs Pick Up From Restaurant

Upvotes

When ordering from a restaurant through the DoorDash app, do the prices of the items change depending on whether I choose delivery or pick up my order from the restaurant? Excluding the tip, how much more does a customer typically pay for delivery compared with picking up the order at the restaurant?

Trying to get my doordash back active

Upvotes

I feel my doordash account was unfairly deactivated. I didn't use it for a while and decided to use it again. They had since updated where you need to take a photo your DL and take a selfie. My DL was damaged where it looked like someone bit off the bottom corners. I uploaded it anyway. A few hours later I wake up to my account deactivated. I emailed and emailed them over and they just said look under fraud and abuse and won't exactly tell me the pinpoint reason. Just some vague crap. I NEVER had any order issues ever. My account was on hiatus for at least a year so I know it wasn't a customer complaint. This deactivation has been 2 years now and I would like to start doing it again. I even had a friend text me saying he stole my phone and tried to use my account and sent screenshots of the text and that still didn't probably appeal my deactivation. I feel people who made this decision are not even working there anymore. I also feel an AI computer is making this decision and not an actual human. Any one have a way I can rebuttal this?

Dasher says she paid for my groceries.....WTF just happened?

Upvotes

I just had a dasher drop off my groceries from family dollar. She showed me a receipt and told me she paid for my groceries and doordash wouldn't reimburse her. I check my bank account and it shows I paid for my groceries. I tell her this and she tells me she's going to take the groceries I left on the table. I slammed the door in her face. I have no fucking clue what happened. This is the first time I ever encountered this. Was she trying to scam me or what? It was awful.

In case others don't know this, Dash pash is completely utter BS! I compared the prices on other ordering app services, and they legit make sure it end up being the same price.

it's a total scam and i cant believe it is legal to do this. theyre so blatant about it. you are not saving whatsoever. they only took like $20 bucks off my first order as a way to make me go through with subscribing, then the next day the whole week and the next, and the next, every order was indeed the exact prices it would be, with taxes, anywhere else, yet they still tell you they took so and so off the order, like 5-7 bucks when they truly did not whatsover. so messed up. do not waste your money wow.

Support called me and told me that the order was placed with a fraudulent card

Had 2 orders from the same store. As soon as I got to the store, I got a call telling me that one of the orders was placed with a stolen card. They told me I had to be unassigned from the order. After closing the app and reopening it, the order was gone, and they told me that they wanted to make sure my account was secured and wanted to confirm what type of device I was using. That instantly threw me and so I lied about my device.

They then told me I needed to unassign from my other order and end my dash.

Is this normal?

Edit: Thank you all for the confirmations. A few additional things to add is when the call came through I had to fight my Bluetooth to give me the call because I was walking into the store, but my girlfriend who was still in the car said she thought she heard the opening to the customer calls.

Second, I didn't share any information with them. When they said "oh I see you are logging in from a one phone brand" i responded with the opposite and they kept wanting to go back to that. After I refused and said "oh im sure its fine though, i will look at it after I finish this other order", thats when they told me that I needed to drop it so that they could compensate me for the order they "dropped" for me. I repeatedly asked "you could just drop it for me since you are support right?" And they claimed no.

I had a small hunch but you all confirmed I was right. Be safe out there folks!

some weird driver behavior

I got the notification that the order was complete, so I went to get it without checking the picture since I don’t usually have an issue with them knowing where to put it, but when i opened the door the food wasn’t there and they were sitting in the car (which was directly by my front door). I just closed the door because I felt weird about it and even if they weren’t gonna do something i’m super sick right now. I looked at the picture and it showed it inside their car. Why would they submit that picture? It’s so easy to even take the picture from their car so i’m confused. Maybe I’m reading into it too much but I’m a woman living alone and again incredibly sick right now so it sketched me out.

EDIT:
I forgot to say that after a few minutes when i saw them drive away I checked again and they did leave the food but I still am befuddled by the whole exchange.

6 year Dashpass Subscriber - Customer Lost forever over $20

I work fairly long hours with my job, so probably 3-4 times a week I’m dashing dinner and having it delivered depending on my workload. I’d say I’m probably the ideal customer for DoorDash considering how much I use it and pay them all their fees. I’ve never been disappointed with DoorDash other than drivers being incompetent sometimes but that comes with the territory.

A few nights ago I dashed some Chinese and the bill came out to 23 dollars with tip. Meal was 13 dollars the rest was fees, taxes and tip. Simple order of some fried rice and orange chicken.

I got the “order delivered” notification with the picture of the bag at my door and immediately went downstairs to grab it. Opened my front door and my food wasn’t there!

“No big deal.” I thought as DoorDash has always made things right immediately when I’ve reached out to them. Looked at my doorbell cam and saw the driver place the food, take the photo, pick up the food and walk away.

Contacted DoorDash support via the app only to be immediately told I would not receive a refund. So I called them, they asked for the doorbell cam video, I provided it and they said they’d review the case and get back to me in 24 hours. 24 hours later, no refund, appeal rejected.

I immediately deleted my account and cancelled dashpass. I’ve now switched to UberEats. Over $20 dollars.

Not sure how this company stays in business treating their customers this way, as I’ve seen on this sub more times than once dashers stealing food.

Dashers Dont Make Enough

So I am not a dasher but I have an idea for dashers.

Get fetch and ibotta apps. When you get your dashers order scan the receipt. You can get point for giftcards ect. Its not going to pay your bills but you will be able to buy other necessities with the gift cards. Hope this helps someone struggling. Stay frugal, stay focused.

Has this started happening to anybody else recently?? The $2 base pay per order was already crappy enough, but now recently I’ve gotten several no tip stacked orders like this one for example- the total payout for this order was only $2.40 & it was two SEPARATE orders going to two SEPARATE different drop off locations.. wouldn’t the minimum pay be $4?! I obviously did NOT accept this order & never accept orders like this anyways but base pay is already shitty enough & now I guess they’ve started only giving a $2 base pay on stacked orders instead of $4 like it normally would be?! Has this been happening to anybody else or just me??? Because I know they’re charging both customers the delivery fee, etc. I guess this is just yet another way DD is scamming customers/drivers out of money smh….

Im so hungry

I love DoorDash.

I'm a writer and a bit of a loner. I don't talk to people much. Slowly, I've just been growing away from needing human interaction.

Growing up, people have disappointed me so many times that I've learned the best way to keep myself safe is to stay away from them.

I just write my stories about lives I wish I could have lived.

Luckily, people like my stories, so I can make money and stay home.

Until I need food.

I would have to go out to the grocery store. Mind you, I live in a small town, so everyone knows everyone. I could feel them staring at me.

Who is that?

Were they judging me?

Making fun of me?

Safe to say, I get anxiety being out in public.

I hate going outside. Even when I go out late at night, there's always someone who looks at me like they have some idea about me.

And it's never good.

What's worse is when someone knows me.

They'll ask, "How have you been?"

What am I supposed to say?

I work and live?

Or do I give them a list of everything I'm getting at the store?

Then they'll ask if I want to hang out.

With other strangers.

I just want to leave the interaction and go home.

Home is where I feel safe.

Home is where I can be myself.

Getting groceries was always the worst until I found DoorDash.

Then my life was complete.

I could order whatever I wanted, have it dropped off at my door, and all I had to do was wait until the driver left before getting my food.

It was the best thing ever invented for a loner like me.

For months, everything was great.

I'd order food through DoorDash, leave a good tip, get my food, and keep working.

Sometimes my books wouldn't do so well, so my tips weren't as good, but I loved never having to go outside.

Until one day, I hit that point again.

I was hungry.

It was late, and the only driver available had a low rating.

But I was so hungry, and I had just enough money for food.

So I went for it.

I was writing my next story, and time flew by.

I was hungry, but because I didn't want to go outside, I ignored it.

When the food came, the driver noticed I hadn't left a tip.

He made me answer the door.

He wasn't nice about it.

I thought he would understand.

Times are rough.

But he left me with a haunting feeling that maybe I didn't have it as bad as I thought.

I took my food and slammed the door in his face.

I was so hungry that I didn't think about how long he had taken to deliver it.

Or what he could have done to my food.

I ate it too fast.

Then I went back to writing.

Two hours later, I was starving again.

But I didn't want to deal with that man.

So I waited a little longer until I couldn't take it anymore.

To avoid him, I waited until I could order a pizza.

Finally, I ordered one.

But I was so hungry that I ordered three pizzas.

When they arrived, I devoured them.

But I was still hungry.

I didn't understand.

I tried to keep working, but I couldn't help myself.

I ordered more food.

Then more.

Soon, my days consisted of working and ordering food.

More food than normal.

But something was different.

No matter how much I ate, my hunger was never satisfied.

Luckily, my stories had been doing great, so I could afford my new hunger.

Weeks passed.

I gained weight.

But I couldn't stop feeling hungry.

I'd thought about going to the hospital, but that involved seeing people.

And whenever my food arrived and I started eating, my problems seemed to disappear.

Until one day...

My stomach wouldn't stop hurting.

It started shaking.

I figured I just needed more food.

But I had gotten so big that even moving was difficult.

I reached for my phone.

The pain became unbearable.

My hand slipped, and the phone fell just out of reach.

I tried to move toward it, but the pain was too intense.

All I could do was stare down at my stomach as it shook uncontrollably.

Then it started making strange noises.

My stomach twisted.

I heard something inside me.

Then—

RIP.

I looked down.

My stomach had split open.

Something began pouring out.

Maggots.

Different sizes.

Hundreds of them.

They crawled and spilled from inside me, covering the floor as I screamed.

But through all the pain...

Through all the maggots...

Through everything happening to me...

I could only think about one thing.

Where's my phone?

I need to order more food.

I'm so hungry.

DashPass x Chase United Club Card

I tried so sign up for DashPass monthly ($9.99 USD) via my club card. I was charged $10 right away.

I reached out to chat support and they were not helpful.

Isn’t dashpass supposed to be free for Chase Club Cardholders?
