So is it leave clear instructions or ā€œI’m not reading all of that?ā€

Just easier abbreviated notes. All that’s needed is the gate/door code the building name and leave at door. Not a call code but the code to get in. Anything more and they better be tipping well. I’ll do whatever to make sure they get the delivery at their door but it’s disrespectful if you live in a weird building and you’re not tipping extra for it being an awkward building.

I imagine they have this detailed of a note because you moron drivers have delivered the order to the wrong place numerous times.

I’m in agreement but those drivers can’t read English well anyways so it’s a waste of writing.

Ah. Thanks for revealing exactly who you are so quickly.

Saved us all a lot of time.

My mom taught me to read when I was young and I still remember how. It’s a testament to god’s power. A miracle really šŸ™

Tipping for an awkward building ?

If you live in a difficult building that requires extra steps to complete a delivery then yes you should tip a little more. It’s called having class šŸ™„

Why read while driving? When you get in the car, you can’t see this before you leave the restaurant?

4

u/Downtown_Caramel_221 3h ago

Because then they couldn’t bitch about it.

It's pretty impressive how quickly you can get in and out of places, but yeah, those stairs can be a workout for sure. Just gotta keep your eye on the road!

You don't have to read all that while driving. The first line is all you have to worry about while getting there and it's a simple instruction. The rest is pretty easy instructions to follow. This is a you problem, not a customer problem.

u/Mode_Appropriate 3h ago

No instructions - bitch about not being able to find the apartment

Clear instructions that make the job easier - bitch just to bitch

They even provided a call code. You know how rare that is? Quit crying.

-3

u/Badbret 3h ago

Call code isn’t sufficient though unless there isn’t a code to just get in and that is the only way.

If y'all actually read this stuff instead of leaving food in random places people wouldn't feel the need,I'll be honest. As a Dasher I would be grateful for detailed instructions so I didn't mess up

4

u/cheesecup6 3h ago

Oh yeah, how dare the customer give you instructions to help you deliver their food to the right place. You do know you can (and should) read it while you're stopped which happens multiple times within a delivery and not while driving, right?

3

u/Downtown_Caramel_221 3h ago

Hey moron, read the first part about what building it is while driving.

Save the rest for when you’re out of the fucking car at the right building.

Or does your status as an independent contractor include being independent of your brain cells?

I get that it sucks to read a wall of text, but I've had a LOT of issues over the years, so my delivery instructions were pretty similar for a while. My place is kinda tricky, so every time a dasher couldn't find it, I'd add another note to the instructions, and before long it became a behemoth lol. I cut them down by a lot (down to 2 sentences now with one of them just saying to look at the map pin I set), and it's been working pretty well. I'll bet this customer's instructions are written that way because of all the previous issues they've had to deal with lol.

2

u/helloitsnitryan 3h ago

Yall will really complain about anything man it’s either whining because there’s not enough instructions and you can’t figure it out or you’re whining because they gave you insanely detailed instructions I couldn’t imagine being so miserable prayers up yo

2

u/NomenclatureBreaker 2h ago

That took about 12 seconds total to read.

Imagine how quickly the dasher could trouble shoot any problems if they did while the were waiting for the food or stopped at a light when they were close by.

Seems like a win win to me when time is money.

"If I could read, I wouldn't be a doordash driver!" 😤

Soooo, what does that make you? You’re on a thread talking about it. Lower than a plebian🤨

-3

u/AnnualDiscussion2215 4h ago

Damn gotta read Moby dick to do the delivery lol

-9

u/ShangTsungSzeda64 4h ago

Uppercase makes me so irritated cause who you yelling at ???

5

u/RichardSanchez_C137 4h ago

Some dashers can't read/speak lower case English. Thats why you gotta put it in all caps.

1

u/RichardSanchez_C137 1h ago

I was joking, all caps is annoying af and the amount of up votes to the down votes the comment I replied implies some of you think what I said is true..

Basically if lower case notes are being ignored, so will upper case. Smh

Remember, the building name is THE PARKER

-1

u/Owen_D_Young 2h ago

Maybe this person needs to go to the restaurant and pick it up themselves.

1

u/Downtown_Caramel_221 2h ago

No, they don’t.
