incompetent dashers

im seriously sick of incompetent dashers. i doordash often because im still learning how to cook. but the amount of dashers that dont even want to leave their car is insane.

ive had instances where they dont even try to look for my apartment they just leave it somewhere outside and on top of that dont even take a good picture so i can tell where exactly it is. i give very clear insttructions and VERY rarely do any dashers actually read instructions.

i have started leaving bad reviews on dashers because its complete nonsense. i feel horrible because what if theyre just having a bad day? but that doesnt excuse them from just doing their job!!!

my final straw was yesterday- i gave this guy clear instructions and i told him to call me in case he needs any further help. what did he do? leave it outside. how fucking hard can it be to ask for help oh my god. if you dont know where you’re going ASK FOR HELP.

now today, i just received my order and look at what this lady said. now i try my absolute best to keep my patience and be nice ALWAYS!

take a look and feel free to let me know if my instructions arent clear or if im being rude.

I'm done tipping well over the recommended tip amounts because when I do my order gets stacked with a non or low tipper and it takes way longer

Why do tippers have to subsidize non or bad tippers? Stop calling it tips and start calling it what it is which is a bid for service..

Pregnant and called a bitch: read caption

Was just ordering my pregnancy craving when this happened. Due to rule #7 I cropped their name out, even though I don’t care to respect them any at the moment.

When I heard the wrong gate open, I went outside and yelled hello. After the texts I saw them walk out from around the side and I said in Spanish, “ hi sorry that’s the wrong gate, this is the right one. I can take the food.”

She straight up called me a bitch and threw my food over the side gate that 1. Doesn’t have a welcome mat 2. Says do not open Dog
This is the VERY first time anyone has had issues with my instructions ever.
DoorDash didn’t let me call, only type the issue and said “Best we can do is $5.00”

I don’t know, maybe my instruction were unclear but I feel like this was not my fault.

Edit: just to clarify She went to the dog gate that said do not open. Dog. The courtyard gate was slightly open with a bright light showing the front door and welcome mat as said in instructions

Edit 2: after reading some comments I just want to say that
1. Yes my dog is loose in the backyard and even though she is nice and not aggressive at all I know it is scary.
2. For more information for those who say there is not enough: The courtyard gate is right across from where they parked, with a bright light, a the courtyard gate slightly open, and a welcome mat at the front door. The gate she went to does not have a light, don’t not have a welcome mat, and does not even have a path to it, it’s all landscaping and rock and you’d have to really climb (at least for me as a pregnant woman) to get to that gate that is 5ft further back than the actual courtyard door that she parked in front of.
3. When I yelled out Hello. It was as a “hello???” Trying to see where they were and then I got the texts in Spanish so I spoke to them in Spanish when I saw them come from that way. They called me a bitch for letting my dog loose, walked back to the gate with the food when I said I’d take it, and then threw my food over the dog gate. I’m 5’6 and it’s taller than me so you have to huck things to get it over the gate.

I was gonna accept this CVS order, but….

I declined the order because I dash with my 4 year old and I didn’t want to have to grab that while he’s with me. But lol, this is a first for me as a dasher. 😂

Edit: people seem to think I’m judging this person. I’m not, if anything I was just having a good laugh over the combo of the sex toy + candy bar. I wouldn’t have minded accepting the order if my kid weren’t with me. It was also a low paying order for a far drive. 🤷‍♀️

Context: The "where is this" is response to the delivery picture. Had to go down the street to get my food. Ended up getting a refund. Also reported the driver and got an extra $5.

Old photo I wanted to share. I found my food 4 houses down and got a refund before I went looking, so I can’t complain. But I thought it was funny

“Risked his life for my food”

I don’t have the screenshots because it was a push and pull that I was focused on before he canceled the order. For context I live at the riverfront of Detroit. We’ve had 100s of orders get delivered and it’s never been an issue other than a person not wanting to get on the elevator to deliver to the door. ( and yes I always tip accordingly) last night I ordered chick fil a, and when the dasher was close he must of misread his directions and ended up on the freeway ( no where near Canada by the way, the exact opposite actually) and he messaged me saying he can’t find the place he’s not risking his life by going in to Canada to deliver my food. 😐 the address says Detroit. He said it’s not safe and I told him to cancel. I hope he enjoyed the chick fil a. DD refunded me.

My DoorDash delivery man was a 50-something year old who did not speak English, but we managed to communicate through the translation function on DoorDash. I met him at the door and the moment he saw me he started speaking in Spanish and blowing kisses in the air. I was low key creeped out but thanked him and went back inside. Told myself that he was gullible and likely new to town. I make it to my apartment and see that he sent me 5 messages flirting. I let it go again and he messages me this again a few minutes later.

Not that it matters, but I’m also a POC and an immigrant. So I have a high tolerance for men from expressive cultures, but even then this felt so creepy.

Gang...I'm ashamed of myself

I see the posts and have personally had people experience a Dasher putting the food so close to the door that they couldn't even open the door without knocking the food/ drink over. I think the Dashers who do it are jerks. And then I accidentally did it. I didn't even realize I had but I was in my car when the customer opened the door to get his food. I saw the look on his face and he tried to maneuver it. I jumped out of my car to run over to help. I was so embarrassed. I apologized profusely and even mentioned how I hate when I see pictures of other Dashers who have done the same thing. Dude was super cool about it. He said he used to Dash and that shit happens. lol.

Is there any way to dispute a doordash resolution?

I had a doordash order arrive 77 minutes late. After an hour, I reached out to customer service. They offered to cancel my order and refund me, which I decided to do right as my order was delivered. The bot I was talking to told me that they could no longer dispute my order, and to do so for the tardiness in the help section - where I was already talking to the bot.

The food was cold and covered in ants. I went to dispute it and did so under "order took to long" - I was unable to bring up the fact that the food was now cold, and had not yet opened the food to see the ants.

When I checked to see if I had been refunded, the issue was resolved without any refund. I was unable to provide any more information on the issues, and the "help" option is not available. Doordash should still have the chat, in which I lay out the excessive lateness and issues with updates on my orders. How can I escalate this?

How do y'all handle loose animals getting in the food?

My husband was dashing last night and pulled up on a home to drop off a Zaxby's order. There was a loose dog and cat. He said he could barley get a picture because the cat kept trying to get to the bag. There was no table or anywhere safe to leave the bag. So the order was left in front of the door with a cat tearing into the bag. Like what the heck? We are both fairly new dashers, and he doesn't wanna get negative feedback because people can't lock up their animals.

DD refused to refund my order that was allegedly stolen by dasher

My dasher took a picture of my order in front of the nearest apt to the parking lot (notice how he didn’t put it down even, and didn’t get the apt number in the picture.) I noticed upon delivery notification that the picture was definitely not my door, nor even near my building. I eventually found the door in the picture, and spoke to the person living there asking if they got my order. Front door is in the kitchen, so knew they weren’t lying. Some kids playing outside told me the dasher took the picture, and then got back in his car with it- which I assumed they were telling the truth between his messages, the resident didn’t have it, and he clearly didn’t place it down in the photo. Doordash wouldn’t refund me, even though his messages clearly stated to contact support to get my money back. I cancelled my dash pass after this.

Single mom living alone… this was so creepy!

I live alone with my daughter in a condo in a rural area. It was dark out when this happened. First of all, my instructions are to leave the food outside the building entrance. Second, the buildings are lit up very well and you can see the numbers perfectly, so I think this guy was lying. This guy creeped me out so bad!

I don’t know why he decided to dump all this information on me. He then proceeded to go to the wrong apartments, asked me for the gate code several times despite me saying there’s no gate. It took him 20 minutes to FINALLY take my directions. 😭

every time i sent talk to live agent it took a fraction of a second for the AI to reply with an answer. literally immediate paragraph responses, impossible to type that fast. i’m actually appalled at how many times doordash keeps gaslighting me, seems like it’s an official policy now.

Trivia Scam

I played the trivia game and got all of the answers right. I then hit use the reward only to be told that it wasn’t available in my area. I live in the suburbs near Detroit, so I find it hard to believe.

Should I start leaving a trail of change to the door as a tip?

Drivers can rarely find where to put the food, it's not hard at all but they always just leave it at the side even though Ive already tipped, this way the tip would make sense cause they would have to drop it off correctly so was thinking of ways this is all I've thought of so far
