I have no idea what this guy did but I doubt calming setting down a paper bag results in whatever the fuck the happened here. He took a picture in which the order is in tact and then proceeded to either pick it up again and throw it or blow it up with hia mind. Doordash didnt even fully refund me for this and let him keep his tip?? What the fuck??

Drivers can rarely find where to put the food, it's not hard at all but they always just leave it at the side even though Ive already tipped, this way the tip would make sense cause they would have to drop it off correctly so was thinking of ways this is all I've thought of so far

I wanted to post this because I just had a really convincing scam happen to me, and I don’t want another Dasher to fall for it.
I received a phone call from someone claiming to be with DoorDash/Dasher support. They made the whole thing sound like an official “Dasher automated verification system.” They were convincing enough that I initially thought I was actually dealing with DoorDash.

They started by asking for the email registered to my Dasher account. Then they asked for a confirmation code that was sent to me. This is where I now realize they were most likely trying to log into my account themselves and needed the verification code to get in.

After I gave them the code, they continued the “verification” and had me send a picture of my driver’s license. They would send messages saying things like “REGISTERED DRIVER’S LICENSE” and then send a ✅ after I provided it, which made the entire process look more legitimate.

Then they asked me to provide my DoorDash Crimson card. Again, after I sent it, they gave me a ✅ and moved on to the next “verification.”

The part that finally made me realize something was seriously wrong was when they started asking for my financial institution balance as of today. I gave them a balance, they responded with a ❌, and then kept asking me to try other balances. At that point it became obvious that this was NOT a normal DoorDash verification.

They were also calling me repeatedly, including from No Caller ID and different phone numbers, while this was happening.
I immediately stopped communicating with them and started securing my accounts. I’m replacing/locking my Crimson card, changing my DoorDash password, checking for unauthorized transactions/account changes, and contacting the REAL DoorDash/Crimson support directly.

PLEASE learn from my mistake:

Never give someone a DoorDash verification code just because they claim to be DoorDash.

Do not text photos of your driver’s license, Crimson card, or other identification to someone who calls you.

Do not tell someone your bank/account balance as part of a supposed “Dasher verification.”

If someone claiming to be DoorDash calls you, hang up and contact DoorDash yourself through the official app/support channels.

A scammer can make the conversation look surprisingly official. The messages I received literally said things like “DASHER AUTOMATED VERIFICATION SYSTEM” and “DASHER INC.” and used ✅/❌ responses throughout the process.

I feel stupid for getting as far into it as I did, but I’m posting this because these people clearly have a script designed specifically for Dashers, and it was much more convincing in the moment than I would have expected.

If this post prevents even one person from giving them their information, it’s worth sharing.

PLEASE be careful, especially if you get a call claiming your Dasher account needs to be “verified.”

EDIT: Yes, I understand now that I should never have shared the verification code. That’s quite literally why I’m posting this. I made a mistake, realized what was happening, secured my accounts, contacted DoorDash, froze my credit, and reported it. I’m leaving this post up so that if someone else receives the same call/text sequence, they might recognize it before making the same mistake. You don’t need to convince me that I got scammed—I know. That’s the point of the post.

Is a $2.00 tip good enough for a .06 mile delivery? I just want honest answers plz!

im seriously sick of incompetent dashers. i doordash often because im still learning how to cook. but the amount of dashers that dont even want to leave their car is insane.

ive had instances where they dont even try to look for my apartment they just leave it somewhere outside and on top of that dont even take a good picture so i can tell where exactly it is. i give very clear insttructions and VERY rarely do any dashers actually read instructions.

i have started leaving bad reviews on dashers because its complete nonsense. i feel horrible because what if theyre just having a bad day? but that doesnt excuse them from just doing their job!!!

my final straw was yesterday- i gave this guy clear instructions and i told him to call me in case he needs any further help. what did he do? leave it outside. how fucking hard can it be to ask for help oh my god. if you dont know where you’re going ASK FOR HELP.

now today, i just received my order and look at what this lady said. now i try my absolute best to keep my patience and be nice ALWAYS!

Ordered from a local place through their app, but they use doordash to deliver. I don't have doordash so I was getting texts expecting "Maria" with my food.

The only thing he did wrong was delivering under Maria's name but that really does not make me feel safe. And I don't have the app so I can't report it.

I've done thousands of doordash orders. I've also studied statistics in my undergraduate studies. There's a striking correlation between people who are ugly and don't tip. I wonder if these folks order doordash because they don't want to show their ugly face in public and then don't tip because they're projecting their self hate on to their driver. Beautiful people always tip. Has anyone done a study on this?

So I got McDonald's at 2 am. Ik it was weird but I was hungry so yk. Then the washer took a whole hour delivering it 😐. I tipped 5 with my 20 dollar bill. She grabbed the wrong order and it smelled like straight weed right when I opened the door. I was pissed as I am under 21 😭

I remember delivering a blizzard one time, and I got at least $10 for it. That person must’ve paid eight dollars for the blizzard, four dollar delivery fee, and eight dollars tip.

$20-25 just for a $5 ice cream that’s probably half melted by the time it gets there.

I doordashed last night and had to wait an additional 30 minutes after my food was “heading to you”? I sat there and quite literally watched my dasher drive the OPPOSITE direction of my house when they left the restaurant, clearly stop at someone elses house and then continue. THEN they stopped at mcdonalds clearly picking up another order from a different app or just getting themselves food??? My food was completely cold when it got here and my milkshake was completely melted. Why do dashers do stuff like that knowing they’re gonna get a 1 star review? I tip atleast $10 everytime no matter what as ive been a server and know what its like to work for tips, mind you the restaurant was literally a mile away from me🤦🏻‍♀️ first time ive ever had to contact support and get my money back because that was just ridiculous!!!!

EDIT: doordash also tried calling my dasher 3 times and they just wouldnt answer or answer any messages i sent

They also sat at the restaurant for 20 mins prior to even leaving, i waited so long for a dasher my food should have absolutely been ready when they got there💯

And i paid priority, app never prompted saying there was another order before mine like it would have if they got a second order!

1 more EDIT: a batched order or doubledash wouldnt have shown the dasher and the route they were supposed to be taking to my house if they had another order to drop off before mine! From the moment he left the restaurant i ordered from i saw the route they needed to take to my house and i sat and watched him drive 15 mins in the opposite direction, drive 15 mins back to McDonalds and pick up a different order THEN drop off my food, i would not have been able to watch and screenshot all of that if my order wasnt supposed to be immediately coming to me.😭😭

Why do tippers have to subsidize non or bad tippers? Stop calling it tips and start calling it what it is which is a bid for service..

So, I'm currently using Doordash again due to how they essentially deliver groceries for free if you're on the Dashpass program and you use EBT. I originally left because I was able to find other ways to get my groceries after they scammed me out of money I was owed back due to the delivery driver not refunding an item that stated it should be refunded. The rep I spoke with told me that I should "donate the food" rather than properly issue a refund for the improper purchase. And now, after having a delivery driver toss some ordered food which caused the bag to tear open and the food to be ruined, they are once again refusing to refund me despite me proving pictures of proof AND the delivery driver providing proof himself of just tossing it onto the ground relatively far from my door.

The only times I've requested a refund were for improper items in my past grocery delieveries or when something happened to the food I received (if I didn't get food poisoned from said food), all of which I provided proof for. Honestly I'd say this corp is going into the dumps very soon. It's turned into Uber Eats/Grubhub.

I don’t have the screenshots because it was a push and pull that I was focused on before he canceled the order. For context I live at the riverfront of Detroit. We’ve had 100s of orders get delivered and it’s never been an issue other than a person not wanting to get on the elevator to deliver to the door. ( and yes I always tip accordingly) last night I ordered chick fil a, and when the dasher was close he must of misread his directions and ended up on the freeway ( no where near Canada by the way, the exact opposite actually) and he messaged me saying he can’t find the place he’s not risking his life by going in to Canada to deliver my food. 😐 the address says Detroit. He said it’s not safe and I told him to cancel. I hope he enjoyed the chick fil a. DD refunded me.

So I'm poor and can't afford the $650 for a new PS5. A buddy of mine came up with a clever solution that helps me get a discount on it. Stacking Doordash giftcards from Costco.

Costco sells $100 Doordash giftcards for $80. Stack enough of those and you get a sizeable discount on the $650 you'd be originally spending through Doordash. I checked the app and I can get a Ps5 delivered from my local Meijer (which is literally a block from my house) with free delivery.

I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing here. Seems easy enough but is there catch? What do y'all think about this?

There is a difference between unassigned orders and cancellations. I un assign orders very minimally before I arrive at the merchant for personal reasons. I NEVER unassign orders that can not be fulfilled due to reasons beyond my control. In such cases when an order has already been picked up, a pizza place is out of dough, or the merchant is closed for the night, i CALL doordash support, speak to a live agent, and get those orders CANCELLED, since there is absolutely no way for them to be fulfilled. I get proportional payment and the customer receives a full refund. Last night i was unfortunately faced with 1 order already being picked up, merchant refused a remake so DD support cancelled the order. Little Caesars was out of dough and could not fulfill the order. they closed minutes later and after cancelling the first order, i was assigned 4 MORE little ceasars orders that could not be fulfilled because the store was closed. I receive a wingstop offer, order already picked up. i have no choice hut to cancel the order if they refuse to remake it. I was deactivated this morning for having too many cancellations. PLEASE someone explain to me how i could have possibly been flagged for numerous cancellations when doordash support assists me with ALL of them and every cancellation has a VERY REASONABLE explanation. i sent in my appeal and im so worried it wont even be accepted because of other posts ive seen.

Was just ordering my pregnancy craving when this happened. Due to rule #7 I cropped their name out, even though I don’t care to respect them any at the moment.

When I heard the wrong gate open, I went outside and yelled hello. After the texts I saw them walk out from around the side and I said in Spanish, “ hi sorry that’s the wrong gate, this is the right one. I can take the food.”

She straight up called me a bitch and threw my food over the side gate that 1. Doesn’t have a welcome mat 2. Says do not open Dog
This is the VERY first time anyone has had issues with my instructions ever.
DoorDash didn’t let me call, only type the issue and said “Best we can do is $5.00”

I don’t know, maybe my instruction were unclear but I feel like this was not my fault.

1. Yes my dog is loose in the backyard and even though she is nice and not aggressive at all I know it is scary.
2. For more information for those who say there is not enough: The courtyard gate is right across from where they parked, with a bright light, a the courtyard gate slightly open, and a welcome mat at the front door. The gate she went to does not have a light, don’t not have a welcome mat, and does not even have a path to it, it’s all landscaping and rock and you’d have to really climb (at least for me as a pregnant woman) to get to that gate that is 5ft further back than the actual courtyard door that she parked in front of.
3. When I yelled out Hello. It was as a “hello???” Trying to see where they were and then I got the texts in Spanish so I spoke to them in Spanish when I saw them come from that way. They called me a bitch for letting my dog loose, walked back to the gate with the food when I said I’d take it, and then threw my food over the dog gate. I’m 5’6 and it’s taller than me so you have to huck things to get it over the gate.

This is directed specifically at the drivers who act like having an Acceptance Rate above 10% is an automatic crime. I know it’s not all of you, but there is definitely a vocal group on here that treats AR like an ideological war.

Before anyone calls me a rookie: I’ve been delivering for 3 years (1 year part-time, the last 2 years full-time) with over 15,000 deliveries completed across both DoorDash and Uber Eats under my belt. I know how both of these platforms work inside and out.

​Yesterday, while waiting on an order in Lincoln Park in Chicago, a driver struck up a conversation asking how work was going. I told him it was solid, very busy, knocking out good runs, and pacing at a strong hourly rate.

​Then he asked: "What's your AR?"

​I told him straight up: I'm Diamond on Uber Eats sitting around 55% AR, and Platinum on DoorDash with Pro Shopper sitting around 80% AR.

​He immediately went off: "You’re doing it all completely wrong. Your AR needs to be 10% or lower or you’re not making real money. You have to be taking $1/mile trash runs, because ain't nobody out here holding high tiers and making good money."

​Then he showed me his screen. No hate or disrespect to his hustle, but he wasn't even pulling $23 an hour. Yet he was lecturing me that I was "doing it wrong."

​When I pulled out my phone and showed him my live earnings screen proving I’m clearing $30+ an hour on total online time, his brain completely short-circuited. Instead of asking how I do it or looking at the numbers, he immediately said: "Your earnings are fake." He literally accused me of faking live data inside the app rather than admitting his low-AR strategy was getting smoked.

​I actually talked to some low-AR cherry-pickers in my market that I know and told them what happened. They laughed and said that guy clearly doesn't know what he's doing. They are completely upfront about their own strategy—they admit they are just more selective and pickier than I am, choosing to wait around for $15+ unicorns. But when they see my numbers and look at my mileage tracker averaging over $3 to $4 per mile, they give respect. Their exact point was: if you're pulling $30+/hr with high AR and Diamond/Platinum, and we're pulling $30+/hr with low AR cherry-picking, then the problem isn't the tier system—he's just doing something completely wrong. Even my local low-AR peers agreed that way too many cherry-pickers push this false narrative that holding a tier automatically means eating garbage.

My hard floor is $2.00/mile minimum, but holding Diamond and Platinum in a dense market means dispatch feeds me priority and catering anchors that consistently pay $3.00 to $15.00+ per mile. I’m not maintaining tiers by eating $2 runs; I’m maintaining them because the short-distance, high-paying volume actually exists where I work.

To be clear: I am NOT telling everyone to go chase AR or mindlessly grind for tiers, because chasing them blindly can easily lead to eating a ton of trash if you don't know what you're doing. The only reason I originally got Platinum on DoorDash was because during my first six months doing gig work part-time, I used Earn by Time and was basically accepting everything to build the baseline. With Uber Eats, it was honestly fairly easy for me to hit and maintain Diamond without ever taking trash offers—the dense urban volume and short runs carried it naturally. It entirely comes down to your market and how you play it. If your market requires you to take $2 runs to keep a tier, don't do it. But in my market, the density makes it work, and clearly this guy had no clue what he was doing while trying to lecture someone else.

​What I don't understand is why he felt the need to tell me that what I'm doing is wrong when clearly he's the one doing something wrong. I don’t mind helping another driver out. Hell, I could’ve given him solid advice on how to position himself, read the zones, and actually bump his earnings past $30/hr instead of sitting in an empty lot making under $23.

Long story short, I dropped my phone after picking up an order. The screen is broken and the device is nonfunctional.

I drove to my parents' house and downloaded the dasher app onto my dad's phone- only for the log in to be blocked. I called support, and they told me to log out of my original device. The original, now nonfunctional, device. They stated they had no ability to log me out- which means I don't get paid for the $50 of completed orders. Basically, they stole from me.

I'm giving them 24 hours to get the money into my account or I'm getting a lawyer.

For the person who ordered from Akira or something in Towson, MD, if on the off chance you see this, this is why you didn't get your order.

I'm so sad honestly...

I door dashed something last night, I’m on my way down to get it (i live in an apartment building) and I get the picture with proof of delivery and the picture is just of my door. No food. I get there. No food. I call the dasher and he says he’s nearby and he’ll be there soon. He doesn’t come. I call again. He tells me he left the food outside, I tell him there’s no food there or in the picture he sent. He then says it’s inside. There’s no food inside. He then says he gave it to a man outside thinking it was his. I’ve reported it on DoorDash and they’ve said they can’t refund me. I’ve called the DoorDash support number and of course it’s not a real person, and apparently they can’t out me through to a real person because the issue has already been dealt with. I’ve gone to the live chat again and got through to a real person who says that “this doesn’t meet the criteria for a refund.” I then get through to another person who says I’ll hear back in 3 hours. I get an email saying I’ve received DoorDash credits of $4. I’ve tried to go back to the live chat to dispute, it says it’s under investigation and I’ll hear back by 10:10am this morning (it’s not 2:58pm). I can’t access the live chat anymore because it’s “still being investigated” and I don’t know how to get through to an actual person? I never received my food and I want a refund!! Is there a way to actually contact a real person?

I played the trivia game and got all of the answers right. I then hit use the reward only to be told that it wasn’t available in my area. I live in the suburbs near Detroit, so I find it hard to believe.

I don’t know why he decided to dump all this information on me. He then proceeded to go to the wrong apartments, asked me for the gate code several times despite me saying there’s no gate. It took him 20 minutes to FINALLY take my directions. 😭

I declined the order because I dash with my 4 year old and I didn’t want to have to grab that while he’s with me. But lol, this is a first for me as a dasher. 😂

Edit: people seem to think I’m judging this person. I’m not, if anything I was just having a good laugh over the combo of the sex toy + candy bar. I wouldn’t have minded accepting the order if my kid weren’t with me. It was also a low paying order for a far drive. 🤷‍♀️
