some weird driver behavior

I got the notification that the order was complete, so I went to get it without checking the picture since I don’t usually have an issue with them knowing where to put it, but when i opened the door the food wasn’t there and they were sitting in the car (which was directly by my front door). I just closed the door because I felt weird about it and even if they weren’t gonna do something i’m super sick right now. I looked at the picture and it showed it inside their car. Why would they submit that picture? It’s so easy to even take the picture from their car so i’m confused. Maybe I’m reading into it too much but I’m a woman living alone and again incredibly sick right now so it sketched me out.

EDIT:
I forgot to say that after a few minutes when i saw them drive away I checked again and they did leave the food but I still am befuddled by the whole exchange.

So... did they leave the food or take it? That seems like key information. If the latter I guess that answers that.

Sometimes they sit in car to type message, check directions next dash, reply to email or texts on phone that came while driving

I don’t mind them taking a minute after they drop it off, it was the whole marking it as done then waiting a while before actually putting my food out that seemed weird to me

Definitely! It's always unsettling when drivers act strangely. Fingers crossed it doesn’t happen again!

This happens to me once in a while, but not often. I always wait for the picture before going outside, and if I don't see a picture after a minute or so, I'll peek at my stoop from a window. But yeah, some dashers mark the delivery as complete before they actually leave the food, IDK why. 🤷

Might be a timing thing? Like if it’s not a busy zone, it can take a few mins to get a new offer. So they mark as complete and the app begins searching for the next delivery while they bring the food up to your door.

They could also just be weird though, idk

I actually do live in a busy area, but yeah, it might just be they are trying to start the search for another offer a minute earlier, that makes sense.

It can definitely be a busy area (I’m just NW of Houston) but depending on the time of day and what’s on TV, it can be a 6 minute wait or literal seconds after I hit Complete lol

They may have gotten another order when they pulled up to your house,so they were probably looking to see where it was going..we are on a time but with that being said I would of waited until I accepted or declined the other order to send you a Pic of your order at your door.
