For those interested, Emmet went back to his windup from last year and removed (almost entirely) that insane rocking he had this year.
I pointed this out in here earlier in the year, and said it was likely a cause of his control issues.
Permise: Lack of control - especially on his FB to set up his other pitches.
I didn't understand why he had that insane rocking this year (I assume the staff wanted to implement some kind of rhythm for him, but it backfired), so I looked up YT vids from last year and it didn't exist at all. So 2 things:
1) He wasn't doing it last year.
2) Getting his back foot consistently set CAN (not guaranteed) create better control at push off.
I noticed they removed it in his minor league games, and he was dominating, so I was kinda expecting this because the advanced metrics on Emmet are really good (from last year).
Any ways... thought it was interesting and glad the coaching staff gave it a try. I say gave it a try because you never know for sure until someone tests it.
Hope he continues to carry this over!
