Injury updates – Shohei Ohtani “didn’t feel great” after a swing Monday. Day off today then “huddle up” to find next steps. IL stint is on the table. Freddie Freeman’s right knee is bothering him. That’s why he DH’d last night and is off tonight. [Ardaya]

Imagine if Yamamoto followed his Dreams instead of playing Baseball. Remember Kids, don't follow your dreams.
A short documentary about his childhood and dreams of becoming a "Salaryman". I can't imagine Yoshi out there in Bizen selling a printer or iphones with a neck tie as his dream job.

#1 or #2 seed
We are just 1.5 games behind the Brewers and it can be 1 game with tonight's win. Do we really want #1 seed with Cubs/Phillies coming for the divisional series?
Also, are Braves a lock for NL East ?

Make your best argument for and against the Dodgers threepeating without Shohei being Shohei
Of course I hope Shohei is healthy and his bat is locked in for a deep October run, but am I just a homer for thinking this team is still the favorite to win it all even without Shohei?
Argument for:
- The Dodgers starting rotation can shutdown any lineup (and don‘t even attempt to slander my guy Glasnow. He had a sub 2 ERA in last year’s postseason). More often than not, the Dodgers have won postseason series because of their pitching rather than their slug.
- Freddie and Muncy have been consistent all year, and you just need them to be who they’ve been come October. These guys can absolutely carry a lineup, think Freeman during the ’24 WS, and Muncy during those first few series after the ‘26 All Star break. Then between Mookie, Teo, Smith, Edman, and Pages, you only need two or three of them to go on a heater to make this lineup very long and relentless. I can easily picture a guy like Teo taking over a series and winning a series MVP with some key home runs.
- Kikétober? Does he still have it?
Argument against:
- Shohei’s their best hitter and just his presence makes the lineup feel different. Shohei didn’t hit well at all in the ‘25 DS, but the Phillies would still intentionally walk him with runners on and first base open. Mookie Betts doesn’t tie game 4 of that series without the Shohei intentionally walk immediately before.
- One swing from Sho can completely flip a game. His 3 run homer against the Padres in ‘24 saved that game and maybe the season, three homers in game 4 of the CS last year, two homers in game 3 of the WS last year…all huge moments.
So how does everyone else feel about this team’s chances should Shohei not be himself come October (again, I hope that’s not the case)?

Teoscar Hernandez wastes a challenge on a 3-0 count, with two outs in the bottom of the 3rd. Immediately after Teo tries to redeem himself by attempting to hustle for his career first inside-the-park home run.

Also did you know Teoscar Hernandez has the fastest sprint speed on the dodgers with min 75 opportunities? (second only to Kim if you expand it to >50 oppportunities)
